What's Making You Happy Today?

The celebration setup is the "happy" bit? Or are you happy she is now certifiable

I disagreed with the reason behind the pursuit of the certification, which every dog and pony these days possesses, solely to increase her income by 50%. I disagreed on the account that three letters at the end of your name does not guarantee a raise but I made my point known and I did not comment on her retrying again. I'm happy after multiple failures, she finally passed the exam though.

I have a free hotel suite from a big chain that I can use but she's rather a loquacious and loud speaker - and likely she'll want to sleep in the suite rather than use it as a party room. I'm leaning towards to setting it up in a bar now.

I terminated her a few years ago due not on her performance or personality but on because I had to shrink costs. She fell on some hardship and I feel obligated and responsible for her professional opportunities.

That is nice of you.

Sleeping about 5 hours and being roused with the dream about some audit at work, special orders from the big boss, and running around the office politicking with glee. Yes, cry havoc and let loose the dogs of hell, it's time to get back to the office.

elvis memorial concert in the historic town theatre - now watching the aloha concert on youtube.

Now that's entertainment

tbh, the performance was ok. way better than your local karaoke gig, lol.
got the ticket from the padrone for christmas and his happiness was contagieous. tons of cougars. there was something in the air ...

Good for you JimmyRustler. Contributing to continuing education and linking practitioners is a huge undertaking and demonstrates your dedication to your profession beyond just being a lawyer. Not many professionals in any field want to be involved in such things.

So kudos to you

Last Friday morning I went out to the barn at 7 AM and found one of my water lines was broken. It was 25 below and I was on the way to having an indoor and outdoor skating rink.

Called for help. Yep, no problem, we'll be out. Then they call back and tell me no trenchers are available to provide a backhoe. Called 30 other contractors but no dice. Still the water ran.

Monday. "We're coming" then "oops, backhoe blew a hose in the cold. Tuesday." A river runs through it.

Tuesday then arrive. Asked them if they brought a pump to pump out my stack to get to the shut off valve. "What pump? Tomorrow" lakeside property.

Wednesday they are here with pump only the stack has filled with mud. Call a septic truck. Mud too thick, need a hydro-vac truck. Tomorrow. Waterskiing come summer.

Tomorrow is now today. Hydro-vac sucks out the mud and we turn off the water for the first time in 6 days. Dig a big hole and cap the line. Spliced the power line that was torn up and everything is cool.

Still have to melt ice and dry up barn.

Happy it is finally done.

Extra happy: barn water supply is not on the meter so the spill was free until all the neighbours on the water system start wondering why the leakage was astronomical next billing period.

Jesus that sounds like a fucking hassle. Contractors are the absolute worst.

Frustrating that no one is available with a backhoe for emergencies. No one on weekends. These guys fuck the dog in the winter.

Love and hate one thing that is coming up in a couple of minutes: a job interview.

I get Stoli and diet if I'm trying to limit to 3 drinks before a meeting in the afternoon.

I'm very happy someone whom I care about used my Christmas gift for her. I wish I was there to witness it.

I threw a modest $500 party for another person because she finally achieved her certification.

And I was able to meet up with a good mate of mine before he is on secondment to Asia for two years.

That's what I felt like but it was a month.

Don Giovanni tickets at orchestra level - 15% off - and not the matinee. Okay, bought it. I wanted to be in Ring 3 but whatever, good things come to those who wait.

Now I just have to lose enough weight for my black tie again.

I bottled the pumpkin cider that I've been fermenting, and nothing went horribly wrong. Also, I already had a few glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon to celebrate.

Did not watch the State of the Union. Did not get angry at all the clapping and phony standing ovations. Did not hear about all the free shit. Did not listen to 59 instances of "we ought to" and 104 of "I believe". Did not play American Make Believe 2015.

Need to post that Pharell song "happy happy happy bla bla bla"

I found my hat again. I lost out coming out the back door of my flat and some neighbour laid it up nicely for me outside. Except now I'm mortified to wear it since it has been outside for a day. The last time I lost this hat was at my club and weeks later, unbeknownst to me, I walked by the coat rack and saw it hanging there.

Lucky hat.
