In Scotland you have a lot of granite, which has quite a few radioactive elements, including radon gas.
interesting. I was merely pointing out the reality of low radiation dosage from digital radiographs, which are minimal compared to other sources of daily radiation we experience. any patient can refuse radiographs without having to resort to claiming they want to prevent brain cancer, since it is silly. there is an algorithm that informed dentists follow. sounds like you should change dentists if they are always about selling radiographs to you. If you have no issues and have not had any decay in the last year or so, you don't need radiographs every year. every 2 to 3 years depending on your mouth. In Scotland you have a lot of granite, which has quite a few radioactive elements, including radon gas.
Back in the late 2000's I was involved in the investigation of the Iridium 192 source that had entered the global stainless steel supply chain from a melt and pour from an Indian steel mill. It was originally found in lift buttons in Germany. By then it was everywhere.
Now it's tightened up, ports of entry are well protected. If you've had a radium meal for cancer, or such like, they'll pick it up. Or you might find that the belt buckle you've got on is highly contaminated and you'll get pulled.
As I only go to the dentist every 4-5 years, I think they were reasonable to ask, but I've had a quite a few recent ones at the orthodontist. So asked them to share. I'm not worried about brain cancer from dental x-rays, I'm a bit more worried from an early career exposure from x-ray technicians, ''bombers'' as we call them, who take x-rays and gamma ray radiographs of pipe and forgings.interesting. Hopefully, it wasn't after you had a got a big grocery shop in. Our door went on the fridge a couple of months ago, I was like we need to buy a new fridge quick, but we found someone who would came out and fixed it within the hour for a €100.my refrigerator just died.
impossible to find the parts to fix it. luckily i think i found a replacement for delivery tuesday. freezer is still working and half the things are in a cooler. the rest of it is just about fucked.Hopefully, it wasn't after you had a got a big grocery shop in. You don't have evidence. We ask all our employees, when they 'embark" to provide copies of their certificates of their most important qualifications.Noticed at work my CV folder had disappeared and put it in my mind to fix. Was looking for my certificates in the home office yesterday and couldn't find any of my academic and vocational qualifications - certainly not where I left them, neatly curated and placed. Looked again today, spoke to the missus and she said because it was messy - as the kids are using it as well - she tidied up the office and moved them, in one of her cleaning frenzies. She thought she knew exactly where she had placed them, but to no avail, she has no idea where they are or binned them. Scoured the house looking for them, even the loft is a possible location in a bin bag with old laptop cases. Not to be found.
Totally gutted. Whilst most of them I can get copies of, some I won't, not the important ones, but it's the principle of the thing, if it's on your CV you have the evidence.
Got copies of most of them, with the exception of an ECITB one my A and O-Levels. But it's the principle of having them binned which pissed me off the most. You don't have evidence. We ask all our employees, when they 'embark" to provide copies of their certificates of their most important qualifications.
So for example, if you said you had a degree in mechanical engineering, 3 A-levels and 9 GCSE's or O-Levels (showing my age there) you would be expected to provide your degree certificate but not your lesser qualifications. You can always request copies of your degree certificate from the University you attended.

Just end it...just f@cking end it.
You doing ok buddy?
By accident, my mum let out my sister has cancer and after the operation, it's still there...
Which may explain why she didn't respond to a couple of communications recently, which I put down to something else.
I don't really get this keeping illness secret.
the way these kids treat teachers now. i would have been beaten to death at home if i pulled this shit.

Just about a federal crime to even touch a child nowadays. Why do teachers take this? You don't want a diploma or piece of toilet paper for your next stage in life? Be my guest and walk out the door. Otherwise the rest of us are doing it in my way.
This is like an interviewer and interviewee at a job interview. If I'm the interviewer, I'm in charge.
Honestly this isn’t even that bad. Ive heard of WAY worse. Some of this has to do with school districts letting parents decide whether or not their children are LD (learning disabled).Back in the day, a couple of teachers in my school would have flattened him and then we he got home is dad would have belt buckled to an each of his life.
One of my aunt's was a teacher and she said it all went wrong during the Blair years when it became impossible to expel kids and those special needs (not disabled), but potential psycho-killer types, were left in the mainstream schools to run amok and get away with it. You just couldn't expel them.Honestly this isn’t even that bad. Ive heard of WAY worse. Even here now, there's been a couple of teachers, in both my kids schools who have had breakdowns trying to control unruly classes and with every card getting played by the kids and some baiting the teachers, like that kid was. It must be dreadful.
Interesting that it's reported in The Guardian, who happen to sponsor and enable that well known misogynist, Owen Jones.70% of female teachers have faced misogyny in UK schools, poll shows
Survey confirms culture of sexual harassment in classrooms amid influence of ‘incel’ movementwww.theguardian.com
not great!
that well known misogynist, Owen Jones.
I want to suggest a new game for the forum: Every time Pimpy makes one of his crazy claims, we go find the article/media he lifted the concept from.
Knowing that Owen Jones is both gay as well as a known pro LGBTQ+ supporter, I wondered who would tag him as a misogynist, of all things. I found one article on Unherd, and one on The Times. Which one is it this time, Pimpernel Smith ?
It’s the unherd one! I win!!Do keep up....there's a whole bunch of middle class white guys, pretending to speak for the trans community, of which they don't and just because he's gay, doesn't make him a righteous dude. Whilst he may feign he's an ally to transwomen, he seems to have a documented problem with the cisgender variety and bullying:
You haven't read it, have you? It’s the unherd one! I win!!

Did you read the article? What is in this incel nonsense? Geeky men empowered by online porn?
Did you read the article?
You haven't read it, have you?
Written by ex-Guardian journalist hounded out by said Jones. You missed Private Eye, amongst others. Official complaints upheld of bullying...The Spectator, etc, etc...Seek and ye shall find!
I'm sure if Owen Jones was squeaky clean, he'd be suing her ass off for libel.
And don't forget when he turned on Comrade Corbyn...
LOL, indeed!
And has The Guardian paid appropriate reperations for their founding father and legacies as supporting the slave trade and against the industrial toiling and exploited classes? They need to pay with their rather large bequethed slush fund.
so get a career and then completely drop that same career if parents aren't training their children properly?I read the daily mail one yeah. As I said, if students aren't behaving - feel free to get a degree, diploma or whatever elsewhere.
no no no no no sir. no you DEFINITELY cannot be running things your way. you do what you're told, when you're told, and do not, under any circumstance, attack the children. its more like prison. But in my class, it's run my way. That is the whole point of education isn't it? Figure out how to get through an organised system that sets you up for life in the corporate world.
So you're not a details man, thanks. You’re missing the point, Pimpy. I don’t even know who Owen Jones is. I just find your outrageous claims fun to track!!
Just because you can't get a girlfriend, doesn't make you a misogynist.MSN

Teachers to debate incel culture as ‘seven in 10’ experience misogyny
Teachers report undermining and belittling comments at work as well as experiencing physical and sexual violence.www.standard.co.uk
Teenage boys should be taught about incel culture, teachers say
Teachers will debate how to tackle the growing problem of 'incel' culture in schools, as seven in ten teachers say they have experienced misogyny at work, with 59 per cent of it coming from pupils.www.dailymail.co.uk
Plus many many many many many more outlets picking the story up, even those pedophile protectors at the BBC. Of course, you might have known this is you had actually read the article and done your own research for once instead of just forming every opinion you have on article titles and where they are published.
Not really.Likely, much of this misogyny is culturally defined.
Are you seriously asking?Going back to the 1980s, none of the female teachers I had were getting abused by the boys in the class. They wouldn't dare for starters, it wouldn't be tolerated in the culture, or school. So what has changed since then?
It's a rhetorical question, we all know why and we also know it's about culture, or lack there of. If not culture, is it genetic? Are you seriously asking?
so get a career and then completely drop that same career if parents aren't training their children properly?
if we followed this logic shouldn't you quit and go to cooking school and open up a restaurant since things haven't gone your way in your job recently?
