Why Are You Pissed Off Today?

Say what now?

We just drone bomb the middle east but that wouldn't be acceptable on western "homeland."

Your friend's mostly correct. Chemtrails is unthruth (at least mostly) but no big deal.

Your intelligence is blinkered thinking any plane in the world can pulverize a skyscraper much less in less than 10 seconds. WTC 7 wasn't hit with anything but it too was pulverized in about 5 seconds. The media accidentally reported its demolition 20 minutes ahead of detonation.

You are contradicting yourself - firstly you say that it's not acceptable to actually bomb our own countries, then you claim that the WTC attacks were a plot by the shadowy "powers that be" and that they were rigged with explosives.

I don't want to get into a discussion on the WTC bombings, as I've discussed it many times in the past. Suffice to say that if you do some reading - not conspiracy sites that are essentially echo chambers, but other sites - the idea that planes loaded with jet fuel that then exploded and burned for some hours, weakening columns and leading to thermal expansion, bringing the upper floors crashing down upon the lower floors makes sense.

However, the idea that busy, fully-occupied buildings that were amongst the largest in the world were somehow fitted out with massive amounts of explosives that would go off in a planned series of explosions after the planes hit at an unpredictable location, does not make sense.

Say what now?

You haven't heard these things before? You've had a sheltered upbringing! Or perhaps you have sensible friends...

Everything gets leaked. Trump's staff can't keep something secret for more than 5 minutes. It's ridiculous to believe that a large amount of people could have such a big secret for 2 decades without anyone leaking.

There's possibility the buildings were renovated with ceiling or wall panels manufactured with nanothermite. Regardless they were all controlled demolitions however poorly disguised, an indisputable scientific fact.

I mean acceptable to the public. There's nothing unacceptable to oligarchs.

"Nanothermite" cannot do what 9/11 conspiracy theorists say it can do. There's no indication that there were very extensive renovations to the ceilings or wall panels of multiple floors of both buildings. To get this "nanothermite" in contact with the structural components, the material covering the beams, which included fire retardant and paint, would had to have been stripped away. This would have been a very time-consuming and expensive process.

Regardless they were all controlled demolitions however poorly disguised, an indisputable scientific fact.

All of the controlled demolitions I have seen have been from the bottom-up, so to speak - explosions go off at the bottom and the building then falls down. The WTC buildings collapsed from the impact zones downwards, which is entirely unlike other controlled demolitions.

I mean acceptable to the public. There's nothing unacceptable to oligarchs.

That's what I'm saying - if these people are so ruthless that they want to destroy the world as it currently exists, why bother *faking* these events? They clearly don't care about human lives, so why not just plant actual bombs?

This is where these conspiracy theories encounter problems - rather than accepting rational explanations, they create extremely complex explanations for simple, albeit horrific, events.

Take the Boston Marathon bombing as an example - the generally-accepted explanation is that two brothers purchased various household items, used those items to make bombs, and planted them at the finish line of the marathon. The conspiracy theorist explanation is that it was all faked and that hundreds of "vic-sims" acted as though they were injured. Given that paramedics rushed to the scene and took people to hospitals - and that those people were supposedly not injured - then the paramedics and hospital staff must also be involved in the plot and, for some reason, must have decided not to spill the beans. So we go from a plot involving two people, to a plot involving hundreds of people who have all agreed to not tell the truth. Which one seems more realistic?

I'm pissed off at present because I've discovered that a good friend of mine, who I've known since primary school, is an ardent conspiracy theorist.

Well, I've known for the past decade or so that he subscribes to multiple conspiracy theories - 9/11 was an inside job; the world is being manipulated by a cabal or thirty-or-so ultra-rich people who want to destroy our current society and then re-shape it; the swine flu was manufactured to kill us; the swine flu virus was manufactured to kill us; contrails in the sky are actually "chemtrails" that will poison us; and so on.

I knew all that, and found it both interesting and frustrating - interesting because I want to know how his mind works and why he thinks as he does; frustrating because when I'd investigate his theories, present him with information and ask him questions about the impact of the information I was showing him, he'd slip away to the side, never answering me head on, always segueing into other conspiracy theories. He'd always say that he was willing to "go back to the drawing board" and reconsider things but whenever he went back to the drawing board, it was always to come up with yet another conspiracy theory.

Anyway, I thought that I knew it all but I discovered a few days ago that not only does he believe in all of the above, but he also believes that various events - the Boston Marathon bombing, the Sandy Hook school shooting, various other events - were all staged. By whom, I'm not sure - the government? The shadowy "powers that be"? Anyway, not only does he believe that the events were deliberately staged, but he also believes that there were no victims. The apparent victims were, instead "crisis actors" or "vicsims" (victim simulators) in conspiracy-speak, and apparently it can all be proven through facial recognition technology as the same people have popped up in Boston, in Sandy Hook, in Paris, in Berlin and so on.

I know that most conspiracy theories demand considerable logical contortions - or an absolute refusal to even consider things logically - but this really takes the cake. A government, or Machiavellian cabal of ultra-rich people, which is actively planning to destroy our current society, plans *fake* events and uses the same actors at each of the events, even going so far as to fly them overseas so that they can appear in manufactured, staged crises in other countries. Really? If you're an evil overlord like MFDoom MFDoom and you want to destroy society as it stands, with all the conflict and loss of life that would entail, why would you bother faking a bombing? Why not just get someone to plant actual bombs? It's much easier and simpler.

I want to ask you a question, I don't want you to answer it, but merely, to dwell on it:

Why is it typically only Americans who are abducted by aliens? Why do the UFO's only ever seem to land in the US, rather than, for example fxh's back yard?

Again, don't bother to answer it, just merely dwell on it.

Obviously they're the chosen ones. The aliens want to sample some of their freedom.

Fxh is an alien.

That's another false flag, torture and mind control programs used alien abduction charades to help discredit the drugged victims' testimonies.

Don't be so cheeky.

Having vicsims (wow, what a word) has this interesting quality, in that you can withhold the usual sympathetic response you might ordinarily feel towards victims by making them part of the conspiracy. Noce for those who want to lean more towards paranoia and away from being an actual human.

For me, my mojo seems to be out of reach at the moment. I have an awful case of cognitive drift, everything is a crisis, and - even better - everyone seems to think I have all the answers and waits for me to lead the way. What color should the bathroom tiles be? What do you think of this range? Cabinets? How do i correct these books? Is $2800 outrageous for a new AC compressor? When can I get my tax return? Why is the epoxy on the floor not dry? Why is there trash in the house?

So, dunno if I mentioned this. Baby Doom has been at the same parochial school since she was 3. She is in the first grade now. All of a sudden she's behind in her reading, is being referred for tutoring (at added expense). Then Ms Doom's truck was stolen, which had Baby Doom's bag, homework and books. So her teacher punished her for the following week, keeping her out of recess. We get condescending emails from the school, alternately expressing sympathy for the flooded house, and then chastising us for being bad parents. Last week I called her principal and pulled her from the school, now she's at a public school and happier. (So, happy ending for now).

Also, shitty worthless foster boyhas added his own shitty drama by avoiding any effort at all towards clean-up. I told him he is leaving when he turns 18. I DNGAF where he goes or what happens to him, I just want him gone and never to contact us again. He thinks he may be getting the old Miata but we're down to two cars as it is, and he doesn't have the money for insurance (or gas, for that matter) and doesn't have his license, so I see a bus ticket in his future.

^You have a Miata? Good man!

I've got a 1990 model in silverstone metallic, which I've owned for the past 19 years.

You and MFDoom MFDoom should get together and set up a hairdressers' salon. I can see it now, the pair of you driving in formation in your Miatas, wind blowing through your hair, George Michael playing over the top.

We have a 1996 model, painted green with silver stripes. It sat dormant for years until the boy arrived and we (I) set to work restoring it. Much work lies ahead, but it passed inspection and I re-upped the registration with little trouble. But yeah it is fun to drive.

Maybe don't call him the boy? No wonder he doesn't want to work for you if you keep calling him boy.

I call him Dakota. I use 'boy' because it is shorter and sometimes I don't want to hear, see, or speak his name.

So speaking of - we were in the pool yesterday, he's making an effort to engage (but not actually do anything), so we spoke. He lamented his decisions and squandering his time around here. Let's be honest; he could have had 1) a GED, 2) a car, and 3) about $3k in his pocket when he turned 18. And since he's a foster placement the state would pay his college tuition for life.

Instead, he has $114 to his name.

I resisted the urge to agree with him, and said (short version) is that it's on him to hustle now. Not preachy, not lecturingly, just - hey, hustle and desire go a long way. Skills can be trained but desire can't. So there's that.

That's some pretty selfless stuff. I'm unsure I'm convinced I'd do that for my own child must less some random one. I have enough issues motivating myself ever upwards.

I guess I won't say the only thing I was peeved since waking up two hours ago was missing the ticket agent with the cleavage by a second in the queue.

Self-Authoring techniques might help him: Jordan Peterson for one. Do a search on YouTube, I wish I had access to his stuff when I was 17.

Whilst fostering is a noble cause, you can end up inheriting someone else's bad socialization problems and/or potential for mental illnesses or genetic disorders. So I understand that the situation is likely nothing to do with your effort and support. But there's always hope, I do believe that Jordan Peterson is one of the few commentators today who has something real and meaningful to offer youth.

Jordan Peterson. That's the guy from my university that I went to a lecture/talk last year.

Again the name lives on in this forum.

You should be very satisfied....because he is one of the best minds of this era being injected into the mainstream.

He's going to bigger than Jung and Nietsche.

Seriously, he's delivering stuff that you can only get at the top universities and it's all for free on YouTube.

And in saying that, why aren't you doing that?

I'm repeating what I wrote in some other thread but you're new so you might not have read it. I went to his talk because the lecture was titled behaviours, personalities and job interviews - specifically I was assuming from the hiring side of the things. The talk then descended into his observations on society, political left versus right, people's dispositions (man vs woman, etc.), whether your personality can change, and also this self-authoring stuff.

Most people seemed to go there to look for an answer to their lives from "the great Jordan Peterson." Who's going to know more about me than me? I'm the master of my own actions. I chart my own course & destiny. No one's going to do that for me better than me.

The only course you chart is the one that goes straight to a bar.

I agree you should always cut your own swathe through the forest. As with everything you can take what you want and leave the stuff that doesn't interest or concern you. He's certainly one of the most interesting college professors I've ever come across. I am not setting him up as some guru or a cult to be followed and you can avoid the controversial stuff and he still has something interesting to say on the human condition and societies.

And he appears to be a threat to the reality studio as Google disabled his accounts, including email and Youtube for ''violation of terms of service'' they quickly reinstated him, but the message was clear: you're off message and we can close you down.

Yeah, I'm burned out on the whole deal and now regard it as a sham. I can only recommend it if to people who are willing to throw their lives on the scrap heap and watch it all burn. Actually we do have a friend who has made it work, but she is a saint.

It's just one aide memoir, I wouldn't follow anything completely, but Peterson does have an extremely positive position as regards young people. And getting self-actualized if that's not old hat. It sure as hell beats the group identity maelstrom we find ourselves in.

My Mum's just come back home from a major operation on the glorious NHS: they've given her some Codeine and Ibuprofen for pain relief.

She's in agony, this is the reality of what the Brits pretend is the envy of the world.

So envious no one has copied it and with good reason.

It really is crap.

do they not give out pain killers to surgery patients?

Codeine, paracetamol and ibuprofen were good enough for me when I broke my back. Anything stronger is irresponsible.
