It's a highly partisan source of truth-ish news for people who want to confirm their biases and prejudices. It's the alt right HuffPo. Doesn't help anyone's credibility.

Were there any incorrect facts in the articles? I read HuffPo articles and don't find factual inaccuracies.

Generally, what I see is an aversion to quoting the other side, or what CNN has mastered, omitting facts so the topic looks one sides.

With Breitbart, they report on topics that PC news outlets won't. I take the bias into account, but I rather enjoy the exposure to another set of facts.

No. You're not listening. I'm talking about facts that are ignored elsewhere. Breitbart was onto the rape problem in Sweden and Germany 2 or 3 years ago, but only recently because of a Trump comment did it get any attention anywhere else. It's this kind of reporting I am talking about.

It's not really a rape problem though. Rapes are reported differently there vs the US. Breitbart is twisting the facts to suit their story. Hence, "alternative truth", formerly known as lies. #winning #olollolol #nopillsneededtoseethetruth

Facts: The number of reported rapes in Sweden has risen. But the definition of rape has broadened over time, which makes it difficult to compare the figures. It is also misleading to compare the figures with other countries, as many acts that are considered rape under Swedish law are not considered rape in many other countries.

For example: If a woman in Sweden reports that she has been raped by her husband every night for a year, that is counted as 365 separate offences; in most other countries this would be registered as a single offence, or would not be registered as an offence at all.

Willingness to report such offences also differs dramatically between countries. A culture in which these crimes are talked about openly, and victims are not blamed, will also have more cases reported. Sweden has made a conscious effort to encourage women to report any offence.

Again, you're over simplifying a complex issue and twisting the facts to suit your narrative.

That's according to the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå), whose preliminary figures suggest that the overall number of crimes reported in Sweden during the last year was around 1.5 million, only a marginal (6,470) increase compared to 2015.

When broken down to specific categories, reported crimes against an individual increased by seven percent, rising to 275,000.

But a criminology expert has warned The Local that reaching conclusions by analyzing figures for reported crimes is a tricky business.

“Reported crimes are a lousy measure of the development of crimes. The number of crimes reported tends to be dependent on the discussion going on in the country,” University of Stockholm criminology professor Jerzy Sarnecki said.

“What criminologists do is to look at the 10-year, 20-year development. Then we can see the trends. Year to year, it's impossible to judge why changes occur,” he added.

An example of a figure from Brå's statistics which paints one picture in isolation but a different one with further context is that the number of rapes reported in Sweden increased by 13 percent in 2016 to 6,560.

But when that number is compared to 2014, where the number of reported rapes was 6,700, then a slight decrease can actually be seen. In other words, the number of reported rapes in Sweden dipped in 2015 (down by 12 percent to 5,920) then in 2016 it returned to around the same level as 2014.

Seen over a ten-year period, the number of reported rapes has gone up from 4,208 in 2006, partly because of legislative changes in the previous year and in 2013 broadening the definition, according to Brå.

According to Brå's figures, 10,500 incidents of sexual molestation were reported in the country in 2016 – a striking increase of 20 percent on 2015 (when 8,840 were reported).

But once again, 2015 was a year when reported sexual molestation had dropped significantly – it was down by eight percent that year compared to 2014, when 9,640 incidents were reported.

“The number of crimes reported can depend very much on the propensity to report,” Sarnecki noted.

“In 2016 for instance there was a lot of discussion about sexual assault and the relation between sexual assault and immigration. We know through research that those kind of years with more discussion of those subjects see the number of crimes reported increase.”

"The problem with explaining these figures is that very many variables not necessarily related to crime impact the figures. You have to be very careful, in particular if you look at changes on a year-to-year basis," he concluded.

Recent Muslim immigrants are raping women in Sweden and Germany at higher rates and it's being covered up. It's not a narrative, it's happening.

China has a sizeable Muslim population (treatment differs though, Hui vs Uighur), as do Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia (biggest Muslim country in the world I believe). They all have their troubles with terrorism though. Anyways, a global effort would of course have the best results, but when has that ever happened?

Stepping back into the analogy, that is still irrelevant to the question of what action you should take. At that point, there are only two actors of consequence: you and the child. If it appears that the sitter is willing to let the child play in traffic BECAUSE she is confident nothing bad will happen to her kid since you will be there to intervene, THEN it becomes relevant because her action is contingent on yours. This wouldn't justify, alone, letting the child play in traffic, but it at least makes her a relevant actor in the scenario influencing your choice. On the other hand, if the sitter is totally apathetic as to the child's fate, her behavior is entirely independent of your choice and then she again should be irrelevant in your decision making process.

Maybe the Saudi's aren't taking refugees because they know others will, or maybe the Saudi's wouldn't take refugees if they were the last habitable place on earth because they are assholes. I don't know.

The Saudis don't take refugees as they view them as vehicles they can propagate and cascade their culture into the west through. Similar to the compliant and easily purchased western universities.
 
A lot of ME countries soured on taking refugees following the Palestinian exodus. Hard to blame them.
