Im looking for something either the same shade or a bit darker, perhaps even Burgundy?

Let me get this straight.
Bloke has a watch with a GREEN FACE.

Is worried what colour strap goes?

Why worry if its green - get a pink plastic strap!

It's definitely my favourite of three Black Bay watches. For some reason, Tudor have decided to call it "Black Bay Noir", rather than Black Bay Black - although now that I think about it, I suppose that's to permit it to have a different abbreviation (BBN) from the Black Bay Blue/Bleu, which would be BBB.

However, although I generally like it a lot, I can't get over the large crown stalk. At least on the Black Bay Noir, it's black, instead of blue or red, so it's a bit less noticeable, but it's still ridiculously large. Why not just have the crown screw down right up to the case?

Apart from that particular irritation, though, I think that it's a great watch. The fact that it currently has an ETA-derived movement is attractive, as it means that it's cheaper and easier to have it serviced, as opposed to an in-house movement, which you will inevitably have to take to Tudor to have serviced.
 
The Black bay is definitely on my list. Just waiting for a good deal to come through.

the only issue I have is the size. It is quite a bulky watch

Yeah, there's one on eBay for £2100 now, but I think it's a bit much. Waiting till I can pick it up a bit cheaper.

Sadly, very common nowadays. I think that it's 41mm in diameter, which is actually fairly restrained compared to quite a few other watches.

My current watches - one 16 years old, the other one 50 years old - are 36mm and 38mm in diameter, and I don't feel that they are too small at all. The trend towards bigger and bigger watches irritates me.

Yeah, doesn't fit cleanly under most shirt cuffs either, will have to move the buttons. 38mm is the ideal size for me.

It is a dive watch. At 41mm it is not huge as divers go. It is 13mm thick like the Rolex sub. For comparison my Seamaster PO is 42 & 14.5 & Sinn EZM1 is 40 & 16.5. Neither are considered big.

I am seriously considering a Sinn diver for banging in and around the water. Quite liking the look of the titanium models - they are a relatively subtle (@41mm), almost organic design that looks somehow less unweildy than most other dive watches out there, while still being indestructible lunks of Teutonic over-engineering with pressure ratings so ludicrously high you would actually have to travel to Venus to test their limits.

And unlike a Tudor (good watches though they appear to be nowadays) a T2 won't be mistaken for a Rolex Sub, even in the murk of the midnight zone. I have no issue with the Sub as a design but they are the unequivocal favourite of every bearded hipster and cubicle warrior this side of the Pacific, and people who wear them tend to be only slightly less boring than Paneristi (present company excepted).

Sinn is great. Well made. Unique look. Bulletproof design. Like the fact that they have a number of left hand crowns.

I like the 4 o'clock crown in this design.
 
42mm is my entire wrist... Everything seems to big for my baby wrist. I've been looking at buying a old Omega for a daily. Decently cheap, 38mm and easy to get serviced.

rolex datejust - 36mm and not too expensive either
 
Darkside thought of another cheap one for you - Stowa. I think you can get the intro level for $600.

Christopher Ward would be a good choice as well.
 
Anyone have any trusted grey market dealers they use? I am trying to find a discontinued Omega, but no one I have seen carrying it looks terrible legitimate.
