All About Watches

of course its a hoax. have been to cape caneveral. the room looked like the physiksaal in my gymnasium. owning the speedmaster. its not reliable to fligh anything, not at all.

I keep on trying to educate the trolls amongst us, but once again, Longines provides a viable solution where Omega fails.....

This is the watch I use to make the jump into hyperspace, it's accurate to twelve parsecs:

This is a good one too, all the functions needed for time travel and quite handy when navigating back from a DMT trip:

I am an Omega fan boy, and I can promise you Longines has always been way out in front.
Longines as much as you may want it, falls into the mid-range, but high quality. A canny buy. And I know diplomats who sport Longines before other ranges. It says you cannot be bought.

So away with your pretence and BS.

You really are a tedious bore, aren't you? Trolls of distinction have something more in their armory that repeating what others say verbatim like some 8 year old.

So what does my Timex Weekender say?

They better try a different tactic to bribe you as the old tried and tested dazzle them with a bright shiny Rolex isn't going to work on you.

Jack Nicklaus had a sensible approach. One watch - which was a gift from a sponsor. Then offload it when he thinks it will benefit others more than him.

A good mindset is part of the reason he won eighteen majors.

The exit watch strategy is ideal if you're not a watch collector, if you are, then you'll always want more.

You may arrive at the satisfying contemplation that you are merely handing your watch down to the next generation, but what if you have no male heirs?

If someone was to hand fxh a Rolex, he'd snatch their hand off....:)

Sorry to see LB banned. I knew him on the FNB forum before here.

I don't know much about the Russian chap(?) Togliatti or what exactly went on.

Wore this old Mido Ocean Star from my caricoca days with a rather splendid 200 meter rating:

Whilst Mido is the watch of choice of the Thai civil service, how about this Chronometer (possible the cheapest one on the market?) with an 80 hours power reserve:

This Multifort Escape looks a decent beater:

I have no problem with porn (within the usual realms of appropriateness and decorum), but this is not acceptable whether it being straight/gay/latex/fetish, or whatever, it's over 18 stuff.

Therefore I move against you and with force.

Thai Civil Service....?

Aye, it's a bit like Citizen is the watch brand for the developing world. Mido focused on South America (where I bought mine) and the Far East for sometime, for obvious price reasons.

Mido use to be in the top four or six for most COSC certificates issued each year, just behind Breitling, pretty much throughout the 2000's and early 2010's. Not sure where they are now, but I expect in the top ten still. Not bad performance for a cheapish mid-range watch brand.

Forget aesthetics, but for a Chronometer plus 80 hours power reserve, you're getting a well specified watch for a very compelling price. Tissot Visodate territory, but added edge in performance.

Dare I say it: a canny buy!

Nice alternative to a gold tank or reverso, albeit not at twice the price...

that's handsome
I couldn't quite figure out whether the price was in the provenance and story, or the edition of the watch.

Nice, and those in the cheap seats can make do with this baby homage edition:

not bad either but i think telling time on that would annoy the shit out of me.

Those Frederique Constant's appear excellent value. My watch man in The Hague use to rate them as the best high street available non-luxury watchmaker, after, wait for it....Longines. And he dealt mainly with super high luxury end watches for which he use to boast he only needed sell 3 of them a month.
