I am missing balance in the elements on the dial. Moser usually have that.Really like this perpetual calendar from Moser. If I was Rogerherpderp I would buy one to go with my blue Camry!

Of all the recent videos that Rolex have recently produced, this one actually tells a good story. And, with that smooth rotating bezel, that's not an half-bad "replacement" Submariner that James Cameron got there at the end.
That's probably only appropriate for the other James. Ideally with an ill-fitting nylon/cloth strap!Nice story, except for wearing it with a tux!

It is not the 2-liner, JDM version, unfortunately (I prefer that for mostly visual reasons; the "Made in Malaysia" and "Made in Japan" versions are otherwise essentially the same).
But I don't think most people would care. Great beater diver's watch for the price, even better once it breaks $179.99.
They have both models on the rubber strap at the same price point now ($179.99) - ten dollar extra for their version of the jubilee. With the rattly jubilee bracelet, and without surrounds or any other sort of framing for the luminous markers and the day/date display, you get the vintage diver's feel for around 200 bucks. You can hardly beat that.I am not signed up to that site, so could not see the watch. Is that the SKX009? If so, I just picked 1 up a few weeks ago. Loving it as an alternative to my "fancier" pieces.
Nice vid:

What would you like to know? It is a 16753 -- a GMT-Master affectionately called the Rootbeer GMT, Tigerauge, occhio di tigre, etc.. At times, it is also called the "Eastwood," hence the reference to "punks." This is a transitional model from the '80s with the nipple dial and an acrylic crystal.Details?
I think the best homage is the one by seikoboy!Timefactors did a great Fifty Fathoms homage about six years ago now, allegedy had the correct vintage calibration in it. I had one, and stupidly sold it.
Photo?Fine indeed, I've got the Apocalypse Now 6105 mod.

what made you decide to go upmarket from the Seikos and vintage Omegas you had been looking at?
It is not a new purchase. The book on Eastwood in the background is new, though. So is the phone that I used to take the photo.what made you decide to go upmarket from the Seikos and vintage Omegas you had been looking at?

GS 4.5k with dealer discount? Sounds like bullshit to me. I went to the seiko store in miami and top top of the line barely hit that. Also i went to a store here in orlando that sells them and same thing. I believe you 4 grannies with dealer discount for their really high end models. It is not a new purchase. The book on Eastwood in the background is new, though. So is the phone that I used to take the photo.

I don't think that I could go with a vintage Omega off eBay, at any rate. . . Too much risk involved, and they're not as reasonably priced as they used to be.
As for the Grand Seiko, its time will come. But it's not now. Perhaps never for me. I was really impressed with it once I got a chance to check it out in person, but I'm not sure about the dimensions for what I had in mind.
That's an upmarket watch, by the way, no matter how you slice it. Even with a steep discount from a dealer, it would be 4.5k USD before tax (SBGH001).
At that price, I might just go for a 5513, which I always wanted.
