Ask A Quick Question

Is the word "POW" printed on suit, or Prince of Wales plaid? I see nothing!

If the model turned around, you'd see this printed on the back of the jacket:

That was my thought based on what I've seen but I can't believe what they charge.

Prices for "fashion" sneakers are outrageous - they can easily eclipse the prices charged for St Crispin's, Lobb or Edward Green, despite the fact that most of the sneakers made by fashion brands are awful.

A few examples, from an Australian store called Sneakerboy:

Balmain, $1640:

Zanotti, $1783:

A lot of them don't even have stitched soles - they're just glued on - and given the smaller pieces of leather that they used and the fact that the leather is often coated with something, they can use cheap leather, too.

Lol. Too bad White's or Nick's don't make sneakers. He would have been in heaven!

No homo so no anal sorry
sarto - I ask because, as you are no doubt aware, Mr Freud made some of the most radical suggestions in psychology - still - that is that a person may well be driven by, largely erotic, unconscious desires , especially, and thoughts, but live their day to day existence unaware of these primitive drives - say like same sex erotic leaning.

Mr Freud in his genius - even suggested that some people may, embarrassingly, and unknowingly, exhibit these leanings/desire by a seemingly vehement opposition to the very traits and deep desires they experience . In fact, it may surprise you to hear, this was the original, and correct, meaning of homophobia. That is a repressed desire crushed but emerging as a hatred of the unattainable/socially unacceptable desire. Not the current meaning of discrimination against homosexuals.

Hope this helps.

No one looked at the Oscars last night for sartorial inspiration? This forum is more mature than I thought.

I've been wondering about the propriety of men's attire for the Oscars. The red carpet starts at 6pm ET, so 3pm ET and men are already in black tie? Isn't that still the hour for lounge suits and afternoon tea?

Hell, no. I avoid the Oscars and all other such award ceremonies like the plague. Most of the men look absolutely atrocious, in any case.

My sock drawer is all fun socks. I want something bulk and thick to wear work boots with I guess.

I have thick merino wool socks from brownings, they have lasted over 2 years!

Hell, I have costco work socks that do the trick as well. 5 pairs for $24.

Uniqlo socks FTW. I don't know how much they cost in the US, but in Japan you can get four pairs for about $8 and they come in a wide variety of colours and look and feel nice. Uniqlo also introduced a line of Supima cotton socks a year or two back that are thinner and come in a few seasonal patterns as well as plain colours.
