Ask A Quick Question

My friend thrifted a pair of Gustin jeans and claims they are as good as his Raleigh Denim, which he raves about.

I'm not wondering about jeans, I should have stated that (Dumb fucking spic I am), I'm wondering about their Unshirts.

Yeah, I've wondered about them too... I want to pull trigger because the quality of the fabric looks nice. I have japanese oxford for pocket squares that I sew, and it is good stuff. I don't particularly like the smallish collar on Gustin's OCBD.

I just saw Thomas Mason fabric for shirts, that has to be pretty good.

I saw the curry summer one and got me interested, but I have no idea about them.

yes the fabrics which later turned out to be stolen from cappelli. before he had his big styleforum break through.

lolz i think you stole them together
hadd battzecks
then yuo saw him touch the thirst
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

yes i was his accomplice but with the help of sarto turned him in with the guardia di finanza and now i'm in a witness protection program. please keep it quiet.

I have two. They are very good for the price. The sizing chart is accurate. I'm a regular medium or a slim large - the difference is pretty minor.

I noticed that the corner of the waistband of the cavalry twill, or covert, trousers are rounded. My guess is that rounded corners prevent the thickness from layer stacking with folded corners with heavier fabrics?

I don't understand your question Russell.

I found a linen suit in a pattern and color I really like but the pants have a 7 or 7.5" hem, should I even try ordering it or will I look like a Pitti cunt?

Cotton and linen individually are rarely shiny, but cotton linen blends usually are, wtf?

That seems really small, but it may work if one is thin and the cut is good. Have you tried pinning a pair of pants to that size and seeing how it works?

Linen has a sheen to it. I'm guessing that it is more variegated than uniforn in a blend, so the 'sparkle' effect is more pronounced.

To clarify my question, I was wondering if it was common to used curved (or I now learn, chamfered) corners to reduce the build-up of layers at the corner point with thick fabrics. I just looked at a few pair of wide-wale cords and moleskins, and only found that one had a double 45 degree chamfer, life some shirt cuffs. It seems like an effective strategy but I know that it adds time to the construction.

I have shorter inseams than the average size 40 waist, depending on the taper progression and length I can't really know unless I try the actual pants on.

Generally means a suit. You do not have to get out your formal rig.

One month before the RSVP deadline, I decided to be a cheeky bastard and ask what formal dress means. I was told a two or three piece suit is enough. No black tie for the evening.

I shall reply and say I'm disappointed to put away my morning dress and top hat.

Cheers to everyone who already knew that's what North Americans mean.

North American weddings, just put a crease in your sweatpants, pop the collar of your polo and you are good to go

I'm surprised it was formal enough to specify the possibility of a three-piece.

3 pieces are back in with the young people - mostly those who never wear a suit.

You old people are soo out of touch with whats going down on the street in the youth scene.

Someone do me the favor of asking on SF whether NMWA's Eidos jackets are cut exclusively with wider lapels?

I have no idea, NMWA product pics look about an inch wider than what I tried on at Bloomingdales, don't know if illusion or one of Greg's customizations.

A different and somewhat shameless question, anyone ever see a fit of a double breast jacket worn open and look good?

er maybe Letterman occasionally? dunno.

My best mate, never reads forums, actually wears a lot of DB suits - very often undone - hes 6'3" and skinny. But I still don't like it.

No. That was one of the canons I received at the "other" forum. Never mind a suit, I think it looks bad with overcoats and rain coats.

This is my size in everything expect in the Waist across middle button measurement..that jacket is 20 inches and my size is 21.5 ( I measured all my jackets)

so question 1) can I extend the waist 3 inches (1.5 on each side) 2) I know it is a bespoke but it is this measurement more or less standard? He needs to have a very exaggerated drop or a tiny waist!
