So out of the 15 -20 rigs we are batting 1 for the century. That guy is wearing purple tartan, but I give him full marks because he is spot on otherwise. Lilac trousers with braid really set it off.

We might have actually had two proper dinner suits, I think the father of the bride was correct.

Biggest offender by far was pocket flaps, and ticket pockets with flaps. Second was buttons. Tons of two and three button jackets. Douchebag brother in law had high water trousers and Opera pumps with no socks. Also managed to obliviously have his shirt collar over his jacket collar on one side. There were very few waist coverings to be found.

But dinner suit critique notwithstanding it was a fantastically fun party with a killer band.

That's why the true menswear enthusiast should elope. No need to look at others' bad black tie rigs.

What is the Prince of Wales wearing? I saw the bow tie and thought it was black tie but then he has his hand in his jacket pocket and the square is a bit racy.

What does black tie have to do with jacket pockets?

I recall people being chastised on "the other forum" for buying dinner jackets with flap pockets. Maybe I didn't use the right term.

Then voxsartoria said if we end up with the less than canon Madison model from Brooks Brothers we could always just tuck it in but never use it.

Looks like his pockets are jetted, so no issues.

From ten years ago...Do some of those jackets look a bit big? If the royals can pull it off, maybe I can pull it off with my 38 dinner jacket when I'm closer to a 36 now.
