Cop Tyranny Thread

It is not a US problem. It is a cop problem. It's just that everyone judges the US by a higher standard. In Germany cops routinely kill people in custody (for fun, I assume), in Italy they routinely kill and torture protesters either on the street or when they are under arrest. Look at what's happening in France with the gilet jaunes, same thing. It's the same everywhere. Cops are the lowest of the low and the enemy of the people. It's blatantly obvious to anyone who is willing to look.

I don't know anyone who judges US policing to a high standard, even though they do have a tough job. One of the US biggest problems is your gun culture and, your fetishisation and commercialisation of violence.

I remember watching US coverage of the Gulf Wars and they made it look and sound like a Hollywood blockbuster. Look at the sloganeering they used to hide the reality, terms like: 'Shock & Awe', Collateral Damage' I mean, what the fuck...War is a tragedy, it damages everyone.

And, that is a big part of your problem.

US police now mostly have video recordings as a result of earlier incidents that made news headlines.

However, if you look at such PoliceActivity videos on YouTube it shows that the police mostly behave with the patience of a saint. It reminds us that police have to deal with the mentally ill, drunks, those on drugs and just plain dangerous criminals.

When it does kick off the police don’t take any prisoners though....

Check the Ruben Houston case for example.

Houston overdoses and is found comatose on a bus. Firefighters and medics arrive. They administer drugs to save his life. Police advise he goes to hospital for further checks. He refuses and authorities have to waste time indulging and mollycoddling him. He claims he does not like being touched and that he is in perfect health.

Anyway, police ask if he is armed and spot a bulge - which he claims is a phone. He then takes out a gun and shoots the firefighter that saved his life! He is eventually shot and dies. Subsequent enquiries he had a criminal drug history.

It would have been better if he had just been left to die on the bus in the first place.

That comparison is not accurate and for many reasons.

The Met sent over a delegation to Rio to teach the Carioca Policia Militar how it was it done. But what did the Met have to teach a city police force that loses 4-6 police officers a week, week in week out?

Where is the Brit equivalent of Chicago? You know that city where there can be 50 people shot over a weekend. Or 10 people on a weekday. What kind of environment is that for soft police tactics?

The examples above show that absolutism that all cops are the same, or that their experience is universal across the board is not correct. There are good and bad cops, with police forces being exposed to a different environments. The Brit police have certainly lost respect when they changed from a police force to a police service with a different agenda and mission. And I'm certainly no fan of PC Plod as they have become.

There's a madness in the air, here's an example of this from today's Guardian:

All this race baiting is an evolutionary dead end.

The case in point, the police offer concerned is in jail, facing charges. That shows the justice process is working.

why is this madness? did you read the article?

was out protesting over the weekend. saw plenty of cops in street clothes in the protests starting shit.
Hardly a terrorist attack by the police. They're under attack and take action.
tell me again how george floyd attacked them?

actually thats not true. most of these incidents come out because of civilian recordings. you'll notice we haven't seen a single second of body cam footage from the george floyd murder.

I think was all know that the US has a problem with its Policing.
we have a problem with our government. our government has basically turned the cops into the world's largest gang and continue to empower them at every turn.

The head line is race baiting. I despise race baiting for it is retrograde force, the cheapest gimmick in the activists play book, is deeply racist and leads only to heightened racism.

I was referring to the cops in the cars under attack. The George Floyd death is being dealt with through due criminal process. The policeman involved in jail isn't he and will soon be on trial. Sounds like a process towards justice.

Perhaps if your society wasn't so gang ridden and violent in general, you wouldn't need a para-military police force keeping the peace.

the situation described in the headline literally happened just a few days ago. its documented here in one of the threads. a black guy was bird watching and a white woman tried to have him murdered by cop. come on man, get with it.

if you believe that i've got some some land in the everglades that you should take a look at buying.

well i'm very sorry that we haven't completed the white ethno-state wherein violence doesn't exist. although, trump is doing his best to make that happen.

Another individual slips through the narrative matrix:

i love these stories you find. desperately searching for anything to prop up the narrative.

We have a problem with everybody getting in on the act. It was an incident in a minor city in the USA. Yet Lewis Hamilton expects all Formula1 drivers to express an opinion on it.

In London, others have latched on to it as an excuse to claim they have the same problems in England too. Eighteen year olds claim racism is a bigger threat to their lives than corona virus! As the cowboy said, if it’s that dangerous it’s time to get out of Dodge City.

I agree, the looting, stomping on people's heads, masked Molotov cocktail wonders are not Antifa or peaceful protesters, but white Neo-Nazi supremacists in black face Antifa drag. Too much footage out there for that one to work. But I know there's a big push on this narrative today. Nice try, but too ridiculous to counter the facts.

The strategy is there for anybody to read:

some in the group surely are. anarchists and anti-fascists have quite a few things in common.

I don't know that much about them, but they do come across as being anarchists, or maybe they've been infiltrated in some part by far-left groups.

Be mindful, the far left are a bad as the far right. Both authoritarian, both censorious, both intolerant, both violent.

I knew a few at Cambridge, they aren't pleasant people.

In theory, it’s a broad coalition with a single issue in common: confronting actual Nazis. The reality is that there are a smattering of conservatives, libertarians, Jews and others. A few apolitical types who just want to confront and fight something evil. And then a large contingent of anarchists and various flavours of leftists.

From my vantage point, it seems to be the anarchists who are setting the tone.

A lot of antifascist activity is pretty dull. There’s a self-defense class at the local Jewish Community Center, for example. Or gathering intelligence on a local white supremicist With felony convictions, documenting that he has firearms he is not allowed to own and then turning that information over to the police. Dull Simon Wiesenthal type stuff.

But people see some kid in the streets wearing a bandana and that becomes the image that sticks, because conservatives will use it as the new bogeyman (like liberal’s bogeyman of Russia being behind everything they dislike).

Oh, I'm aware of the propensity of rival groups to slur/mischaracterise.

We can all get behind anti-fascism. But Antifa has revolutionary and paramilitary ideals. It's concept of fascism seems very broad indeed including capitalism, the Patriarchy and then you get intersectionality, hierachy of victim hoods and using the rage of black rioters and looters as their attack dogs to destabilize civic society. The rioters are being played, but I don't think their mindset goes beyond the mob and a bit of looting. Once the rioting ends, the revolutionaries won't have much use for those who are repressed, but politically naive. They'll be at the back of the queue come the post-revolution dole handouts.

When I drive into Utrecht from the motorway there's Northern Ireland style graffiti art advising I am entering a zone controlled by Antifa battalion number so and so. I don't like it. The last time I looked there wasn't very many neo-Nazis in Utrecht. I mean real neo-Nazis, I know for some on this forum all cops are by very definition fascist and deserving of death. Including black ones. BLM's, but not black cops, wot?

The contorted absolutist hypocrisy of the retrograde Left is so utterly lacking in humanity and dignity it brings shame on the causes they claim to be holding power to account for. Cynical and evil.

There were no riots, looting, international protests or virtue signalling when a Minneapolis cop from Somalia killed an innocent Australian woman, with no criminal record whatsoever, who had called cops for assistance and was not in the process of being arrested.

This one?

Do you believe all the graffiti you see?

When you go to the toilet in the pub and someone's scrawled "For a good time, call Jenny on 555-555-555", do you give her a call? Or if you see "Kilroy was here" painted on a wall, do you actually think that Kilroy was there?

My point is, of course, that simply because somebody slapped some paint on the side of a motorway overpass, doesn't mean that it represents reality.

There were no riots, looting, international protests or virtue signalling when a Minneapolis cop from Somalia killed an innocent Australian woman.

There were protests in the US and there was certainly international outrage from Australia, both the government and citizens. It attracted a huge amount of media attention here.
