Famous People Who Died

F W de Klerk 85 R.l.P. (Mesothelioma)

Last white president of South Africa.

When it was still a well run country before it transitioned into a black kleptocracy.

A good friend of mine has a contract out on him by that delightful family. Allegedly.
Like that Indian bloke that got his new wife bumped off in South Africa ten years go. Trial abandoned. Convenient.

Dave Draper, the blonde bomber and Mr. Universe has passed away.
He was a humble, fun writer and very generous with his expertise. My kid has a signed copy of his book. Nice guy.

Certainly one of the top men of his day. I can recall he sued Joe Weider over something. Just before jury reached a verdict, he accepted a settlement from Weider. He then learned the jury was going to have awarded him a much larger sum. He said he didn't care, he just wanted to be clear of Joe Weider. Given that many bodybuilders die young and that he had had some other substance abuse problems along the way, he had a pretty good run. He was almost exactly one month younger than I.

Good Lord! I had assumed that Dole had cashed in his chips years ago. A rather lackluster candidate I thought he was.

Yeah, I thought ol' Bob was sort of out of it when he alluded to the "Brooklyn Dodgers," the Dodgers having moved to LA ab out 38 years previously. Nonetheless, I voted for him.

I am rather reminded of how my mother almost to the day she died in 1996 would refer to the United States Air Force as the "Army Air Corps." When I would chide her about this, she would excuse herself on the grounds that she was an old lady. I'd reply, "They changed the name in 1946 when you were the ripe old age of 27."
