I know, and I'm sorry, but that jacket/shirt/tie combo is just horrendous. It looks like something I'd see on the 90 year olds down here.

well he is getting up there in age. i bet it makes him the talk of the town in Dhaka
 
The two tone metal buttons are a very odd choice for that check, which is especially nice up close. He really needs to stop wearing patterns of such similar scale next to each other like the coat and shirt here. Contrast collar and french cuffs with a knit tie is a tad odd.

Is there a cultural proclivity for such flash that we don't get? We see tacky he sees sexy?

Considering what the man has to work with, he is indeed doing an utterly fantastic job. It's as if I was asked to recreate some native dress based on photos alone.
A field trip to Hong Kong or whatever the nearest bastion of decent tailoring is would probably have been wise.
 
The coat fits better than usual. I can't get into checked coats with dark pants.
The pocket placement seems off again, I hate pocket squares over lapels, and I'm iffy on the (MOP?) buttons.
I do like his revival of the tab collar.

I think he should shoot the moon and do a jacket with the latch collar plus a rear pass through game/map pocket. Would be nice in a gamekeeper's tweed. But he would have to choose a very lightweight one for Dhaka. An 8 ounce P & H Solway maybe.
 
Oh geez, send Matt Deckard over to him and get the whole buttoned flapped pleated pockets and bi-swing back with half-belt and whatnot.
Actually, if one could ignore the old 16 oz. bias, the looser old-school stuff like that wouldn't be the dumbest idea for a warm climate.

I'm starting to think he's partially color blind. He's got three different shades of pink there. Who in their right mind would try to match three different shades of the same color?

the King of Dhaka that's who. he is dandy in his candy pink. but seriously, i wonder as he mostly errs to the garish side of things with his ties and squares and they generally clash with his shirt.
 
I still think he does better with a limited color scheme and gets too matchy than when he stretches with clashing stuff. A white and pink tie is tough for anyone.

No problem with pink. I like pink. But in moderation like anything else.

Any colour scheme he selects, the tie, shirt & square tends to clash and/or be on the garish side.
 
Dammit King! Why can't you pull off a classic look without one of those mismatched pocket squares???

no joke this is the best look I've seen from him (tie, I'd go navy with white dots but that's just me). the lapels look like someone confused sharks-mouth with peak and split the difference.

yes. Sharks mouth is for kings, dictators, oligarchs, and would-be world takeover artists.
Fish mouth is for french, other people, and hoi polloi.
 
The silver tonal striped tie is pretty bad. I'm not sure what the story is with that belt buckle either. As usual, I like the fabrics he chooses, and the man has good collars.
 
Maybe I'm just overly familiar, but this jacket seems to lack major fit issues. I really dislike this pocket square altogether. It does make me want a houndstooth suit, to be honest.

All my stuff is undarted, but the pattern alignment at the waist looks like they are doing the patterns a bit wrong. Shouldn't the pattern remain level?
 
I seriously wonder what it is like to be the King's tailor. I get the sense that the key client comes in with photos of totally alien concepts, not quite enough cloth, and expects you to work from previous fittings and present a finished garment. Otherwise I'd think that one could arrive at better (not great, but better) results with a bit of trial and error, or better yet some research.
