News about HM The King and the monarchy

That photo is not racism, how is that racism with references to local customs?

Good to see the MSM in the UK starting to rev-up and get engaged, ready to spill the beans.
They have a tradition of carrying parasitical balding inbreds around? Is that why they look so happy?

According to Lady C, it's confirmed they wanted a special designation as de facto emperor and empress over the Commonwealth which they were going to use to leap-frog and usurp William and Kate. It appears rather plausible.

I can assure there were plots and schemes, the game was very much afoot.

It will all come out, but definitely not until well after the baby has been born and several months later.

Events are already well in the realm of the weird. In the time of weird, always keep your eyes open.

I have it on good authority that they were planning on taking over Ivanka's and Jared's duties as well.
You know, since Donnie is still the president, as we all know. Seems rather plausible.

Back in the real world...Lady C's been misquoted somewhat over the Princess Anne revelations.

The discussion was not about colour, but culture. She had Meghan weighed up as not compatible with the royal family and a potential H-bomb. The discussion was one of the differing cultural norms and the incompatible between royal duty and the Californian celebrity one and how that would be damaging for any future offspring.

Meghan truly believed she was reinvigorating and reengineering the royal family in her own image.

Princess Anne was proved right.

Harry's hustling for his money:

So sad. That last hospital visit was certainly not routine.

It's breaking on NBC and American news media faster than BBC.

This may sound harsh, but it's no sadder than any other death, really.

Still, certainly said for the Queen and their family - the two of them were married for 73 years!

He served with distinction and selfless devotion to the Queen and Commonwealth.

Also one of the few remaining who served in WWII.

Will Harry attend the funeral?

Now this old Malthusian fart can be reincarnated as a deadly virus to reduce the world's population.

His wife is pregnant. Technically she could say she is too pregnant to travel.

I understand, as was his wishes, Prince Philip wanted a ceremonial funeral rather than a state one. In these times the latter might be a problem anyway.

Harry's soiled now, he's a product that doesn't travel well. He'll have to sport a hood to travel in and out.

The BBC News website is pretty appalling, this starts their obituary:

QUOTE
In public, Prince Philip always took second place.
He outlived nearly everyone who knew him and might explain him.
And so we have been left with a two-dimensional portrait of the duke; salt-tongued and short-tempered, a man who told off-colour jokes and made politically incorrect remarks, an eccentric great-uncle who'd been around forever and towards whom most people felt affection - but who rather too often embarrassed himself and others in company.

Always the digs.

poor in taste, absolutely, but not entirely inaccurate.

Yes and no, this a bit later on, I'm still reading: ''He had little, if anything, in the way of agency.''

I am not taking that out of context, they just throw that in for effect.

Here's another subtle dig: ''Despite entering the college far later than most other cadets...''

There's quite a few more.

So he didn't quite live long enough to get a letter from his wife?

Sky says he is coming...no mention of the other one.

She has a legitimate excuse not to.

Harry has no such get out of jail of card. I can't see how the two worlds can be reconciled and he can turn up in good faith. He spurned royal service for some weird Californian celebrity cult and the shallowness of fame. Some still cling to the hope that he's really Hewitt's son. Another ex-officer retired early and gone to pot. Where is Hewitt now? Working as a gardener for his mother, who he lives with. You can fall a long way, ex-soldiers often do. Despite all the discipline and service.

^ Yes, Prince Philip was born in Corfu (as part of the then-Greek royal family) and spent most of his childhood in Paris, so he would have learned to speak French well.

He was sometimes nicknamed "Phil the Greek" so it's a bit surprising that Chretien thought he was English.

Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg Sounds pretty German actually

And he could have become just another beach bum, if he hadn't been rescued and from Paris sent to a tough English boarding school which he enjoyed immensely.
