Random Questions & Thoughts

"A conversational narcissist is an individual who consistently redirects conversations back to themselves, their experiences, and their interests, often dominating discussions while showing little genuine interest in others."

I know more than a few of these.

For a while, I leaned too heavily on trying to empathise in conversations - building a conversational bridge by describing something similar that happened to me. It could come off as narcissistic. So now I’m more circumspect, adding that I can relate because something similar happened to me. No details or elaboration unless they ask for it.

So many people around me with high cholesterol and getting prescribed statin drugs.

The women showing up for this Cardi B concert down the street from me are beyond the term thick. You would think a former stripper would atrract pole dancers.

Never thought there was a whole cottage industry of chain restaurants, buffets, strip clubs and hotels with convention space near the airport.

how is that possible?

I'm going 112km away from me which necessitates a train ride of 35 minutes + a bus of 80 minutes. The round trip is $34.

Plus my usual round trip train to make Sunday family meal (40km).

And then one trip to around the airport area on Thursday.

Some Uber sprinkled in between.

Well yeah Uber - I don't see it as PT but I know technically it is.

Strange days here -PT is all FREE at the moment for 2 -3 months- I see it as an election year gimmick with stupid knock on effects. Partly on long distance trains - over crowded so that theres no seats on 3 hour journeys.

Our son lives up near the NSW border - 400ks away - so sometimes use train to go up and back -roughly a near 4 hour journey - now with free - you can't book a seat - so no way we are going to use train until fares come back and can book a seat.

A few years ago - in another ill thought through gimmick IMO - long distance fares were reduced /capped to $10 max each way - for us old people - $5 -so a return trip to Albury-Wodonga was around $10. But even that has knock on problems. Its so cheap people would book a seat beside them so they had 2 seats to themselves. Also cheap enough so that people would book 2 seats @ $10 each and not take them at all but no one else could book them

Where am in leafy suburban bliss (Luxury Living In The Heart of The Suburbs) 15ks from CBD its around 20mins - 30mins by train - 6 min walk to station. Free at moment but usually $6 max for daily ticket which includes buses and trams..
