Review Of My Formosa Suit From NMWA

Well, SF used to be a place where honesty was valued, but Stitch turned it into a shiny happy place and Fok et al went along with his vacuous back-slapping posts and "Wai u hurt me bro?" PM's when people disagree. So now, as with North Korea, Dissent is No Longer Tolerated and Affiliate Vendors are Coddled, because SF (Fok) is all about Revenue.

Stitch is a bitch.

I post facts about getting a mislabeled jacket. Greg throws in a distractor about me initiating a chargeback. I didn't do it and he got paid. Then he publicly callse a habitual liar and a thief. All because I complained. Greg only takes compliments?
The distraction about the chargeback was effectively used to mar your credibility and your own repeated and very inconsistent attitude about the suit itself is asinine. How many times did you post and then retract your statement saying the suit is fine and the problem is with yourself, your tailor said it fits etc etc. It is just wishy washy basically making you a NMWA fart target. If you had stuck to your guns about the fit even after altering a suit on final sale, Greg would have no choice but to give you a credit or some form of compensation. As is, you played yourself.

When confronted with situations like this - indeed, when confronted with any situation - I always ask myself, "What would Sarto do?"

The time for talking is over. The time for half-slaps is upon us.

I love it. Let's see if Greg shows up and mans up.

Side tracking but David Reeves did 3 MTM for GuP and it was a mess. Initially, he was reluctant to do anything. Once GuP posted fit pix on WAYWRN and people started chiming in, David Reeves jumped to his feet and called GuP. In the end, GuP got a full refund and offered to pay for all alteration.

What does Greg do?
Call me a liar. It's not like he hasn't been paid. Then he cries about me threatening him with a law suit.
I bet he banks more than David Reeves and yet he can't even offer any type of compensation.

It is doubtful that Greg will do anything more let alone comment again on the thread.

Reeves says he does 300 bespoke commissions per year, not sure what the breakdown is between suits and odd jackets.

Greg referred to sales of 2000 sales since NMWA since inception (what is that - 2 years or so?) when he was talking about the three charge backs in total.

I have been politely kicked out of the GNAT thread. It's not even my own thread so I'll save the other poor souls from this headache. Greg and I were exchanging PMs but he decided to post in my thread. So where do I go vent? On a new thread.

Everyone who's subscribed to the thread. They don't want to read about it. I understand.
Fuck them. You want to talk about it go right ahead. Or do it in public here. Stop worrying about their feelings. I wonder how they'll feel when you take a $500+ Hit on the piece of shit mislabeled suit? Wait, no, no I don't wonder because it's not their money and it's not their problem.

There is a place for that and it isn't GNAT.

The thread that no one posts in or even knows exists?

Well, they deleted the new thread that I started.
I was just looking for it.

I gotta admit, all your ninja edits really do not make you look good. You gotta cut that shit out. If you're going to be the captain of the ship you've got to stand on it even after you drive it onto the rocks and it lights on fire.

As an actual captain I can confirm this

Chorn Chorn
Seriously, take my name out of GNAT. I am no longer worthy.

Hey now. Buck up young blood. Just remember you were most likely unworthy before this all occurred. Look at the big picture.

Post the same thread here in men's clothing. You will not have members feeling oogie because you are discussing something rather that virtually deep throating everyone who buys a stellar NMWA product.

I recently purchased a Formosa suit from NoManWalksAlone. I will only state facts here for the benefit of potential buyers.

I ordered my 4th Formosa suit. The previous three suits have been awesome. My review is on the Formosa Minnis grey Fresco suit.

I ordered a size 50R. But to my dismay the shoulder and chest measurements were not within acceptable range.

Chest measurement was 107 cm. NMWA website says 110 cm for size 50R. Off by 3 cm.

Shoulder measurement was 46 cm. NMWA website says 48 cm for size 50R. Off by 2 cm.

For the listed price of $2,175, are the differences in the measurements acceptable?

Allow me to translate these measurements to English.
3cm = 1.181 or ~1-3/16"
2cm = .787 or ~ 3/4"
I have no idea how variable this stuff is, but that seems to be the outer limits of tolerable deviation to me.

A quick story about looking after customers. Noodles spent $8,000 dollars with this Ledouche pestilence, which surely marks him out as a good customer. At the time my incident occurred, I had spent precisely bugger all with my merchant.

I ordered some gilt blazer buttons from Benson & Clegg. After about 10 days they hadn't arrived, so I called up to enquire. The Telephone was answered by a very polite person who apologised profusely, said they had been sent, etc etc, we'll sort it out soonest. I said don't worry, investigate etc, let me know, these things happen, no rush. This was a quarter to five on a Friday.

The next morning a new set of buttons arrived in the post. Not only were they beautiful and very good value, think about what the shop assistant had done. 10 minutes before he was due to knock off on Friday night, he'd been thoughtful enough to put the order together and got it in the post in time time to be picked up and delivered the next day. All this for a first time customer who a placed a tiny order.

That's outstanding service, and it shows their attitude - they saw a minor negative not as an irritation but as an opportunity to create a big positive. I've recommended them to several people since.

I get quite a lot of complimenti on the buttons as well.

This is not a proper review, it is a list of problems.
What I don't understand is why some people were saying that is acceptable for a hand cut suit to have variances of 2 or even 3 cms. Really?

I am sure when Glaghorn goes for his vasectomy he doesn't expect the knife to deviate 1 mm from the traced line

LOL!
Why is everyone in that thread saying they're getting so uncomfortable with this? If they can't handle a simple customer complaint about a suit they can't handle life.

Why did dieworkwear, who has never posted in that thread before, come in and defended Greg while calling Noodles names? Did Fok or Greg ask him to?

So many questions!
Answer 1: because they are there to jerk each other off over their favoured merchant.

Answer 2: if it's not simple shilling, it's probably because he's an asstroll.

I had a similar issue with this shoe vendor. I received a confirm email that said that I should get the shoes in 7 days. After about the 14th day, I finally get to the owner. I ask him what's going on. He apologizes and said that the delay was due to unexpected holiday orders. He overnighted the shoes AND he also sent my wife a free pair of shoes that he let her pick out.

My wife and I once ordered the same tie from Hober (she knows my taste). After both arrived and we realized what happened, I emailed Hober about some other things and mentioned this. He sent me another tie though he had no reason to.

Noodles Noodles this isn't a review. This doesn't go over your entire history with NMWA. This doesn't address any of Greg's complaints about your specific behaviors in this transaction.

Step up your game. This shit won't fly here.

I thought the measurements were fine but the labeling is off? Didn't it have the dimensions of a 48R but was labeled a 50R? That seems like a more reasonable and likely mistake on the part of Formosa.

And I will not be going to Formosa for my vasectomy. I prefer more structure with my testicles.

What irks me...well, several things on both sides irk me...is that gdl, operating as a business, posted the financial details of an unrelated transaction with a customer. That feels like the most line crossiest thing done (in public) by either party. I hope gdl removed that post; we chatted very briefly via PM about it.

Am I nuts though? Is this actually a minor thing?

On one hand, it is inappropriate to share the bit of information with the world; it has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

I can see why he did post it: to provide evidence that Noodles is a difficult customer and that it is not solely the suit issue.

This crosses the line, I think, from being an AV to a SF member. A blurry line at best, which is a problem.

It was born out of frustration though it is completely wrong. A response to a public airing of an opinion about which he disagrees.

He needs more friend customers. But then again, it's hard to attract friend customers when your thirsts are modern, without many years on their shoulders.
