Fascinating read in that doodles thread and the remote suit fitting/altering/whining/ saga.

No one has any idea how to measure a suit. No one knows what tolerances are acceptable in clothing. No one knows how much ease is built into a decent suit - or not. Everyone is an expert - on everything and nothing.

As I understand it so far:
Bloke buys suit costing in excess of usa$2,000+, doesn't try it on - at all, takes it to local "Tailor" has it altered, wears it to work a bit. Eventually posts bad pictures on web to ask other idiots if suit fits or something. Assembled idiots chime in and some almost consensus says it might not be "The Perfect Suit". Bloke attempts to measure suit against some standard - god knows what and decides he was taken for a ride.

Meanwhile most normal viewers and lurkers seem to think suit is OK at least and not too bad at all. Over several weeks bloke with suit sets about to nit pick, with the aid of assembled idiots, imagined deficiencies in suit. Bloke then seeks to shame vendor by publicly complaining about a measurement - not whether suit fits or is made ok or fit for purpose.

Hilarity ensures with the idiots who can type suggesting bloke alters body shape and genetics to better fit suits. In general.

Rest of world mistakenly thinks suits should minimize body deficiencies not the other way around. Rest of world mostly thinks suit looks OK. Vendor caves in offers some $ for alterations. Purchaser purports to receive advice that alterations can't or shouldn't be done or more likely in my view DON'T NEED TO BE DONE.

Purchaser whines again publicly. Vendor tells customer publicly to "Get Fucked". Mayhem ensures on online forums.

Meanwhile....

Noodles and In Stitches are two of the most prominent cancers that are killing SF. IS with the shilling, cosplay and horseshit expertise. Noodles as a variation on Foo, asking advice but never listening (Foo because he already knew what he wanted and was only "asking" so he could satisfy his ego and his autistic need to argue; Noodles because he is an attention whore and a general dipshit.).

Noodles was just as much a sheep as anyone on that thread, only with buyer's remorse and unrealistic expectations stemming from a dilettante's desire to be part of the in-crowd. The Noodles thread is all that is wrong with SF in one handy location. Faux-expertise? Check. Shilling? Check. Herd mentality? Check. Reckless promotion of financial irresponsibility? Check.

I am glad Noodles got screwed.

No. The simple answer is Noodles. DWW is thick as pigshit, but can actually conjure up a comprehensible post every now and then. Noodles is the guy who is so mentally insufficient that he lowers the IQ of those around him.

Dieworkwear is on my ignore list now, can't stand him. He's way too self important, coming into threads and trying to make them about himself, just like Foo used to do. I bet they're both an only child.
