Well what's the rest? That just looks like a normal shell #8 to me. What am I missing?its part of it.
Well, yes, but that's a style choice. Given that this is the shoe care thread I was assuming there was something wrong with the finish.Straight lacing a derby with fun laces is a rather odd choice.
I don't know my shoe colors. That plum color is normal, and the shine is from being cordovan? That just looks like a normal shell #8 to me.

I'm honestly at a loss. Yes, the lace choice is odd, and the crease is prevalent, but the finish of the shoe looks quite nice.tell me. I'm interested to hear what I'm probably missing.
Why don't you lay it out for me as to what you believe the problems are.
Great. Here is a link to adding solvent back in but it seems to be an involved, dangerous and smelly process.

Does anyone know how to remove salt stains? I always brush my shoes, dry them and use shoe trees, but the salt stains won't go away. I even bought some salt stain remover, but the area remains rough and a bit bubbly. Does this means the toe caps are just permanently ruined?
Lexol darkens a bit, right?
