Taxes are voluntary as a portion of living in a country that has them. If you do not like paying taxes then renounce your citizenship and move to a different country.
Good luck. Not too many places left that are not in on that gambit.

Who is forcing you to use the stock market?
If your free will dictates you want to participate, then you should have the ability, unencumbered.
That's all it's ever been about since the beginning of time, and also how it's supposed to work.
And this is pretty much the issue. There is no "should". It doesn't exist. It's a construct of man. There is or isn't, and that's all. I'm not obfuscating here, or sidestepping, or any of that. this is the basis of the whole concept, and what I mentioned all those pages ago in my first real comment.
It's dead simple. Everything in this thread is just rearranging ideas and false connections to create an explanation for a moral conception.
I find it amusing and disconcerting that humans by nature always figure out subconsciously how to play out the natural impulse to the benefits of social interaction, yet when trying to conceptualize it always invert it. The simple becomes complex and the nuanced becomes binary. Humans are unquestionably driven by natural social instinct which benefits us as a species. We are communal by nature. We aren't going to collectively subvert our tribe, and as our tribe globalizes, we are going to end up with a single community most likely. We do that very subconsciously, along with a million other communal behaviors we don't even realize we are doing. When we try and conceptualize it, many come to completely inverse conclusions from reality. We put all sorts of complex imaginary systems and groupings to explain basic forces, and hyper simplify individual desire and reaction to stimuli. Karl Marx, who has basically been completely discredited in serious academic work for a couple decades now, is a prime culprit. The notion of two classes was just as hilariously ignorant in his work as it is in this thread. There are constant gradations of status and rank, with each individual subgroup of finer and finer gradation with it's owns needs and impulses. It's no different here than anywhere else. That's the reality.
Everyone is out for his self to maximize the power they can wield, with conscious or subconscious tradeoffs of what they are willing to do to get it. Some are going to always be at the bottom, and known in their psyche they are being bought off, some refuse to let any moral compunction get in their way to that top, and the vast majority are somewhere in between and subconsciously understand that self interest includes a functioning society and therefore basic social constructs.
This is pretty much all I have to say on the topic, and I say it in all seriousness. It's not a rationalization, it's reality.
P.S. David Cannadine does a great book called Class in Britain, which is very good at analyzing and conceptualizing class structure and is applicable way beyond Britain.
I disagree. In a tribe there are leaders and followers, throughout the bulk of history there were lords and serfs, masters and slaves. The less hierarchical structure and the notion of a middle class are very modern and they seem to be disintegrating. The notion of two classes was just as hilariously ignorant in his work as it is in this thread.
If – as you argue – the majority does not rule, who does?
Mostly affluent Americans, corporations, and business oriented interest groups. Our research shows that economic elites and groups that represent business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy. These results provide substantial support for theories of Economic Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism. In contrast, it seems that theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism fail to adequately describe the process of U.S. policy formulation today.
"Will you marry me? Did he leave you any money? Answer the second question first."
The majority are a bunch of assholes. We don't live in a democracy, America is a republic. I would hate to live in a democracy.
Good thing we don't live under the rule of the elite, then.
And No, it was a communist dictatorship.
Yeah and North Korea is a democracy. Just because you call yourself something doesn't actually make you that thing.

Still a $100 billion company.Lol, IBM.
Please explain to me why you think that a (true) republic is not a democracy. A republic is defined by being a form of government where the people rule - which includes having the power to vote, and also to elect and re-elect as the majority wishes.
Obviously, the UDSSR, and even the GDR, called themselves republics, but they weren´t.
Although I understand that it might not look like the USA are a democracy, they are. They are neither a monarchy, nor a dictatorship - so, yeah. You could argue that America is being governed by corporations, but even then, the public would have a right to vote, by their power to favor certain brands over others.
FYI, that money is not for winning, it's for stealing. Campaign spending means kickbacks. There is gerrymandering to stay in power. These elected officials don't give a fuck about you, they just care about accumulating a bigger campaign war chest than the next guy.
Where did that discuss inflation?Jesus Christ, does your socialism know no bounds? Deflation would be good for the poorz. It means their money would be worth more. Inflating money for the next generation just means prices rise and your $1.50 per hour is worth less.
6) Rich people buy securities. The middle class and below buy goods.

You're not referring to the poor necessarily, you're referring to stupid people. i don't have pity for stupid people.
What's your excuse then?Poor not stupid people don't stay poor for long.
So basically he wants to increase taxes and expenditures? How is this new, he has raised taxes at every opportunity and failed to pass any budget that lowers expenditures.
How is this not an issue for you? Why should one group pay for everyone else? You admit it is bad moves but your class hatred blinds you to the reality of the situation.
People pay according to the tax code. Fairness has nothing to do with taxes, it is institutionalized theft.
Why is it balanced for one group to be robbed at a greater rate so that other people get robbed less? More government intervention leads to a smaller elite with a higher concentration of power. This sounds like typical elite/liberal drivel - throwing the small fish into the fryer so the big fish just get bigger.
So how does this little program of yours work when the rich just bank all their dividends over and over again?Because that's money that was already taxed when it was earned in the first place. Whether that was 10 or 100 years ago it was already taxed. Why should money be taxed twice?
Alright then dr. If this is your stance then I'm confused. Because you have a problem with capital gains tax and you have a problem with dividend income tax. Yet you're ok with the rich essentially bankrolling themselves for life off investments. What gives?I'm fine with that. That's where (when the government isn't subsidizing loans to poor people that can't be paid back) loans come from.
You're completely off your nut.Yes. It's not my business where their money comes from. Especially now. You communists need to stop thinking in 20th century terms. We are going to live forever. If not dividend and cap gains income then what? You expect us to have to work forever? SS is going insolvent in 20 years so it's invest or rust.
Because that's money that was already taxed when it was earned in the first place. Whether that was 10 or 100 years ago it was already taxed. Why should money be taxed twice?
There's really only 2 things the rich can do with their money. Save it or spend it.
Why should they not be fine bankrolling themself for life? They earned their money, why should it be taxed again and again until everyone is poor?
One common thread with these populist arguments is that they don't seek to make everyone rich - just to not let anyone have more then the person making the argument. Avarice is not becoming.
