It's not a tie if it isn't tied. Somewhere I saw long wood ties that were basically toothpick-width slivers glued to a fabric base.
Even ventriloquist dummies get fabric bow ties, I think.

More of my thirsts. First four are from T&A, last one from Boss before I knew any better. The thirst does have a nice texture though.

These are true ancient thirsts, the T&A ones having many months on their shoulders and dating back to 2014 (perhaps even 2013 in one case). Left to right lace weave, lace weave, herringbone, herringbone, unsure (Boss thirst is prehistoric, having perhaps 15 years on its shoulder).

Lighting's not great but the colours are reasonably true.

I'm so confused. Are the dots woven or printed? Some have a herringbone fabric as well?
A few bold summery colors there.
Also, how all do ties die? Usually by staining, I presume, but I have one where the tip frayed, and a few that started getting twisty. Mending busted keepers, labels, even the slip stitch is easy enough.

These are pure woven thirsts (dots woven as well), using ancient techniques of early 2010s. Skill for such weaving probably lost now in mists of time, perhaps deliberately destroyed by tacky unmen who do more collect rectumite diseases than study art of make ties.

You can see close ups on the site, these are still current. The herringbone is very fine and subtle, I liked it because it was just a bit more interesting than a flat weave. The colours are a bit bright and bold, but they're not at all shiny. Probably not forum-approved, but they do work well with my suits (in my opinion at least).

my wife complains that all my ties have little flowers

you have lots of dots

now whats worse

buy some 100 flower ties
and let her know that one tie costs EUR100
and make her understand that this means 2.5 chanel bags

2.5 chanel bags for 100 euro? Only if they are bought from the maximum pigment street salesmen near the molo and the Piazza Garibaldi on Napoli.

Not the best craftsmanship, but better than the wares sold by Lino Lettuce, unman buffon who gets half-slap if he ever approach true grand master tailor of Napoli. Camorra boys probably also take him for a ride if he ever dare to show his thumb sticking out from Spanish sleeves on Napoli.

eh no
100*100

Well, thankfully she doesn't really like Chanel anyway. She used to like the perfumes - Chance and No. 5 - but she's switched to Penhaligon's now.

She doesn't mind my ties, but only because I buy real ties. If I came home with a number 7 thirst, or real ancient screen print thirst with two weeks on its shoulder, she give me the full slap (full slap not half - I am strong like bull, not weak like Pitti tackies, so I can receive full slap without death).

I've got a couple of those same ties. Passed one onto Zé Ferreira Zé Ferreira awhile back.

Thanks mate. The blokes aren't too bad over here, not too many girlymen. FNB has got very quiet in recent months. Only intended making limited posts here, but bad habits have set in....I need to get more disciplined and stop the rot.

Well that is a ringing endorsement if I ever heard one!

Some of the ties that bind.
(I came across this old pic of mine a while back and posted it on WIWT - didn't realise this thread was here - of course - it was called neckties - didn't someone else mention neckties is a weird word - its ties)
I feel secure having a lot of them but in truth I could exist with just a few - 4 silk knits - black, navy, brown, burgundy.
