I've done it. I've facilitated a giving act over the internet between two strangers. The forum's purpose has been fulfilled!

Whelp, he's not gotten back to me yet...
He's not all that invested in this place. Or, maybe he's on a religious sabbatical. If not, then you should send them out to someone else who might want them.

EDIT: Whoops, saw that post was actually before I pm'd you.

Chorn Chorn , have you tried Kamakura's ties? I really, really like their shirts and want to pick a few up for this summer's work - the ties look fun, but was wondering how they hold up to other known brands?

Some Poole house pattern ties I picked up the other week in London.

What is that fantastic blue Herringbone jacket material in the suit supply pic!? Do want.

I'm considering going for these two ties from Henry Carter, I really like them. The fisrt one looks a ot like the ones from Conrd Wu and the other one is superb.

I like #2 a bit more too but since I like brown ties and a have no brown ties I think both could work. Or should I give a chance to a navy one like the second one?

It's a very reasonably priced wool-cashmere blend. Made in England, but without selvedge

Betel, get the second one. But Carter's new set of Macc's is generally fantastic. He really upped his game with this selection.

There isn't a single on there that I wouldn't happily own. The order in which I'd buy:
The brown with blue and orange florets.
The orange (more out of need than preference)
The other brown (because I'm Claghorn)
The burgundy (though it seems more like a dark red)
The mid blue neat with white and green florets.
The navy with brown and blue florets
The navy red pindot

Oh, I didn't see the second set of Maccs on the HC page. That navy w/ red dots is lovely. and I like the burgundy one.

Northern? Since when did they move the capital of the Confederacy north?

This Passaggio Cravatte affair has me realizing that the fabled unlined 7-fold tie just doesn't do it for me. At least not those rolled edges.

I'm really not feeling the love for these translucent ties where you can see the construction. Give me an opaque lined tie that doesn't look so DIY.

Something to be said for this. 7-fold, unlined ties may have their place but they are not the be all and end all. Unlined and hand rolled edges have the artisanal aspect but that is for us. To those looking at our ties they see fabric and colour that they might like but on closer inspection they see irregularities in shape and wonder why things aren't sharp and straight like the tie they bought at TJ Max.

More folds, more fabric means more to flap around when the Passaggio slip stitch gives way ending in a major tie malfunction with thirst flying everywhere.

One think about untipped handrolled ties is that they lose their shape, especially on 7 fold after a few uses. That is normal, on Naples people takes the ties to reshape for few euros but that is not possibly on other places.

That is why Borrelli does in 3 fold untipped. stands better .
