Well, they are British, so they know shit about how the economy will behave. And the UK economy can't get a lot worse.
Besides, since when are politicians alone responsible for economic crashes? Last time I checked it was bankers and Wall Street folk.
And the only reason why there will be a trade war with China (Trump or not) is the US' attempts to isolate them. See TTIP, TISA and TPP. They all exclude China, Russia, India and Brazil.

There is no trade war with China brewing. China needs us to buy their shit, and will for many, many years to come. We are a third of their exports just by ourselves. TPP is a rule setting device anyway, it isn't going to up any trade. China will most likely be in it soon regardless.

The joke, here, is that the civilian leadership doesn't see this happening. Most of the leaders on the Right yelling the loudest for WAR! NOW! never served, nor do any of them even have kids who served. Plenty of Democrat vets, though, funny enough. And they're hesitant to send us to war. Across the board, it seems. They want to see more information before deciding these things. Figure that one out.

The war-lovers and podium-thumpers on the Right (who keep voting down veterans' benefits, naturally) don't -- can't -- understand the shift in mentality of the U.S. military. They don't see it; they're working off old data. And they're in for a shock if they think the next war will go the way of the last one. Yes, we'll do our jobs as required by law, but that "legal" part is the big catch.

And you can expect the intelligence community to call bullshit when they see it. Civilian leadership hasn't come to terms with that, yet, either.

Honestly, the entire government is way less hawkish than 10 years ago after a tiring pointless war. You couldn't muster any sort of votes for that shit today if you tried, regardless of a few of the chicken hawks protestations.

Luckily, Germany stays out of international conflicts, at least when it comes to actual fighting/ bombing.
And for a reason. The Bundeswehr was designed to defend Germany and not to operate in foreign countries.
And we're lucky that nobody attacked us. Based on my infantry training (mostly indoors, cleaning guns that had hardly been used again and again), I would not have survived for long. The shots I've fired at standing targets are probably a lot less than 500, and that includes the fake plastic ammo we used. And I did more shooting than the regular BW soldier.
Due to budget cuts the Bundeswehr is now hardly operational. The latest embarrassment was the participation of the Luftwaffe in Syria. Only a few Tornado air planes were actually operational, and only during the day.
Some German soldiers are still stationed in Afghanistan, many come back with mental problems. They have not been prepared for the gruesome attacks, it was supposed to be a peace keeping mission. Apparently, nobody told the Taliban.

So if Trump gets elected and does get along with Putin, maybe all this warmongering can come to an end.
His problem will be to find decent ministers and advisers. From what I can see so far, right now many of them are just too much lobbyists to do any good for the public.

I don't think that China will be included in any of the new, upcoming trade treaties. They are mostly drafted to cater to the needs of US corporations, with the ability to actually sue a country should it dare to oppose the shitty US standards and threaten profits.
Chinese corporations are still mostly state owned, and if they get threatened by a foreign corporation it's quite easy to figure out what's going to happen. Good luck trying to take the Chinese government to court.

They actually hurt US corporations in several ways. The best they can be seen as is a wash. The biggest beneficiary is foreign workers who are getting a pay raise. The upside for the average joe in the US is they have slightly less guilt buying their Vietnamese made clothing.The thing the bleaters miss is we are already trading with these people wide open. That ship has sailed. Passing the TPP or not isn't going to change that.

China will want the same efficiency gains these partnerships bring, I would say in the next decade the two Asian trade blocs will effectively merge. It was all about who was writing the rules. If the US hadn't been so stubborn to start, the TPP never would have even happened.

Trump's daughter, Ivanka, converted to Judaism some years ago, before marrying her husband. I remember reading that Ivanka's husband (also a real estate developer) has donated quite a bit to the US Democratic Party in the past, so I don't know what family dinners are like in the Trump household.

I can see it's Hillary's "home state" since she was Senator there and seemed to continue residing there after that. Can't see it as Sanders' home. Where are all these ethnic minorities in New York?
