My mother's around the same age and I've had the same experience. I'm baffled how my mother could survive in the medical profession but luckily she retired a few years ago.

I gave her an old iPad 3 which she uses religiously but she stored so much rubbish she is asking me for a new one and refuses all iOS updates - at the risk of losing the bloated apps or in actuality, inability to download them. She got 80 MB of sample project pictures from a contractor in Gmail but had no space to download it, wouldn't use a PC, and ended up asking the contractor for real addresses so she could go over there and inspect it herself. Copy & paste with a two button mouse was never mastered.

This part about Hillary is completely believable.

Have you folks dealt with women close to 70? They're all like this. Unsteady gait, falling over on flats on clear days with no pedestrian or traffic in sight. My aunt just broke both femurs and her wrist slipping on a step. FDR did the job in a wheelchair and JFK was hooked up on medication.

You're right. The optics look bad once again. Like a Greek mythology character, her or her campaign are cursed repeating the same mistakes.

I'm not sure when that wears off but Governors, Senators, Congressman retain that. I still hear people calling Howard Dean governor, although to me he's more a Dr.

In American political discourse, it is common practice to refer to politicians with the title of the highest political office they have ever held. This is especially so, if they are not actively holding another political office while running a campaign. Hence, Speaker Gingrich, Governor Romney, and still. . . Governor Palin!

In a series of emails Colin Powell went after both Bill and Hillary Clinton, as well as Donald Trump.

Let’s take a look, followed with “real juice”.


Newly released emails reportedly hacked from former Secretary of State Colin Powell’s account show him calling Donald Trump a quote “national disgrace” and “international pariah.” He also reportedly criticizes Hillary Clinton’s camp for trying to drag him into her email scandal.

He calls Trump “a national disgrace and an international pariah” who led a “racist” birther movement. And he says that he resented Clinton’s dragging him into her email problems and that “everything [she] touches she kind of screws up with hubris.”

The emails were first reported by BuzzFeed and the Intercept after being posted under password protection on DCLeaks.com, a site with ties to other recent hacks of U.S. political figures and groups. A Powell spokeswoman confirmed to The Washington Post that the emails are Powell’s.

“We have confirmed that the general has been hacked and that these are his emails,” spokeswoman Peggy Cifrino said. “We have no other comment at this time.”

When news broke that former Secretary of State Colin Powell's emails were hacked, just about every mainstream media headline read: "Colin Powell calls Donald Trump a 'national disgrace.'"


I get the punch that headline packs. But it misses the bigger takeaway from those leaked emails: They are far more damaging to Hillary Clinton than to Donald Trump.

The "revelation" that Powell has disdain for Trump can't be much of a surprise given his past endorsement of President Barack Obama and the fact that so many of his fellow generals and national security peers have publicly pushed back against the Republican nominee for months. Plus, seeing Trump being called a national disgrace or worse in the news media is pretty much an hourly occurrence in America these days and he's still surging in the polls.

Far more damaging are the emails where Powell discusses Clinton, her email scandal, her health, and her apparent hatred of President Obama. I suspect each of these suddenly very current topics, and not the slam on Trump, are the real reason why the alleged hacking outfit, DCLeaks.com chose to publish the emails now.

With Clinton's email scandal still very much in the news, it's disastrous that several of the hacked Powell emails contain his strong explanation of how his use of private email was fully legal and Clinton's was not. He also expresses serious anger at the Clinton campaign's attempts to compare her conduct and email server use to his own while he was Secretary of State. The emails show Powell has been concerned about this issue for more than a year and expressed frustrations with how Clinton has approached the scandal and his own relationship to it. And based on his anger over how the Clinton campaign handled the issue, the emails make it seem like Powell would have otherwise publicly endorsed Clinton over Trump by now. That endorsement is something one of Powell's Democratic email correspondents says would be a "knockout blow."

Even more timely are the references Powell makes to Clinton's health in a series of emails with Jeffrey Leeds, who heads the Leeds Equity Partners investment firm and is also a top Democratic party donor. Powell is a member of the Leeds Partners advisory board. In one email to Leeds, Powell writes that Clinton "does not look good" and is "working herself to death." Leeds also weighs in on the Clinton email scandal and added that "nobody likes her."

But the truly most damaging thing for the Clinton campaign in this pile of hacked emails are the discussions about President Obama and how Clinton apparently feels about him personally. Make no mistake, Hillary Clinton's liberal supporters will clearly forgive her for almost anything — from lying to the FBI to lying to everyone else about her health. But any evidence that shows she does not like their untouchable hero in President Obama will be the toughest pill to swallow.

In several emails from Leeds to Powell, Leeds says that Clinton hates and envies the president in the extreme. Leeds adds that she will sometimes refer to President Obama as "that man." Finally, Leeds tells Powell that the Obama team wouldn't mind seeing Clinton lose. The timing on this couldn't be more devastating — it comes just as President Obama is taking to the campaign trail to help Clinton while she recovers from her medical problems.

To be clear, this is secondhand information — it's according to Leeds (and from his hacked emails, no less), not from Clinton herself. However, if you ask me, it's still pretty damaging.

Remember when Republican infighting and questions about Trump's fitness to serve were the big issues in this election? There's nothing like seeing your opponent have to face the same challenges from her own camp to level the playing field. The downward spiral for Clinton that began with the release of her FBI questioning transcript and continued with her public medical episode and questionable explanations for it, is now spinning at full speed with these hacked Powell emails.

You can focus on those "national disgrace" headlines all you want, but the damaging trend for the Clinton campaign has just been given yet another serious push.
 
This is all quite interesting and not surprising. She is not good at hiding her loathsome character.

Hacked Audio Reveals Hillary Clinton Sees Herself Occupying “Center-Left to Center-Right”

IN THE HACKED recording of a private conversation with campaign donors in February, Hillary Clinton distanced herself from progressive goals like “free college, free healthcare” and described her place on the political spectrum as spanning from the center-left to the center-right.

Clinton has been inconsistent in the past about espousing political labels. She has at times touted herself as stalwart liberal. For instance, she said last July: “I take a backseat to no one when you look at my record in standing up and fighting for progressive values.” But a few months later, she told a group in Ohio: “You know, I get accused of being kind of moderate and center. I plead guilty.”

The newly disclosed comments came in audio, apparently from hacked emails, that was revealed this week by the Washington Free Beacon, a conservative blog run by a Republican communications strategist. Clinton was speaking at a Virginia fundraiser hosted by Beatrice Welters, the formerU.S. ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, and her husband Anthony Welters, the executive chairman of an investment consulting firm founded by former Clinton aide Cheryl Mills.

Clinton’s opponent at the time, Sen. Bernie Sanders, was pointing to successful programs in Norway and Sweden, which provide universal daycare, family leave, and government sponsored healthcare and college education, as policies that he would seek to adopt.

CLINTON: It is important to recognize what’s going on in this election. Everybody who’s ever been in an election that I’m aware of is quite bewildered because there is a strain of, on the one hand, the kind of populist, nationalist, xenophobic, discriminatory kind of approach that we hear too much of from the Republican candidates. And on the other side, there’s just a deep desire to believe that we can have free college, free healthcare, that what we’ve done hasn’t gone far enough, and that we just need to, you know, go as far as, you know, Scandinavia, whatever that means, and half the people don’t know what that means, but it’s something that they deeply feel. So as a friend of mine said the other day, I am occupying from the center-left to the center-right. And I don’t have much company there. Because it is difficult when you’re running to be president, and you understand how hard the job is — I don’t want to overpromise. I don’t want to tell people things that I know we cannot do.

Clinton went on to explain why she felt so many Democratic voters were gravitating to Sanders.

CLINTON: Some are new to politics completely. They’re children of the Great Recession. And they are living in their parents’ basement. They feel they got their education and the jobs that are available to them are not at all what they envisioned for themselves. And they don’t see much of a future. I met with a group of young black millennials today and you know one of the young women said, “You know, none of us feel that we have the job that we should have gotten out of college. And we don’t believe the job market is going to give us much of a chance.” So that is a mindset that is really affecting their politics. And so if you’re feeling like you’re consigned to, you know, being a barista, or you know, some other job that doesn’t pay a lot, and doesn’t have some other ladder of opportunity attached to it, then the idea that maybe, just maybe, you could be part of a political revolution is pretty appealing. So I think we should all be really understanding of that and should try to do the best we can not to be, you know, a wet blanket on idealism. We want people to be idealistic. We want them to set big goals. But to take what we can achieve now and try to present them as bigger goals.

Clinton has been accused numerous times in the past of patronizing young Sanders supporters. On Meet The Press in April, Clinton said she said “I feel sorry sometimes for the young people” who believe Sanders’s claims about her taking money from the fossil fuel industry.

During her remarks, she reiterated her belief that politics is the art of the possible, dismissing the more aspirational approach of Sanders and his supporters. “I want to be very clear about the progress I think we can make,” she said.

Seasoned politician panders to get votes from a perceived base. Nothing new here. I'm not surprised at all if her real views don't perfectly line up with how she is selling herself to voters.

I recall many years ago making a remark like that concerning a certain female entertainer to my best friend. His reply, "It would be more germane to ask whether there's any woman you wouldn't like to fuck!" He knew me well.

this whole thing is fucking ridiculous. what 60 year old rich man wouldn't say things like that? i know he was forced to give the apology but I honestly think it might end up harming him in the end. if he would have owned it as "locker room talk" or something of the sort, and basically flipped it on the democrats as being a party full of pussies, i think it would have played out better with the base. with women, not so much, but i think it would have been a net gain.

He has a long past of claims that could break out at any moment, I think the NR is running one today actually about him assaulting some girl in Ivanka's bedroom actually, and given he needs women's votes so unbelievably critically right now, I'm not sure a worse thing could have popped up.

Plus that Reagan meme is literally the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life.

The ivanka bedroom lady has been out there for a while.

I'm not sure what admission of sexual assault he actually made on the tape. There were no names and no admissions other than the pussy claim. The debate will be the test to see if he can weasel out of this.
