The Next Election, Political News, and Other Forms of Comedy (US, UK, & Intl)

They will just retell all that we already know. This administration is a mass criminal enterprise.
The difference is that right now the Republican Party are in a Faustian pact with Trump. Once that fully breaks, he will be scorned and pilloried from both left and right.

you guys are nuts. he's the only popular politician in the republican party at the moment. these people would walk on water for him.
The politicians don't. They just cower while hating him.

I'm of the opinion he is the nominee in 24 btw, so don't misconstrue what I'm saying. After he is dead and gone though he will be ridiculed like nothing we have ever seen

You mean Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, Marco Rubio and Mitt Romney aren't popular?

“Outside Democrat groups and high-dollar donors spent big to try and help Democrats regain control of the Senate in the last election — pouring in hundreds of millions of dollars in the weeks leading up to November 3rd. Now, after the party performed poorly in down-ballot races, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., is no longer meeting with donors, a source familiar with the matter told NBC News.

Schumer is ’pessimistic’ about Warnock and Ossoff's chances in Georgia next week and doesn't want to ruin donor relationships, the source adds.”

More Democratic trauma of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

^Once again, the hypocrisy from the Republicans is astonishing.

Trump and the Republican Party spend five years chanting about "Lock her up", calling Democrats all sorts of names and hurling abuse - but one Democrat says a bad word and suddenly the Republicans are screaming about it.

But one thing for certain, and this ain't no conspiracy theory bro': large swathes of the losing side is going have distrust and doubts over the legitimacy of the new presidency.

Unfortunately, you are correct.

However, the reason you are correct is not because there are any actual reasons to doubt the outcome of the election. Instead, it is because the losing side has spent the past seven weeks doing its damndest to cast doubt on the outcome of the election through the deliberate and knowing promotion of outright falsehoods and ludicrous conspiracy theories.

Who is this Senator Josh Hawley? Is he a loyalist or opportunist?

The Democrats have some form here too. Had Trump won the election it would be Russian interference all over again to the backdrop of America's cities burning.

The question is not whether there was fraud, but whether the fraud was enough to sway the election.

And unless Trump had a whistleblower with the blockchain digital evidence leading to the key deep state and Democrat players, it was all a waste of time, as the election is never going to be over turned on the affidavits of Republican counting observers and strange patterns in vote dumps.

Unproven claim. No facts support this statement.

Unproven claim. No facts support this statement. 60+ court cases, not one single piece of evidence. No facts support this statement.

"blockchain digital evidence" is not an actual thing. Like, the phrase itself - means nothing.

to the key deep state and Democrat players,
not a single piece of evidence that there is such thing as a deep state. Unproven claim.

it was all a waste of time,

100% agreed

as the election is never going to be over turned

100% agreed

on the affidavits of Republican counting observers

affidavits mean jackshit unless there's actual, factual proof. An affidavit is a certified recount of someone's version of certain events.

and strange patterns in vote dumps.
Already debunked - not a fact either.

Not to get in the middle of yalls slap fight, but Paul Krugman isn't a Democrat, he is a liberal columnist. Democrat or Republican in this argument refer to elected officials, not the peanut gallery.

Or you all can continue to speak over each other.

Carry on

Basically the TL;DR of everyone of my posts here is "You all are too stupid to even partake in political discourse". And you seem hellbent on confirming it at the moment
Nice try:

Krugman makes the claim that no Democrat has ever said that Trump's presidency is illegitimate. THAT IS WRONG as proven by the Washington Post article.

The late John Lewis (Dem) also made the same claim:

Now I don't have any skin in this game, Democrat or Republican I find both parties hideous, I find American politics hideous.

Like Scylla and Charybdis.

I would suggest a remedial philosophy class that has a heavy emphasis on logic and possibly do a reading comprehension course as well.

Again

Krugman makes a claim.

That claim is wrong as is clearly shown by the highlighted text. Everbody reading this thread can see that.

Anyway, this is how it looks to me. Since the election of Trump both political parties in the US have disgraced themselves. British political parties have also disgraced themselves over Brexit and both sets of political parties continue to disgrace themselves over covid

There are no winners here...

I think both parties have disgraced themselves since Ross Perot wanted to carve out a third alternative but American politics is too entrenched because of money and the structure of its system to ever allow for an honest election contested by multiple parties.

I'm seriously not trying to be callous here. Truly. But me having to spell it out is just reinforcing what I said earlier.

Paul Krugman isn't having a discussion on Dressed Well about overturning a free and fair election. That is what is being discussed by various posters.

Factually, elected Republicans are trying to outright annull the democratic process in the United States. Democratic representatives did not do this in 2016 or 17. Full stop. There is no equivalence.

And just to cut off the inevitable " my point is ", posting absurd things various people have said does not obviate or bend the conversation to whatever point you have in your head. If you wish to make another point you start a different conversation. I know, this is the internet, I'm clearly an idiot for even suggesting normal discourse.

Just having to spell this out in such a basic manner is literally making my face hurt.

There are no winners here...

We are in agreement here.

Neither am I.

I was just highlighting the bad behaviour/hypocrisy of the Dems.

That is the reason I didn't quote anybody when I posted it.

This just in: asshole whining about election fraud, caught trying to commit election fraud.
It would be funny if it wasn’t terryfing.

In audio from a Saturday phone call, the president is heard urging Georgia election officials to reverse his loss.

Gabriel Sterling is absolutely assassinating the bullshit claims right now.

It’s looking like Trump just lost the Senate for the Republicans.
