Tobacco Thread

The tobacconist I buy from has Djarum prominently displayed behind the till. It's not even hidden like the tobacco products.

E-cigarettes are popping up all over the place.

I blow clove smoke on the female companions. They started liking it.

Lighters!
I know I have a torch and a soft-flamed butane pipe lighter. I couldn't tell you the brand of either without looking, but I've been of the entry-level non-disposable habit, usually in the $10-$25 range.

A stylish wick lighter that I once had is the IMCO Triplex Super 6700. It was sold as WWII lighter and they do go back to the '30s. Wonderful design of stamped metal. They used to be like $12, but apparently the company went out of business a few years back and the prices have gone way up and there are cheap Chinese knock-offs.

I had a vintage Ronson that had a hairline crack in the reservoir. This meant that it leaked, but also that air got sucked in to replace it...so after refueling you had a few minutes where the thing would shoot out six or seven inch flames. Ah, high school.

Speaking of high school, I learned this trick where you balled up your fist, filled the empty space inside with the butane from a lighter, then lit the butane and had a fire in your hand. It was so cool

And speaking of tobacco the FDA is moving to regulate cigars, subject to conditions. I've signed two petitions (is this what the Mighty MF Doom has come to, signing petitions? I used to be FEARED!!) ...and placed mad orders on-line.

As a boring update, my pipe lighter is a a Lotus Vertigo Governor, which I spent way too much time purging, cleaning, filling, and adjusting last night.

That black finish crackles off. $20 lighter. In looking up how to do all this overhaul, I stumbled across this video, describing the hand trick. I already knew how to goose up the gas flow, and there's one at the end about heating up the flint and tossing it on the ground.

Grr, FDA means I can't even nag my elected officials. What limitations do they want? More info please!

fill your mouth with butane and blow fire

Speaking of tobacco, I've had to tell a few stretchers when answering the tobacco use questions at the doctors. Thougb it's been, what, a week since the last one.

Xikar tends to make decent lighters, though Ms. Doom has rendered a couple of their nicer ones inoperable. They do have a lifetime warranty, though.

I have a briar pipe that gets a minimal use. Not a big cigar smoker at all.

I had a number of pipes, I think my brother took a few of mine when he moved, can't be bothered to look for them. Any mixes you enjoyed?

I am partial to Dunhill myself, especially the Nightcap.

Anyone experienced with smoking pipe tobacco.

I am planning a trip to the state to visit a very neat looking tobacconist, J.M Boswell.

Care to share thoughts on Pipe Tobacco, cigars and other tobacco stuff.

Do you regularly smoke a pipe? Consider a Houka as well. They are inexpensive at any middle eastern shop. Nice mellow Tobacco and a smooth smoke. The fruit blends are kind of nice

Going over the border today for some shopping, will try to pick up some pipe tobacco in the buffalo region.

Visit O'Connell's clothing and breathe in the scent of American trad
Sadly I wasn't able to visit O'connell's, I simply can't afford it.
But, I did visit Smoker's Haven in West Seneca and made it over the border with 8oz of tobacco.

very native american/bolivian andes.

Oh those dirty Andean Collas. I'm Camba to the core. Bought my Dunhills from the children street vendors.

I do buy my smokes from Indian smoke shops. If you've got connections, no taxes

Don't get smokes from Brantford, Ontario. They dip them in windshield fluid, fucking disgusting!
