WDYBT: What Did You Buy Today

I am between L and XL. Engineered Garments are cut rather generously compared to others. I am also losing weight, currently at 202 compared to 210 about 2 months ago. I need to stop, just saw more pieces on Forward that are well priced.

I am very liking Schneider pieces currently. The only flaw is the sleeves are cut extra long

* Bruno Magli `platinum' burgundy single monk split toe shoes (goodyear welted).
* some business shirts from Henry Bucks.

the shoos are decent, certainly better than C&J benchgrade. Reduced from $1,040 down to $430. Bought them because l wanted a monk, and it fit well and was something unique with an ltalian flavour that goes well with casual clothes.

Comments on Bruno Magli `platinum' goodyear shoos

* single brick house just like the C&J benchgrade (note: classic church's, E.G etc are all double brick houses)
* less material and handwork goes into the making of these shoes in essential areas around the inner waist area so it is not as solid as it could be, therefore it is a single brick house. They cost cut by using less materials and handwork on the inside of the shoo.
* they don't know how to make a proper shoo. Why? Because it is very hard on the bottom of the foot,ie,it is not comfortable on the bottom of the foot, and standing for a while would give a person sore feet.
* my shoo fits well.

Note: eventhough this shoo is called "handmade", even a Moreschi shoo would have more handwork and quality materials go into the essential areas in the building of the shoo. Eventhough a moreschi is blake stitched, it is a double brick house like the higher end shoos, and a calf skin model costs about $900 for very good reason. Even if they have a thin sole and thin waist, it ain't matter. Why? Because they are very well built up inside the shoo at the waist area which makes the shoo very solid and better made than many goodyear shoos, therefore it will hold up around the foot and keep it's shape better than many shoes that use less quality materials inside the shoe.

Now...people like DW talk down synthetic toe puffs etc, and we know that moreschi uses synthetic puffs, however the synthetic puffs are said by industry makers to keep their shape much better than leather puffs and also last longer. And imo that is true. You will never see a smashed toe puff these days, so DW's points are moot and behind the times IMO.

This is the tie that I bought from the homos from Como with the stile latino sc. the stile latino after beig altered came out super good.

Too bad it looks very dark. On natural light comes out as navy.

And yes I was lazy with the tie knot.

Johnston & Murphy waterproof boots. The rubber memory foamy sole is strange like a mushy sneaker but at least it's not uncomfortable like most mid priced leather soled boots and the captoe probably won't fall apart as quickly as Sassettis.

Until I find a leather soled boot that doesn't kill my feet, I'll resort to these. They also have a wingtip brogue with same weird but comfortable foamy sole.

You need to break them in first. Can take a week if not longer for some boots. Boots that are very comfy and malleable straight out of the box won't last long.

Also, those are the ugliest shoes ever posted here. Im pretty sure it's bonded or genuine leather, so will wrinkle or crack pretty soon too. I guess it works well with railroad worker image you like. DIY guidis.

They're sheepskin leather. Which brand of shoes started off as torture for you then turned comfortable a week later?

Just bought a bunch of Pendleton shirts. A cornucopia of plaid to turn Grand Potentate Grand Potentate 's stomach. Included are western styles with Pearl snap buttons too. OLOLOLOLOLO

Shitty stock photo aside, he finally finds a pair of boots that he says are comfortable for him and don't look like they've been backed over by a truck and now you're giving him shit about how he doesn't know how to break boots in?
