What Are You Wearing Today?

Dropbear Dropbear The jacket looks a bit "boxy" not sure why and the short length accentuates it. It will help you a lot to get proper high rise trousers or jeans. I know if you have a long body that shorter jackets will help with the silhouette but that's too short. Strangely I find that dartless jackets, ie not very waisted, look OK on me - with a long body. You might try a few vintage, or new, Ivy jackets should be easy in USA.

You might look at slightly wider trousers too. Suits will flatter you more than contrasts with Biz Caz. Or try for less contrast with sport coats and trousers. Maybe more casual suits, non worsted, with texture, and looser, in cord or cotton etc.

Have a look at workwear - the more toward the Biz end. Will suit you I think.

You give off rather strong cop vibes.

Were you in the military or else? While I'm not particularly fond of law enforcement, I don't mean this as in insult. It's just that the way you carry yourself and your posture seem unrelaxed and strained. I often find this to hold true for types who have served in one way or another plus they usually have an aura of dutifulness that says "I like being an asshole" and unforunately this seems true for you.

what do you mean by 'biz end' workwear? when i think of workwear, business is literally the last thing i associate with that aesthetic.
I guess I kinda used the wrong terms. I don't mean the retro look workwear stuff I was thinking more - as a starting point don't use tailored wear as a starting point and work down - use more casual wear and work up. and also work down from tailored wear and sort of meet each other in the middle.

When i get more time i will try to explain good pics are hard to come by.

I'm workin' on it for myself. I can see that suit and tie for 98.75% of what I do is inappropriate. The work area has changed so much in last 5 years - accelerated by WFH and covid. I loathe the norm these days of thin beige crinkly narrow /tight cotton "chinos" with open necked shirt and (shades of) blue short sport coat and band aid tan crap shoes - it s everywhere and looks like shit. But what to do.

I only wear a tie when I'm not representing an organization. (now that is an inversion of past rules isn't it.). Even then its rare.

I'm careful about jeans. I favour Stan Ray OG107 Loose fit twill ( its not very loose at all) High rise, straight leg, wider cuff opening, some texture. With sneaks. I have green, black and off white - need to get khaki but sourcing is hard to get here and Stan Ray sizing/QA is all over the place. . . Chambray Uniglo - 2 pocket shirt, or 2 pocket flannels. For a jacket I use cotton/linen odd bits I find with say 4 patch/flap pockets or at times a full zip stand collar sweat type thingos, with parka type stuff over if needed. Or slightly upmarket M65 type.

I'm not saying this is for you - or even me  - just trying to paint a picture.

Updating my Outlook profile pic in the new m2m suit. Overall pretty happy with this. I will need to get it tweaked by the tailor - a bit out in the waist, a bit in at the hips and hem up on the trousers. Anything else?

Overall pretty good. I’d let it out a touch at the top button. Seems a bit snug when buttoned. Would need to see the back to get a better overall picture.

Overall pretty good. But as is the Internet, we can nitpick. Ankle opening needs to be wider or length of trousers needs be shorter. Probably a combination of both.

I am probably in the minority on this here, but the suit will look better without hacking pockets but then again, that is my bias.

Plus one to all this.
Not bad at all if it was remote MTM and no egregious mistakes that can’t be tweaked. A pleasant change from leather jacket and boots!

You ended up with a nice result and you know what needs to be done next. No shoulder dimples. I too would like to see the back. I'm meh on hacking pockets.
I’ve got that covered! I mentioned in the other thread that they let me keep the straight pocket jacket when they did the remake. They then remade the trousers as well (oversight or in compensation for the hassle, I can’t tell). So I ended-up with two suits identical except for pocket angles.

Do you have the hat and skateboard as well?

The sneaks are genuine sk8brd ones - most comfortable shoes I have - spend 80% of my life in them these days (don't tell shoeey) - Highlight was one day I was walking along and a 12 years old kid with skateboard said:: "Great shoes - where you get them" I now have 4 pairs different colours etc includes one lot of Hi Tops.

The rest is ALL Uniqlo - including Reg Grundies, and socks. Almost all got on sale. The Uniqlo U Ts are great - loose oversize fit and half sleeves and a pocket - also got a 3/4 sleeve one.

I can remember buying these socks - they have lasted well.

It was October 2018 BC - Before Covid - we were in Barcelona - it was hot - we had visited Sagrada Família in the morning.

It was hot, walking to downtown my bladder was bursting and my socks were making me hot and were very uncomfortable and sort of hurting.
Unlike here in Melbourne I discovered (again) that public free toilets aren't common all over the world.

In pain of bladder and foot I went into H&M and somehow found a, not too clean, toilet in the basement floor - after relieving myself, I bought this pair of socks, pretty cheap, and changed into them. My life that day improved. I've worn them quite a bit since and they are still good.

Omg. Tell me you are joking. My grandson isn't 9 yet, and he's already sussed, without my input, that trainers are for exercise only or for divs.
