this is a good thing?
That was the most sickly sweet and awful thing at the time. No wonder I had to take a break from the common culture of the 1990s.

its pretty shit. none of these characters draw you in. i gave up after episode 5.I haven’t made it past e1s2 yet - I was very put off by the cast change.
I am enjoying the new season. Good acting and decent scripts.how is the new season so far? i haven't started yet

Tiger King
I continue to slog through narcos mexico season 2. I do not recommend it.
no clue. its from steven king's son based off of a comic book he wrote. Is that the one where people died scouting locations for filming?
god you poor bastard. how did you manage to get through all of that?I finished Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. All three seasons. I would watch the fourth but the coming out as an amateur comic story is done.

you're a pure sadistI'm watching the Hillary documentary on Netflix.

The lead character is great - a vulnerable ingenue. Her diminutive size -she is not much bigger than a child - soon gets the viewer on her side and looking for things to turn out well.
Wow! What can I say about this 4 part mini series except that it is the best thing that I have seen on Netflix recently.
A 19 year old Hasidic woman born/living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn(NY) in an arranged marriage, gets up the courage to escape to Berlin. She doesn't feel comfortable in the marriage and wishes to explore her own freedom without all of the "trappings" of the orthodox Satmar community.
The absolutely brilliant Shira Haas plays Esty Shapiro and she brings so much to this role. The series takes you between the past(meeting her intended husband/marriage/first year) and the current(trying to survive in Berlin/meeting new friends/etc) rather well.
This is not a simple escape and live happily ever after show. The husband/mother in law/community/rabbi set out to find Esty and bring her home. The husband and his shady cousin head to Berlin to find her just as Esty is trying to settle in and carve out a life for herself.
This series will make you want to laugh, cry, get angry....and everything in between.
I have been looking for something on Netflix that captures my attention and this was it. I watched the four appr 50 min episodes last night in one sitting. Captivating!
(Do watch "The Making of Unorthodox" after to get a sense of what went into creating this show. It is based on a true story.)
Netflix finally gets it right!
4.5/5!
I remember watching that when I was young, and it was both very good and shocking to me as a child. It was also published as a book - I'm not sure whether the book came before or after the miniseries.
I read later that the story was full of inaccuracies - apparently Toplis wasn't involved in the Etaples mutiny at all - but it certainly raised questions about the treatment of troops in France in WWI and the way in which the treatment both caused, and exacerbated, the mutiny.
Ozark series three.
Excellent. Good plots. Characters developing nicely.
once upon a time in america is great. if you watch plot let me know how it is. it seemed pretty slow. waiting for vida and penny dreadful as well.Might start Plot Against America tonight. That or the film Once Upon a Time In America. Also waiting for the new Vida ... mostly for the nudity, tbh.
