What TV Shows Are You Watching?

I stumbled onto this today after receiving a notification. I just watched the VERY solid first ep.

A regular day at an Israeli high school goes haywire when shooters invade the campus and start.....well...shooting.

A "special ops" officer is somewhat nearby and responds when he hears the call come in. Along with some other officers, they enter the school. What they find are some students dead, some injured and the majority of them hiding/scared.

The investigation begins! What is looks like.....may not be what it is! What it is....will need to be figured out!

This will, hopefully, keep me entertained over the next few evenings. I hope it keeps up the momentum and doesn't get too soap-opera-ish.

After 1 ep....4/5!

Watching a couple episodes of Forged in Fire on History. Happy to see people interested in blacksmithing. These competition shows are a good timesuck

Just started this today. Finished ep 1.

Close to 200 people board a plane from Jamaica back to NYC. After a mid flight "incident", the plane makes a landing at an upstate NY airport.......FIVE YEARS after takeoff! Huh?

Air traffic control is confused. The flight was reported missing 5 years prior and everyone on board presumed dead. They are all healthy and just as confused.

The people in their lives have aged and many have moved on. However, some try to make it work.

But that's not all.....the 200 people are hearing voices and those voices lead them to do things that can't be explained. I can't explain it either as I am only finished with ep1.

I would give this a 3/5 so far. I need to know/see where it is headed before a final score.

I also started this over the wknd. Don't think I got through ep 1 w/o dozing off.

A married woman is doing "ok" in her life. She has 2 children and a husband who is bringing home the bacon.

However, she starts to have flashbacks of her younger days when she was a THOT. I have no problem with this premise, ESPECIALLY when said THOT is Sarah Shahi!

This just looks like a silly series that I may have no need for....except when I wish to see said THOT in various stages of undress!

No review at this time. Only got 1/2 into the first ep.

Is that what goes for porn for people who are too embarrassed or have too high a security clearance to actually be able to watch real porn?

Had not ever watched 1 ep of this until I was perusing through Netflix last night and saw it listed. I figured I would give it a shot.

Got to ep 3. Solid....and I will definitely look to catch a few eps every night this week.

You haven't watched Downton Abbey?

It does get more theatrical and soap opera like after the first couple of series but the gradual modernisation and wardrobe change is interesting.

Not 1 ep before last night.

I think binging on Bridgerton when it first came out and enjoying it made me check it out.

Been hoovering-up the last few episodes of Tales of The Unexpected. I've pretty much watched them all now, probably twice over. Really tight story telling and some of them are classics. That era late 70s and early 80s, so far away and yet, somehow those 25 minute pieces still resonate down all these years.

Are you watching via a streaming platform of some kind?

I used to enjoy Blake's 7 when I was young - it and Doctor Who were compulsory viewing.
I found the first few episodes free to air on YouTube, though I have a feeling they don’t have all the seasons.

I would have dinner at my grandparents’ house two night a week while my mum went to night school to finish her degree. I’d lay in front of their TV watching BBC scifi on the ABC. The night they killed off Blake I cried and my poor grandparents both did not know how to react to a kid sobbing about a TV show character’s death.

They didn't have much of a budget for special effects. If you remember Servalan's almost skinhead look, that created a bit of fad back in 1980 and lots of ladies had it cut like that. But it didn't last very long.

Jeremy's Clarkson's The Farm. Highly recommended by my mother, but it seems very typical Clarkson style. I'm on the second episode, if it doesn't get any better I'll stop watching it. An innocent getting into sheep farming and a bit of ploughing doesn't really hold my attention.

Clarkson's The Farm picks-up and by the third/fourth episode it's pretty good and worth binging on the 8 episodes. He is one unhealthy looking chap and his clothing is a mess and those bracelets on his wrists. He's not someone who's looked after himself over the years. His misses is tidy though.

In one of the episodes he gets a state of the art wood cutting machine in to manage his woodland, it's a GBP 500,000 engineering wonder that cuts down only the trees to manage the woodland to let in light etc to encourage new growth. He posted it all on the internet and was savaged by the usual Great Thunberg types and then he goes back into the wood and you wouldn't know any trees had been cut down. That's how you manage woodland.

Started watching Halston on Netflix. Not a fashion figure that's known to me. Taki in The Spectator said the series doesn't give justice to the real Halston who was extremely effeminate and degenerate.

I enjoyed Clarkson's the farm, even though I am no fan of Clarkson at all and always considered Top Gear and the like guff.

I concur, Clarkson looks terrible: slid from middle-age to decrepitude overnight.

Clarkson's appearance is the result of self indulgence and ignoring common sense.

I only watched one episode of bum boy Halston after it was mentioned in the papers.Women’s clothing designers are of little interest and the series looked as if it would not get any better.

He's got that 40 years of self-abuse look. The cigs will do that to you. He's also into rose a couple of bottles at a time. A glass of rose is bad enough.

Halfway through the second episode of Halston, it's got all the style of Madmen, but none of the characterisation or interest. Gay fashion designer does coke and gets into rent boys. We've seen it all before. I'll give it another go after dinner. Not much else on Netflix, no wonder everyone's binning the subscription. Tried watching that documentary on the Andes and that's bloody awful too. No substance to it.

Watched the third episode of Halston, really wanted to like as its so stylish and evocative of the period and yet, nothing much happens to keep my attention. So that's it.

Need to find something worthy of watching, might give Mubi another go, I quite liked it, but the missus realised what she thought was arthouse films was in fact, Italian films.

You catch Blackspace? I am only 3-4 eps in, so I can't co-sign the series. But it has potential.
What about Unorthodox? I caught it when it first came out and thought it was very good!

I enjoyed Halston, it's not brilliant but it was a fair effort I thought. Were times where we said 'we'll give this one more ep'. The Elsa Peretti storyline was good, they seemed to give her due credit in the whole thing.

Thanks for the tips, I will check them out this evening.

I might try and stick with it then. I want to like it as the production and actors wreak of quality.

When I got to the end of it thought it would have been better if they focused more on the business side of things because it was an interesting time when fashion licensing went a bit mad and mega brands emerged but then I realised I wasn't really the target audience. 😄

Went back to it last night and the fourth and fifth episodes are much better. Think they did capture the business side in that once you're a brand it's about high volume sales, cheap and fast and nothing to do with haute couture and Halston didn't get that.

I caught the first ep of White Lotus last night. It’s quirky series of uncomfortably awkward scenes. I wouldn’t say it was hilarious but I’ll keep watching.

being on HBO I half expected to see a few bewbs. I was not ready to see a full screen close up on one of the lead’s penors and scrote.
