Ok but Disney+ and Hulu are two separate subscriptions unless you pay for the combo subscription. On my tv box app, if I click on a Hulu tv show in the Disney app it prompts me to open the Hulu app.
 
It's under the Star icon here. This is free in Canada with Disney+ (and also where they seem to stash the adult movies from Fox).

You can also get Star on Amazon Prime in Canada but you have to pay for it. Streaming and distribution rights are overly complicated and I wish it was just Netflix like before.

Besides Amazon, Apple is the most atrocious for selling you more stuff. Other than their own catalogue items everything requires you to pay more. You can search for a lot of things but chances are you have to pay for it.
 
Really enjoying Shogun so far after 2 episodes. Think this one is going to be good. Excellent cast as well.

I’m downloaded the first three eps (on Disney+) to watch on the plane this weekend.

Band of Bombers is getting boring but Tokyo Vice and HighTown are both keeping my interest.

I watched ep 3 last night. Excellent so far.

Why aren’t you liking band of airplanes? Haven’t seen that one yet.
 
Has anyone watched The Gentleman? I’m looking for things to download for a long flight.
 
The Gentlemen (plural?), I have watched. Fun caper actually. Hugh Grant was special.

'The Gentleman'? No idea what that is.
 
Gave up on Apple's Constellation. I have no idea what this show wants to be or what its about, but the story is ridiculous and the acting is even worse.

Yes. They announced it was the final season before they started filming, so I think they tweaked the script on the last couple of eps to wrap it up. Still satisfying though

It was too rushed at the end. Jackie just gets it all together and then that's it.
 
I started watching a bit of Masters of the Air. It seems pretty formulaic.

I’ve seen the first two eps now - enjoyable but very typical Guy Ritchie formula
 
I started watching Somebody Feeds Phil. I'm surprised he said he didn't get any gastrointestinal issues eating all that street food in Bombay.
 
I was afraid Tokyo Vice was wrapping for the season at ep8, but I see we have two more this time. Really enjoying this one!
 
Anyone else watching Three Body Problem? I just started it and it is promising so far.

what would you rate it out of 10? i got part way through the first episode while eating dinner tonight and then there was someone who cut out their eyes and another person who committed suicide. figured maybe it was better to give it up at that point.
 
Slowly working my way through Masters of the Air. It seems like it's a high production value of themes that were already touched on before. Allied bombing raids in the flying fortresses. Behind enemy lines in continental Europe. And now the stalag setting. Snobby Brit officers. All have been done before in other movies or shows. I'm not sure this one does it particularly well.

One interesting thing I liked about Band of Brothers was it occasionally showed the action from the German military. Here we just see Luftwaffe fighters piloted by unseen men and the odd cutaway to an air raid siren and Germans firing a flak gun.
 
Burned through the 3 Body Problem in 1 night. Very interesting Sci-Fi with a TON of unanswered questions. Skipped through all cancer guy's scenes.
 
I'm 3 episodes through Supersex.

Contrary to what some reviewers said I didn't find the pornography gratuitous yet. In fact I'd say the first episodes are like your typical Italian drama of a poor kid from a poor family in a small village without any prospect in I assume southern Italy going through his rites of passage and leaving home to escape being entrapped there like his family. (this has to be 1 in 3 Italian dramas I watch).

Some Google reviews said it was borderline pedophilia using child actors who spy on his brother and his brother's girlfriend having sex or looking at a porn magazine or having gypsy bullies pulling down your trousers and yanking at your dick. Wasn't that how most of us were raised? Anyway I'm sure the 21st century kids using their mobile to watch Pornhub is more damaging.

Borghi is only starting to feature in the show now (there are child and young teen/adult actors of him). I'm guessing they want to develop sympathy for him - lost family, lost brother, shattered illusions, his childhood crush turns out to be a prostitute but so far it's not working for me yet.
 
I finished Masters of the Air. After the Stalag/Hart's War motif they were able to squeeze in the Tuskegee black airmen and then an obligatory scene of a Jewish American soldier coming upon Nazi extermination camps.

The show hit on nearly every WW2 movie/series checkmark since Saving Private Ryan. I had no idea this was based on real people. They even go through each character and showed what they did and look like in real life - Band of Brothers style at the end of the show.

It would have been nicer if it just focused on one or two motifs (resistance fighters, black servicemen, stalag/pow camp) and showed a bit more from the German side of things instead of feeling like the show needed to check off it did and filmed everything it needed to on the Western front.
