What's Making You Happy Today?

Cheers, good to know what's in store for me if I end up as a childless bachelor! Doesn't sound half bad.

What's Tinder's success rate? The last thing I was asked to try was plenty of fish, and I never got around to it. I hate photographs of myself.

Pretty good for meeting new people. It's 99% based on pictures though. People will swipe left or right within a couple of seconds.

How do you solve Tinder problems with money then? Other than going under the knife.

Use a pic of you in your private jet/in front of your Ferrari/on your yacht/etc. Surprisingly, lots of girls have those kind of pics.

I walk into the Fairmont and at one of the bars most of the waiters and all of the bartenders wish me a happy new year. I only come by once a month to this place.

Publix was having buy 1 get 1 free on packages of chicken breast and the dumbass in the meat department tagged a bunch of packages of chicken breast at $2/lb. Can't beat 8lbs of chicken for $8.

Good chicken is $35 for 5.5 lb bird.

Found a pair of soft brushed black cotton double pleated Brioni pants in the coat closet that I won on eBay for like $30 some months back still in the eco-dry cleaner hanger. Just what I need for this cold weather now.

Last year, I bumped into an old staff of mine when he took a contract near my workplace. We had lunch at my club, and I paid. Then during Christmas, he took me out and he paid. He invited me to the dining hall of the law society so it was something I hadn't experienced before. He mentioned his employment at the society wasn't tenable and he may be looking for work in 2016.

I said I already budgeted for a reduction in 2016, not an increase and so far no one wanted to leave. Fast forward and now someone quit. Unfortunately, he wasn't the one I wanted to terminate so I am terminating another here and flying to an office in the States to terminate one more. He rang to wish me a happy long weekend to which I told him it was his lucky day because I had a resignation to which he could fill. He was picky about the financial aspects.

During the holidays, I also met one of the partners of an agency I deal with. I've always told him about tastings and my cocktail club. I ended up taking him to one and he paid for the night. I thanked him, but for what reason I don't know since I didn't have any openings.

When my current staff resigned, I connected the agency partner with this former staff and at someone's loss or gain, it looks like I'm rehiring my former staff at a rate that works for said agency, my firm and me.

All these disparate and unrelated events are adding up. Now that all the terminations are taking place at once, I can preach a single cost cutting narrative. It almost seems like I had a plan all along with these lunches and dinners.

Two weekends ago: planning for offsite. Last weekend: planning for work trip. This weekend: one day of presentations to someone four levels up from across the pond.

Should be finished soon.

I was informed today that Julian Assange has watchlisted me, apparently based on a book I helped write, in his bullshit "IC Watch" operation to "expose members of the IC (intelligence community) for international violations of surveillance and human rights abuse." Or something. Which is hilarious because all I did was help write a book.

And my high school guidance counselor thought I'd never amount to anything.

I'm thinking resume bullet point.

Had 3 pints and 2 whiskys for lunch with a work mate. Somehow this is going to be company expense.

rainman - I don't wish to be rude but I think I know who is my current role model here.

Just had a $150 lunch at an Italian place. I had campari neat with a twist of lemon in lieu of espresso. The waiter called me doctore in the end. As someone who majored in Classics and minored in English and History, it has greater meaning.

Having a cigarette to ward off the alcohol now. Half a bottle of amarone

Oh right. I'm a little sloshed - even 3 or 4 cigarettes didn't help.

The state of Kentucky is 49% lower than uni.

I have to get up to the executive floor now. More cologne...

Just got an invitation to happy hour and drinks midtown. Hmm. Crikey, I haven't been at work much this afternoon.

Spent 45 minutes on the elliptical at 6 this morning. The only good thing I did yesterday was send one of my lady friends to the airport in Uber Black. Cost $97, but oh well.

I live to fight another day.

I just received a bonus cheque that at gross value is a little more than half of what I dreamed the ideal job would have been paying me when I left university - except I just received it all in one payment.

So which bespoke you gonna upgrade to? Should order at least three suits to reward yourself no?
