Investigators say the lever-lock fuel switches are designed to prevent accidental activation - they must be pulled up to unlock before flipping, a safety feature dating back to the 1950s. Then there is an Indian guy saying maybe the switches didn't need to be flipped. It electronically cut off and the pilots were trying to restart it. Sure. That sounds plausible.

Okay. The Indian pilot was stabbed by the Omani pilot. There was an air marshal on. There were off duty pilots. Journos said with a plane full of Israelis you are going to run into men who did military service and therefore have skills to subdue the Omani bloke and fly a plane. But overall very lucky to escape with no one other than the pilot hurt. Pilot triggered the door to open with his feet whilst being attacked.
