All About Watches

I can take it or leave it. The thing that really kills it for me is the bracelet, it just looks so fucking cheap, especially compared to a jubilee. That said, I think the Omega was probably designed to be worn on a strap, and it does look better that way, but then it becomes semi-dress watch, in which case I would rather wear a Reverso personally.

In other news - found the perfect watches for LelandJ LelandJ , who also happens to be featured on the company's homepage:

https://vorticwatches.com/

"The Journeyman Journeyman Series follows the pristine example of craftsmanship set forth by American, Railroad-Era pocket watch manufacturers."

They also happen to be some of the ugliest Frankenwatches I've ever seen.

I wouldn't mind a "Chicago" 42mm ! SOLD OUT !!

That looks pretty nasty.

Also, why do you have that awful 1mm edge-stitching on your shirt cuffs?

Ah but we have not discussed the flimsy and embarrassing stamped metal clasp on the Rolecks. Show us the bottom, dear.

FAOD I think it is charmant shabby chic.

Watch guy tried to charge me $72 for the repair, then he offered 'only' $65.

First he said it was the coil, now it was the "quartz" that was broken. Guess I'm helping with his rent but what jeweler (aren't they all Jewish?) won't rip you off?

none of them. you can just continue to waste time running around with it or find someone with a GOOD warranty and a rapport, and have him just do everything for you. This way, you know you're covered if something else goes wrong.

I bought from England so repair shipping and time about the same cost/hassle!

easier to spell
better to wrist

Nice, but on a slim wrist that will look like a cockpit dial. I need to try some of these pilots on and test them under cuffs before making a decision.

Look at the smaller IWC Mark XV...

Around 40mm. Can pick up new models for $3000. Used older models around $2K

Any lefties here wear on their right wrist? I'm a southpaw, wear on left wrist. Never tried a lefty watch. This is interesting.

Doesnt an inboard crown bite in to your wrist!

Nope.

I find the opposite sometimes depending on the watch diameter and crown size, the RH crown will bite into the back of my hand when flexed. Especially with big diameter ones
