Cop Tyranny Thread

[Arresting officer]Salter's wife, Amanda, thinks her husband is being treated unfairly. Back in 2009, he was reprimanded for not ticketing former Gov. Mark Sanford's driver. Since then, she said, he's been known to ticket high-ranking officials and even other law enforcement.

"He doesn't play the good ole boy system the way they see it, which is the philosophy of the Highway Patrol and the DPS. It's the good old boy system: 'you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.' And (Salter's) always been known for being tough, for standing by the law, obeying the law, as it's written, equally," said Amanda Salter.
Seems like a good guy.

Fat pig got suspended for threatening a tazer on that NFL guy.

Cops assault and cuff victim of bike theft. I guess "he stole my bike" means "arrest me" in cop speak.

You know, the average idiot should know better than to go running and shouting into an arrest scene, but these cops really need to get a grip and study threat assessment and measured response.

Heh... where the tyranny starts.

Nice, crosswalk entrapment. Good use of police.

Cops are as dumb as Justin Bieber's goons in that they grab one person's camera phone and are oblivious to the other people still recording them.
A New Jersey man who video recorded a mob of cops beating a woman on the Fourth of July was attacked and beaten himself by those same cops, only for another citizen to video record that arrest.

“He ain’t resisting,” the man filming the arrest on his phone says. “He laying on the ground, man.”
...Before Queen was rounded up, he was standing on the corner near Kirkbride Avenue 10 to 15 feet away from the officers filming on his phone the alleged assault of the woman when one of the cops told him he was interfering with an investigation.
“I told them I’m not interfering with anything,” he said Monday. “I’m just videotaping y’all beating up this girl, which is my right.”
...The mechanic said he was in custody for 10 hours before being released. He is charged with obstruction of justice, resisting arrest and charging an officer...Queen claims the authorities confiscated his phone and erased the video of police beating up the woman before giving him back the device.
But he is still trying to retrieve that video from his phone,
Queen says he will “most definitely” sue police for their use of excessive force.
“I got beat up because I videotaped them doing wrong,” Queen said Monday. “If cops were doing their job the right way, they shouldn’t have been concerned about me videotaping it. It’s just ridiculous what they do to us out here.”

"The authorities in Prince William County, Virginia, are pursuing child pornography charges against a 17 year old who exchanged nude picture texts with his 15-year-old girlfriend. The police have even filed a warrant that would permit them to take the teen to the hospital, give him an erection-producing injection, and photograph his penis. Prosecutors want to compare this photograph to the one the teen sent to his girlfriend, establishing that they depict the same thing."

In order to convict a boy of child pornography they have to create child pornography.

$500 bucks says someone tells him to stop resisting.

Miami is home to some of the most over-aggressive police in America. Here is a video of that insane aggression being channeled in a proper direction: against another police officer.

As you can see in the hilarious dash cam video above, a Miami cop pulled over a car, and the guy in the car made the apparent mistake of trying to get out of the car, so of course he was taken to the ground hard, and then, as if from nowhere, approximately 74 additional Miami police cars pull up to the scene and they all pile onto the guy on the ground in a comical "Keystone Kops" manner, and then much gabbing and hand-wringing ensues. Unfortunately—or fortunately, for you, the viewing public—the guy who got pulled over and then slammed on the ground was Lt. David Ramras of the Miami Police Department's internal affairs divisions.

Both officers have been suspended and the mayor is embarrassed as hell.

Here is a quality journalistic write-up of this wacky police blooper. Great work, everyone.

Russell's vid was unadulterated

Rambos was pure awesome. Ha ha, some of your own medicine pig.

The brutatlity and the ineptness seem to go hand in hand. I thought that one reason cops keep you in the car is because it puts them in a nice dominant position. And they like to see your hands so you can't do anything unexpected. Somehow this guy was able to open a car door. And I believe the proper response is to basically kick the door closed, which can break a leg and do all kinds of damage, but more importantly keeps the person in the car and off their feet. This primitive punch and wrestle response clearly leaves you hoping that backup drives by right now...

I have seen event security that knew how to restrain and move uncooperative, violent people better than most cops shown here.

I sound like a broken record, but what good are these cops that can't take down a lightly resisting man without causing serious injury? Never mind that there like four on one here.
I invoke Hanlon's Razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
In high school, I knew way too many guys that knew a little restraint stuff, like if you bend someone's hand back it hurts like hell without risking anything beyond a sprain. These overpaid professionals need to get some tips from the local high school wresting teams, apparently.

There are plenty of cases of malicious, abusive and evil intent. This one looks like nicompoopery. They want to safely subdue a loudmouth, but their unskilled, poorly trained little crania can't quite get it right. It's Lennie petting the rabbits too hard, sometimes.
But yes, some are jack-booted thugs on absolute power trips.

Why is it necessary to subdue a loudmouth in the first place? In the video he said he broke up a fight.

Cameras are our friend. Cops do not like to be filmed.

This pretty unwatchable, its long. At 10m + this start making fun of him as he has a seizure. He died in the cell, and at the end, the pigs are just standing around. No pulse. Remains shackled. The callousness of this is tragic.
