Disagreeable Menswear Post Of The Day

That whole thing is an affront to all religions. What the fuck is going on with the jacket pockets? Are they leather?

The experts haven't really discussed that matter. There was a reference to python though.

Yep, you'll have hard time finding a person to know what is SAS (a chain of supermarkets i Yerevan btw), let alone know its emblem

Btw, anyone think another German friend Bradfock may have a bit of a chip on his shoulder.

He recently had himself photographed in the English country like this:

He joined the ranks of sartorial gods using a real MYSTERY BESPOKE TAILOR (wow)

image.webp

And just ignores his fans when they ask him a question about the identity of the MBT. Or you guys think he just missed the question by cheapandawful?

yes light breezy madras, make sure it clings to the body and can barely button. add that casual spread collar for some reason.

shouldn't the pattern make some attempt at going striaght up and down?

Good old Gianni with a happy face at his successful London trunk show. Good to ser he had his parrot with him and managed to stuff it in his breast pocket.

And here's my look of the trunk-show in London. Obviously, tie and pocket square me-I have made. It is still vintage silk printed by hand. The dress is a bespoke Pirozzi, and the shirt is always bespoke but D'Avino.

The look has already received approval from one of the most prominent WAYWN posters. Let's wait what Instiches has to say....

Suit or jacket? Regardless, impressive!

I've already commented on his color blindness and sprezz turned up to 11. I know he's pimping ties, but do we really have to have that exaggerated lift and the rear blade showing?

Good old Don from Köln is molesting the bench again. He's now sitting on the other side... And got a new haircut.

Meh, the clothes are not bad. I'm not sure they exemplify what tailoring can achieve, but at this point a better haircut and learning to smile might be a better pursuit.

Appearance goes a long way in conveying the complete picture and influences how we see people. Looking like one is wearing an otter for a hat gets in the way of evaluating his fit.

Is he an RTW or tailor made man? I really thing he needs to choose something other than a spread collar.

Colonel, yours are not posed photos. One can make a neutral or pleasant expression without being totally schmucky.
BTW I like that plaid but please button the collar and tighten the tie.
I am also required by igent law to suggest wearing a pocket square.

This is why I leave my face out of the photograph. Well, avoiding some mockery, yes, but I think it's also very difficult for the viewer to really feel as if they are only looking at clothes. With the face, they're looking at a whole person. Plus yeah, posed expressions are tough to pull off well. VictorSF did it. But that was because he also looked like he could kill you with his bare hands. I'd say Sander, Tira, and TTO manage it.

That's actually one of my favorite fits of Stitchy's, sans the pointy shoes (I dislike most, if not all, G&G lasts). But I'm a big fan of navy jacket, gray pants, and brown tie. I don't give points for difficulty.

Wtf, southernstyle must have been reading the Passaggio Cravatte thread as well! LOL

And here's another one of our bespoke vintage. I see it very well with a nice solaro. A panama hat. And with a nice two-tone Gladietor to toe.

I still have one available. Then this vintage will be extinguished forever.

Obviously it's all unlined and all hemmed by hand.

These guys deserve a cross-post here:

Talking about tie penis....

By coincidence my two current favorite posters in WAYWN just discussed the matter too.

Bradfock (see http://www.dressedwell.net/forum/threads/disagreeable-menswear-post-du-jour.763/page-3) just posted this in WAYWN

And my friend with the otter on his head that normally molests an innocent Germen bench replied

How long is that tie? I think you need at least a 10 cm shorter one.

Btw, just before this he posted another great look which got axed probably because the mods mixed up German military wear in WWI and WWII. Anyway, he deserves a repost here:

My favourite Germans at it again!

Has DonCologne changed the way he is sitting on the bench or has he lost weight? The bench doesn't seem to suffer so much anymore. Maybe it has been reinforced? The pentz look like they belonged to a soul singer

My. Friend Bradfock has been surfing the net and saw some great pictures of Luca and Lino. And the Armourers of course. And decided to add a nice casual touch to his lapel. WTF!

image.webp

What is that thing?

I think they call it s lapel pin. Luca Rubinacci is sporting one with a red Neapolitan pepper on the end (very sprezz) and the Armoury boiz generally have a little gold ball. It been well received in the #menswear scene as another thing to individualize your suit or sports coat.

It's fkn horrendous just like all those silly bracelets.

If you still want to know more about it: http://belgiandandy.blogspot.nl/2014/02/the-lapel-chain-from-armoury-in-hong.html?m=1

You call it GladiAtor,

But Gianni's google translate calls it GladiEtor.

And of course the model is even more DANDY if done in a two-tone as propagated by Gianni Cerutti.

English is my second language so me no spell so good. I should defer to Gianni's spelling.

Sadly, I could not find a pic of the two-tone Glad___r. Clearly we are sartorially backward on the interwebz for not having such a pic.

I fail as a dandy, Dear

....I flagellated myself for making fun of his charming and quaint English

And here a picture of the Gladietor two-tone to toe

But why does it have a chain dangling into the pocket?

Anyway, cf. title, NME used to have a feature called "Cunt of the Week". Is that too direct? The "You Look Like a Cunt" Thread?
If there was like a coke spoon or monocle or something useful at the end of the chain, this might make some sense. Currently it seems to be tacky jewelry.
I welcome all variations on the theme. One catchall may not be enough.

Let me present to you the RUBINACCI lapel chain

Sacred talisman? I wore a gold one of those on a chain once years ago. Well, now that I am confessing, I wore pukka shells too; a zodiac pendant, black leather Converse Chuck's; denim with a full 25 inch flare that covered my Cougar Pepsi logo wedge soles so the back hem got chewed up; velour. Not all at once mind.
