Disagreeable Menswear Post Of The Day

Well, somewhere recently somebody asked about the dark toe look, antiquing or whatever. As a natural phenomenon I dig it, but to fake it is like distressing denim artificially; it sucks.

In my inbox today, was Schott telling me they were stocking Chippewas and showing this. I'm not sure what to think.

While I like Chippewa's I really don't dig that two-tone dark toe look. To me it looks like an attempt to appeal to the demographic who wear boots like this for anything but work and outdoor recreation.

I find this disagreeable from the perspective that after receiving his online MTM commission, he turns to SF to ask what needs "fine tuning".

Maybe he realizes this is close to being an abortion for something made for his measurements but he says nothing.

So either out of embarrassment or ignorance he turns to iGents for help as opposed to picking up the phone, or sending an email to contact the vendor to say what the fuck is this dreck that you have sent me!

Plus the white circle over his face, the contrast collar and cuffs, the preparing for flight posing and the sideways images give an almost comical quality to his fit making it harder to take it seriously and try and help the fool.

I just shudder.

Btw guys, have you seen the Pitti pictures of Stichy's role model - or maybe SF role model - Greg? I always thought he looked good when he wasn't working in the #menswear industry, but this doesn't do it for me, the Neapolitan rtw to bespoke standards, the dull tie, the shoecolour.....

to be fair, he can be fairly entertaining outside of the clothing area. although, I dunno if it is intentional or coincidential, anyway.

I have to admit that his scientific approach to shoe care is - let's say strange. the fact that he is winged by DWF doesn't improve the performance. it's the opposite, imo.

In what threads is he entertaining. Only been reading his posts in shoe(care) threads, the unfunded liabilities thread and the thread of his NY/Eyelatian tailor whatshisname.

I said outside of clothing. no prob. still, I dunno if those are lucky punches.

on a random note: we both share the appreciation of bob haircuts. afaik, this is the only thing we have in common, though.

ps: I agree that his shoe care observations are a nightmare...

What in the actual fuck? Nine button jacket... but as always, leave the last one undone. I mean, can you apply that priciple in a 9 button jacket!?! :jchan:

Can you apply the principle of good sense to a man in a 9 button jacket? Also, most of those buttons are for show. I suspect only one actually buttons. The fourth down, by the looks of it. Which means that 7 of those buttons are on the right side of the jacket, and 2 on the left, with only one intended to be buttoned, and one intended to make it appear as if he left the bottom button undone.

The more I look, the more I hate people. Specifically. Him.

The guy over his shoulder looks like he's wearing a summer dress.
