Kirby Allison appreciation thread

I mean, I'm not a fan or anything. Certainly not wasting time on the videos. But more power to him for doing what he wants.
I agree with that Dogster. I just wonder who it is he appeals to? Reckon I've watched most of the #menwear channels and honestly, none of them are worth my time. But its good to have a hobby and yes, more power to them.

Hell if I know man. Probably young naive kids just learning about clothes and lifestyle I would guess.

I'm pretty similar to you where I am more interested in the lookbooks than this sort of performative mess.

In fairness to Kirby, his smoking outfit was part of a black tie celebration version he recorded, hence the video with the cordwainer.

Kirby takes his first steps on the road to becoming a BIG Daddy

You see, Kirby doesn't have to do any of this, but he wants a very nice place to work so he is going all out with all the trimmings and paying the big bucks. He is about lifestyle.

All he needs now is a leather chesterfield chair stuffed with horse hair. Might cost 50K, but better to go all in and do it right.

Shooey this looks a setup for a gay porno.

I mean, nothing screams refinement like having a guy with a Hawaiian shirt and cargo shorts smoking a stogie with you.

All those wannabe with expensive disguises are the same, cosplay, not real upper class. All this freaks have always been a joke for me and is the resume of the other forum scent...

edit: the image of those freaks smoking looks straight from a meth house.

Kirby has zero class. My great aunts would have only given Kirby a driver's job.

got to admit he's doing pretty fucking well for himself these days. that's got to be a mil plus for that office space and reno alone.

It's okay, but windowless. I see no natural light coming in when he shoots there.

Somebody must be buying his stuff then.

He is still laughably entertaining. I note he is now putting more ‘product’ on his barnet. I expect to see expensive, new Kirby Allison hair ‘solutions’ endorsed by various chancers in the near future.

All he needs is a premier, upscale microwave for pizzas.

Then he is all set for whisky and cigar sessions in his dinner jacket. No more need for delivery.

I've gotten some shoe laces from Kirby's store. They're nice.

Kirby is now back in London, and that means going to gentleman's clubs with chesterfields stuffed with horse hair and mixing with more fancy folk.

Nick Foulkes' son has purple `arca' Corthays on.
Kirby dressed boring and conservative. Black shoes and gray suit and sox. 🥱

I am going to polish a couple of pairs and see if this interview is any good.

Nick wears his pocketsquare impeccably. Few could get away with wearing it like that. Wearing all bespoke with the rare Berluti bespoke shoes.

We should change the title of this thread. No one here will willingly admit they have any appreciation for Kirby.

I appreciate Kirby because he has interviews with good custom makers like this. Before Kirby there was no good interviews online. Kirby has filled a gap in the youtube world.

Oh no... What are Kirby and Hugo doing? I do not have high hopes for this and will likely not watch it.

What is Antonio's real agenda. He wants us to register for the event....so is he trying to get our email addresses so he can relentlessly spam us year after year? That guy never stops trying to sell something, it is tiring to listen to.

Many of these guys are shrewd businessmen, and l am sure they want something out of it like exposure.

What does everyone think of this video? Personally it was a tipping point for me in regards to wearing white shirts at least 5 days a week, sometimes on the weekends also.

Some laughable moments in the video for sure.

Always associate white shirts with commercial negotiations - hard and stark - and bean counting disciplines. A bit too accountancy and possibly confrontational for my taste in business. For meetings I will go for a blue shirt which is warmer and more open and that's the vibe I want to give out. It might be de rigueur in certain London clubs, but if you need to be careful with white shirt looks in restaurants, lest someone mistake you for the maitre d'.

The exception is a white button down which I think is a great creative look, especially with green chinos.

A white pinpoint oxford and navy cords is one of my favorite lounging around on Sunday evening outfits in the winter.

You are Peter Griffin and I claim my five pounds!

Good points. I do like the crispness of a white shirt but I agree it sometimes has too much presence and therefor a light blue shirt is a better choice. I've never had the restaurant problem, but dually noted.
I like the white shirt with green chinos, some young people view it as a Peter Griffin Look if it's done with brown shoes and a brown belt.. I tend to do it with espadrilles in the Summer

Nice I'll have to try that at some point.

What is everyone's thoughts on leisurely white shirts? In the Winter I was thinking of a brushed cotton, or a white flannel shirt..?

Nothing like a casual white shirt with navy trousers (casual fabric) and black shoes loafers or burgundy shoes.

Casual white shirt = casual cloth, 2 or 4 flap pockets on the front, maybe even some epaulettes, and some pleats on the shirt. Even a simple button pocket works, but the key is to have 2 casual pockets on the front of the shirt.

god he should never try to be funny ever again. that is just painful.

is that old? he looks like a completely different person in that photo.

Yeah, from an old copy of Esquire. Was cleaning out some stuff and stumbled across it. I laughed, but not in the way intended.

He looks a kind of menacing in that photo.
Kirby uses a burgundy hanger subliminally here..
