How Lunar New Year came to encompass different Asian cultures’ spring festivals
Using “Lunar New Year” is a sign of respect linguistically and culturally to all the different countries that celebrate the holiday, but it’s also OK to celebrate individually, experts say.www.nbcnews.com
It's called Lunar New Year now.
China does not have a monopoly over everything.
Having worked organizations with Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai etc people I know not to talk about "Chinese New Yaer" - especially since one of my DiLs is Taiwanese! My mother in law nearly slapped me 15 years ago when I referred to Tet/ Lunar New Year as ‘Chinese New Year’
The most annoying and confusing part for me is the superstitions. I can’t take out the trash on LNY because that will mean losing stuff all year? Like, losing more trash? Isn’t that a good thing? Not dying in a hoarder’s toxic pile of refuse?Having worked organizations with Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai etc people I know not to talk about "Chinese New Yaer" - especially since one of my DiLs is Taiwanese!

Most workplaces I've been in in the last million years don't have segregated toilets. A lot - many - of public facilities now in galleries, public spaces, shopping centres (malls) are actually kinda mixed, you walk in the same door for everyone, the stand up urinals are over that way - the sit down stalls that way. Wash basins over there.Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says he is against transgender women in female spaces
The federal Conservative Leader said on Wednesday that transgender women should not be allowed in women’s change rooms and public washroomswww.theglobeandmail.com
“female spaces should be exclusively for females, not for biological males.”
Oh great. Now we have to have two fields - birth gender + current gender.
In Canadia, shared toilets are usually because there his only 1. get in line whomever you are. next most common is separate men, women and the family one is a free-for-all.Most workplaces I've been in in the last million years don't have segregated toilets. Really? I mean they are not unusual all over the world. I , too, prefer segregated toilets and they are more common in these parts but non-segregated toilets are also common here too.really? i honestly don't think i've ever seen a building or public space without a segregated toilet in my entire life.
