Review Of My Formosa Suit From NMWA

i think a lot of sf members were already lurking. but noodles registring prolly was the last push some needed to actually participate. it wont be lomg before stitchy spoopopopopooker and patricksexbooth also register. we can then officially call it a day and rambo can refund any excess donations
wait let's go back;

what does this even mean?

I don't know if anyone else has answered this already, but maybe a year ago Passagio Cravatte was shilling his bespoke ties made from vintage fabrics sold at steep prices. Turned out that his vintage silks were generally recent production, or at least the ones worth buying were.

DW gained momentum when SF tried to shut down the commentary trashing Gianni Cerruti (Affiliate Vendors need Protection, yo), so people came here to be honest and in some cases brutal.

The "vintage thirst" came into play when Gianni tried posting his wares in English using Google translate or something like it. As I'm told (because my expertise in Italian is limited to "pizza") thirst translates to the same word as silks. So GC was advertising handmade ties made of vintage thirsts.

Beyond that, we're all lunatics. I haven't been on SF in ages for various reasons, but I remember a series of shots you'd done - three-part vignettes in SW&D a few years back. I thought they were awesome, especially the series with the Stewart Tartan trousers, and the one with the Miata on the beach.

SVB - I've seen a bit of your 2 notorious outfits and I think doghouse summoned me in another thread.

I'm not sure this thread is the place to discuss it.

I can see you are trying for something but I'm not sure what it is.
Have you elaborated anywhere what the look is you are going for?

Small correction
The thirst shall be better ancient
Not vintage

I don't know what good will come of this.
You dont know how many people follow this. Its a like those TV reality shows - you know they are awful, and tightly scripted and edited, but you cant help flicking over for a few minuets every now and then in the hope of seeing a real trainwreck.

Noodles I'm sure you could, with some help from the experienced members here, like me, devise a Cunning Plan. You could challenge whatsisname to an arm wrestling contest and if you win get a new suit or something.

Or toss him - double or nothing. Or sneak up behind him and kneel down under his knees and get someone to push him over. Or put moth eggs in the pockets of all his RTW stuff.

I haven't put a lot of thought into it at this stage but I'm sure others will help and I and thruth would be happy to help refine tactics.

It occurs to me that Leland's tactics with his adopted rat family might make him a good ally. OTOH I'm not sure his success rat rate is a recommendation. Pauly would know some sneaky asian type martial arts moves that would appeal to your sensibilities. I think chorn has a lot of cross cultural experience and knowledge that might help. As a bonus Pauly seems to understand streetwear, what the young kids wear. I'm not sure why its a bonus - but there you go. He does have big thighs though.

I'm only in the initial brainstorm/concept phase. We can spit out a few ideas, run them up the flagpole and see who salutes. Or knock over the milk bottle and see which cat licks it up. You get my drift. Baby.

so cunning - we could put a tail on it and call it a ferret.

Or in Lelands case a rat

You will break my heart if that wasn't a Black Adder reference fxh

Private Baldrick: It's Rat au Van, Sir.
Captain Blackadder: Rat au Van, Baldrick?
Private Baldrick: Yes sir, it's Rat that's been...
Captain Blackadder and Private Baldrick: ...Run over by a van.

To bad this happened to you Noodles. I have never liked NMWA nor the love from SF to Formosa, I'm glad I never bought anything from NMWA.

WE SHALL BE ENTERTAINED! IS THAT NOT REASON ENOUGH???

I'm not saying that I think our MF DOOM is Russell Crowe. But our MF DOOM is definitely Russell Crowe.

Betel, I just realised there are 2 betels on SF. I was conflating the 2.

They are both good people. One is the character, one is the star.

This is the cool guy wrote about that star.

So, there's Betelgeuse Betelgeuse who posts here as well as over on SF. Who's the other one, or are you talking about the astronomical feature?

I don't think that I've ever seen a photo of Sir John Herschel. He looks like he'd fit right in to a certain SW&D aesthetic.

If the Washington fits you, I'll bet dollars to donuts that it fixes your hippy issue.

Where have you been Betelgeuse Betelgeuse ? Long time no see.

Any luck unloading the suit Noodles Noodles ? Still planning on getting a suit from Suit Supply?

I've been a bit busy, haven't checked the forums lately. :challengefailed:

Yeap. The other Betel is "Beatlegeuse" I think it's a combo of the "Beatles" and something else, cause I used to think the movie character name is spelled different. I picked my username from the star, "Betelgeuse" the one from Orion Constelation.

I don't know if this is creepy of me or not but I've always really wondered who Vox is in real life.

Don't think that it's unusual. I think that there's quite a few people out there who'd like to know, which is precisely why he hides his identity.

what dont you like about nmwa? what dont you like about formosa?
I have stumbled on this thread, I didn't know all those people, went on the nmwa website and stumbled upon their sales promotions only to find a (WHOHOHOHOHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA muscles hurting now) a Cantarelli jacket for 800 USD - I still cannot get over it. Cantarelli is an UNbrand I only wear if I have to disguise myself to blend in with MORONS working in public administration, in sales in Europe that same jacket is sold for 250 USD! It is shit! You wear it once and then you use it to polish the car. Never wear it except for DISGUISE mode to blend in with poor people! No good shop should sell it! Then I looked at Formosa and was slightly impressed by the look of it, but this reeks of Naples-French swindle, yet again promoted by Uberunelegantmidget Jacomet.... IF and only IF Formosa works their MTO as they say they do ... then the fault is DODALLY with YMCA or how are they called because they didn't do the measure up correctly! Real UNtailors at work...

much more elegant to have your servant use a bespoke sciamat jacket to polish the car

No, I am merely a psychopath who has morphed partially into Sarto. Cantarelli: Paris, Brussels, Maastricht, Düsseldorf during the sales period....
