Ridiculous Stories In The News

“The movement specifically calls for the refusal of dating men (biyeonae), sexual relationships with men (bisekseu), heterosexual marriage (bihon), and childbirth (bichulsan).”

But you'll still make girl-girl porn no?

"David Crisp admitted to an undercover investigator that he had “ignored government edicts” on sanctions by selling £1,000-a-bottle 'Boadicea the Victorious' perfume in Russia.

Mr Crisp was arrested in 2023 by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) - the UK government agency responsible for sanctions enforcement - but the investigation was dropped earlier this year. This is despite the discovery of evidence that he tried to conceal more than £1.7m of illegal sales."

"In 2022, Simonas Kairys, Lithuania’s then-minister of culture, decided that performing Russian composer Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet The Nutcracker was no longer an appropriate way to celebrate the Christmas season. Lithuania is a staunch supporter of Ukraine, and Mr. Kairys, believing that Russian culture could not be separated from Russian imperialism, called for a 'mental quarantine' – otherwise known as 'cultural decolonization.'

At the end of last year, Šarūnas Birutis, the newly installed culture minister, announced that he liked Tchaikovsky’s music and saw no reason to prohibit it. Some Lithuanians agree, including another former minister of culture, who said: 'We fought Soviet power to get the freedom not to ban things.'

The Nutcracker debate in Lithuania echoes similar, though usually more fraught, arguments in Ukraine. In 2023, the Kyiv City Council decided that Russian music, plays, books, and art should no longer be showcased in public. Statues of Pushkin, one of Russia’s greatest poets, were removed from public places."

Tchaikovksy and Pushkin died before the USSR was even born.

"South Korean police have called for the woman - who is currently in Japan - to come forward for questioning on charges of sexual harrassment in a public space."

A woman kissing a man means sexual harassment in a public space. This coming from the nation where it was okay to roll up a magazine in the business class section of a South Korean flight and use it to whack a stewardess.

American family seeks asylum in Canada, citing Trump

If some immigration lawyer can successfully argue there are legitimate refugees from the States they ought to get a medal.

“Kaitlyn said Trump's claim early in his second term that there are only two genders was of particular concern to the family, as one of the older children is transgender, and another identifies as gender fluid. She said she pulled the children out of school one day after his inauguration, worried about their mental health.”

"When [Trump] signed that executive order revoking Biden's prescription plan that put a cap on prices, my insulin went from $35 to $900 for a month,"

“The spending spree also included $1.8m for credit card bills, $3.7m on furniture and antiques and $933,000 on mattresses and luxury bedding, the Justice Department states.

The indictment also alleges that $1m of the cash was sent to lawyers to sue Netflix in hopes of receiving more funds, and for a divorce.

A profile of the dispute published by the New York Times in 2023 reported that friends and colleagues had described Mr Rinsch of growing increasingly erratic shortly after he signed the Netflix deal.

The newspaper reports that he believed he could predict lightning strikes and volcanic eruptions and knew about a ‘secret transmission mechanism’ for Covid-19.”

Might want to deploy some governance there Netflix.

The mind boggles at the ease with which some people appear to be given money -with no backup case etc.

OTOH with that sort of record and nutty ideas he'll be a prime recruit for Trump Administration -Bigly Role

The Scandal, the Firing and the Fallout

This is so funny. Practically all the places they went to I took my lady friends during that time. I probably sat near them not aware. Of course I wasn't making millions and committing career sabotage using corporate devices.

I have zero sympathy since during the last 2 years of their career I got so much grief from their underlings about how unprofessional my company was in acquiring (really bailing out) one of their businesses I'm not surprised this was happening behind their holier than thou veneer.

"The Chinese student, who lives in Japan, was first rescued by helicopter on Tuesday while on the Fujinomiya trail, which sits about 3,000m (9,800ft) above sea level.

He was unable to descend the trail after he lost his crampons - a spiked device that is attached to the bottom of climbing shoes for better traction.

But days later, he returned to the mountain to retrieve belongings that he left behind, including his phone. He was rescued again on Saturday after suffering from altitude sickness but is now out of danger."

Forgetful and idiotic.

"Scruffy hospitality". I will cook you my "Costco pesto" pasta. What is there to cook? It's pesto. Are you grinding it by mortar and pestle yourself?

And no, I don't want to be tripping over your kids' toys or your 20 pairs of shoes at the door.

Also no one has mentioned people's attires to even properly hosted dinner or lunches. Make an effort not to put on a collarless t-shirt and a pair of denim jeans...that are the same colour.

Friends don’t let friends do fashy salutes

Hard to say that was remotely close to the Roman salute from the Gladiator movie.

There was a lack of space and Mr. Pascal's presence prevented him from being able to wave freely.

If people are so scared of offending people they can do the wave from the George VI era. But then you end up being classed as a posh dick.
