I think everyone agrees that his conduct met the standards of an impeachable offense, but I’m also not so sure it was a good strategic move. Might be better to leave it to the courts, rather than add more fuel to the conspiracy theorists trying to delegitimize the government.
From what I’ve heard from the legal folks, criminal charges will be a difficult case to make and he would probably be aquited. Whereas the civil law suits against him, for his role in the attack, are likely to win (OJ Simpson, again).

That's exactly my concern. A large constituency of Trump supporters are rabid conspiracy theorists and this will potentially throw fuel on the fire.

Will it even be successful? What is the fall-out if they can’t get enough Republican support to convict? Will that be seen the same as a ‘not guilty’ verdict in a criminal trial?
The RNC can’t wait to cut him lose, to if he did try to run again it would be as a third party distraction. Maybe not a bad thing - he could pull all the whack jobs and white supremicists away from the Republican Party.
The justice system moves slowly, but eventually it catches up to everyone. He’s likely to spend the next several years defending himself in court anyway and criminal convictions would also prevent him from running again.

You can't let that sort of behavior go with no consequences. It needs the most extreme punishment as a future deterrent. Its not even about Trump.

They're doing exactly as they've stated all along and cannot be construed in any other way. Eventually, the rest of the world will tire of it and start to think Hmmm, bit of a Banana Republic that wot with that Biden family malarkey going on.
Even the Tech Giants are careful in the wordings of the ban i.e. it was interpreted by meaning that Trump was not inciting a coup d'etat.

Do they really fear that a 78 year old Trump would be fit and agile enough to get back in the ring in four years time?

I wouldn't get sucked into all the hype, this guy is just another toothless tiger who will toe the line. How do l know? Because we can easily see who is who from their actions and what they say. If you look into this guy you'll quickly notice that he skirts around the tough issues of China human rights, that is how you always tell who is for real and who is just a placement to make out a government is getting tough on China. You will find that this guy will be part of the swamp. Some people are easy to pick while others are difficult to pick, but so far this guy has `toothless tiger' written all over him.
Btw, be careful about the news going around alleging Trump asked his supporters to get violent. There are a number of fake versions of the news going around, but if you read Trump's original speech you'll find he never asked for any violence. Be careful not to be fooled by fake news media.

Brits don’t have anybody as loud as Alex Jones.
Ian Paisley in his pomp was a match. The woman on the video with Sky’s Bolton, posted here a while back, could also do loud.
Jones is also a snake oil salesman. The stuff he tries to shift on his shows including genuine quack medicines.
He can make some valid points but listening to him is very hard work.
