So if rich *people* will go to the country that best suits them, what makes you think that a country such as the US can lure back manufacturing?
Companies also go where it best suits them - the reason that so many companies set up in China is not because of some CCP conspiracy. It's because China was a) cheap and b) had a highly educated, well-trained pool of labour. There's no conspiracy there - just the ability to lower costs compared to manufacturing in a western country, and yet continue to efficiently produce high-quality products.
The problem is that, over the past 50 or so years, as trade barriers have been lowered, companies have shifted more and more production from first world countries to lesser-developed countries. It wasn't China at first - that's only been the past 20-30 years. At first it was places such as South Korea, Turkey, even Argentina. Now it's largely China, but also Vietnam or other places in Asia.
Globalism - and how it came to be and to evolve in to the international system we have now - is extremely complex. It's far, far, far more complicated than "the CCP seduced people in government". In fact, rather than China, or the CCP, bribing people in government, it's much, much more likely to be *western* companies that are giving kickbacks or special deals (or post-government employment) to people in politics and government, in return for government policies that favour their ability to manufacture overseas and import cheaply in to countries like Australia and the US.

One only hopes that there is a focus on policy and not another 4 years of fuck Trump, his family and allies at the expense of everything else. The current Soviet era erasing of Trump is intriguing as the media over here and elsewhere presents it as positive, but actually, for those who have lived under such regimes they are starting to turn against the MSM narrative as they see it for what it is: the humiliation of the individual by the party to scare others into submission.
At this stage, it looks like the Biden/Harris axis will be every bit as vindictive, vicious and relentless in pursuit as predicted. The delegitimizing and eventually black listing/criminalizing as domestic deplorable terrorists those who voted for Trump or were active in his administration is a strategic mistake. It will lesson America's standing in the world and agitate the political violence domestically.
