And why he was so triggered by fans while watching.

There were more social media videos that others took and if you put it together it was some bloke who was criticising him for taking the money and faking injuries. His kids were apparently sitting outside the suite. The stadium security and police came to escort him out and someone in the concourse said they saw this bloke whimpering and crying when a club official told him he's getting a lifetime ban from the stadium.

Holy hell, had no idea he was on that much. Ridiculous.

Lifetime ban is pretty harsh.

I was wondering what the qualifications for Ballon D'or were. I thought you have to be in Europe because after Qatar he didn't do too much with PSG and his (short) time at Miami wouldn't have counted but apparently I'm wrong.

Phil Neville sacked from Inter Miami right before Tata Marino, Messi and the Barca and Argentine friends show up. Then he gets a gig as assistant coach for Canada. Now back to manager in MLS for Portland. I wish I had friends who would make up jobs for me when I am looking for work.

Red Bull must be great for your CV. He went to United because of Rangnick and was assistant coach to the likes of Ronaldo. Then he ended up at Leeds with Jesse Marsch of Red Bull pedigree. Marsch is fired and he is caretaker manager.. Of a Premier League club.

Pretty young at 36 to get the gig. Good to see.

Well - I recall he was made captain by Wenger when he was...20 or something (?) at Arsenal. Not that his teammates really helped him when there was a scuffle. He was playing top flight as a teenager.

That said if you're starting MLS Cup final at CB when you're 39 like Chiellini and not subbed off there is something wrong too.

Barcelona retiree tour continues: Suarez joins Messi, Busquets and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami.

Cavalry Fc sign a lad who left my club, Lleyton Brooks. Bit out of the blue.

Uhh.... the Canadian Premier (this is an understatement) League has a $1.2M salary cap for the entire squad. He was signed for a pittance?

A few get plucked for MLS but usually it's MLS washouts who play there.

I think one club made it to the CONCACAF Champions League but got outclassed by the more professional and skilled clubs.

We cut him earlier this year so they got him for nothing. Weird decision. Must be a lifestyle choice, new adventure type thing.

Picking up drugs and West Ham go up by one at Emirates. Walk down the street by the Irish pub and West Ham are up by two.

Arsenal is supposed to choke after the holiday fixtures... Not during.

10th October: Birmingham - 6th in Championship - John Eustace as manager
1st January: Birmingham - 20th in Championship - Wayne Rooney as manager

Rooney appointed just as he wraps up a dismal MLS season with DC United.

Arsenal beginning its post Christmas slump. Liverpool eliminate them from FA Cup.

Asian and African Cups on at the same time is brilliant.

Which one has more quality? I guess Asia covers nations like Iran too?

I was watching the Captains show on Netflix with my father yesterday and remarked that China and India with 1.4B people each still can't find 11 men to qualify for World Cup.

Quality at the top end would be very similar but Africa probably has three or four more experienced and talented squads. Asia has Iran etc.

India is improving but still a long way off. They defended well for half a game against Australia. China invested billions and it has come to nothing so far.

Just looked quickly at the two countries' rosters on Wikipedia and all their players are in their local national league. We only started really improving in the modern era when players started playing in Europe. Technically MLS is American so the exposure helps raise the bar.

In other news, Mourinho is sacked again.

Jordan Henderson returns to Europe from Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile Gerrard signs an extension to his manager contract.

Inter Miami's pre-season tour takes on Al Nassr today. Messi vs Ronaldo.

Correction - Al Nassr didn't even want to risk playing Ronaldo.

Messi was on the bench.

Arsenal vs Liverpool this weekend. Will the post Christmas choke continue for the Gunners?

I was wrong. Arsenal won. Maybe that Klopp disclosure he is leaving is having a mental impact on his players.

World Cup 2026 games announced. Get ready for 5+ hour flights from one end of the continent to the other (latitude or longitude).

Vancouver got 7 fixtures compared to my hometown with 6. We need to increase seating in our stadium but we have a grass (actually hybrid grass + some synthetic) pitch. Vancouver has a bigger stadium because it's used for something else and has a plastic pitch. Hopefully they don't carpet over the place with grass and call it FIFA compliant.

MetLife stadium - home of American football - is the World Cup final stadium. Red Bull Arena - I vaguely recollects only seats 28K but is purpose built for footy.

Texas is hosting a lot. I don't know if people know what it's like to play in Texas in June and July.

Blue cards. They better print a lot of them for the Latin American fixtures.

Mbappe going to Real Madrid. Might take Modric's number 10 if Modric leaves.

MLS starts this weekend. We signed a 33 year old CB from Championship side Birmingham! World beaters.

Apparently MLS started yesterday. Messi with an assist and amazingly the entire Barcelona retiree squad started.

When you have a Hispanic reporter trying to speak Italian to interview an Italian player on US media.

It's sad I'm happy with a draw. It's very sad. A nil nil draw. Clean sheet!

What a waste! He had the talent to be one of the great French midfielders of his and any generation. The likes of Zizou, Platini etc ,

You would think like Russian athletes he would have performed and recovered from injuries better with the doping...
