I need to wear the Morny more and try some others, but probably so far. Luca Turin gave it 5 stars.

Today:

DR Harris Lavender Water - medicinal, its very musky. Not very strong.Thankfully a small bottle.

I've bought and tried the Caldey Island Lavender: nice opening, but very fleeting. The drydown is rather weak, clean but undistinguished. Altogether disappointing.

Do you have a favourite lavender? I would just apply it non stop...

Mayfair Lavender- a dark lavender. It's not very strong. I expected this to be identical to Lenthéric, but it's not so earthy or as strong.

Berdoues 1902 Lavender - Clean, very weak Lavender, unfortunately dries down to the Musk very quickly.

wearing the new dior tobaccolor today. really unsure about this one. the opening and mid were very sweet tobacco which i liked but the drydown some hours later has left most of the sweetness with little of the tobacco. going to need to try this one again.

Shaved with a Fatip with Gillette Silver Blue. Tabac soap and aftershave. I love the smell of Tabac.
I haven't used Tabac for donkeys years. I bought some Old Spice on a whim yesterday and I'm enjoying the memories its scent is bringing back.

I will look for Tabac soon.

have you ever thought of trying a non-lavender fragrance?
As I said previously, I have over 150 plus fragrances. I usually mix it up but I am doing a month/few weeks of Lavender to celebrate the start of Autumn.

Roger and Gallet Lavande Royale - Pure, clean Lavender. This has been out of stock on the R&G site for a while. The soaps are hard to find too. I have just ordered another two bottles. I regret not using more of this...

Woods of Windsor Lavender - A dark but not earthy Lavender. Slightly medicinal. Sadly, doesn't last long.

Grand Potentate Grand Potentate or anyone else: best site to order some Mancera decants? Since Mrs DB isn’t a fan of my current oud, I guess I’ll try some others.

You tried contacting mancera directly?

They sell a seven mini bottle sampler that looks like a pretty good selection close to what I’d choose myself, but I figured a third party decanter might be better value.

Maybe they can send you particular scents if you ask them.

Recommend going to Bloomingdales to try Acqua if Parma oud & spice

Ach Brito Lavanda - Clean and powdery.

A few years ago I favoured this over the Puig, now I not so sure.

Always rated the original Green, was taken off the market for quite some time. The deodorant stick was particularly good as well. Much better than the rest of the pantheon of RL coloured aftershaves.

Was hoping the Intense was going someting worthwhile.

You’re at a point in your life where you can afford to do better than crappy mall brands of fragrance.

Oddly enough, you can only get it online here. The malls and the department stores have either ditched, or been ditched by Ralph Lauren. That's how I came across all those watches in the Bijenkorf in Den Haag yesterday.

finally got a chance to smell the new frederic malle synthetic jungle. honestly, naming it synthetic dog shit would have been more apt. this is the worst thing i've smelled since alexander mcqueen's kingdom.

Joop! when it first came out was pretty good for a young man. Had a whiff last Saturday and it's clearly not the same fragrance. It's similar, but less intense and certainly not as good.

Different to the spicier and oudish scents I usually gravitate to, but I like this one and will likely buy a bottle for the sake of variety.

And, yes, they really did name it ‘Yellow Dream’ 🤦‍♂️

Do you guys rate Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte?

For a unisex fragrance, I always considered it masculine and we were in the Bijenkorf department store last weekend and had a whiff and it still smells the same to me. Last time I bought some must be nearly 20 years ago now.

Eh I was always kind of meh on it as it never really stood out as anything exceptional or worthy of a purchase. Also not a big vetiver guy
