Adventurer! Dare you embark on the new quest #GOPDnD?

Beware, for it is an extremely partisan adventure, devised by trolls who would seek to mock the White House from their dwellings in the forests of Twitter.

If you choose to go on, you will need to prepare yourself. We provide this legend to help you navigate the trials ahead:

DnD: Dungeons & Dragons — in which players assume the roles of adventurers engaged in an epic quest. The game plays out mostly in the players’ imaginations, possibly while they sit around a basement table in the 1980s or try to be retro with their friends. But it also involves an intricate system of dice rolls, spells and Tolkienesque language that can get annoying if overdone. Apologies for that.

PC: The player’s character — typically a warrior, mage or rogue, though in this case they’re Republican politicians and President Trump.

DM: The dungeon master or game master, who designs, narrates and directs the quest. An honored role among the players. See:


#GOPDnD: An ongoing quest in which the newly empowered Republican Party and its leader, Trump, battle tax codes, illegal immigration and — finally — the great forces of Obamacare, occasionally arguing about dice rolls along the way.

Breaking character is strictly forbidden in any Dungeons & Dragons game. (If it weren’t, we’d briefly note that #GOPDnD began trending earlier this month after tweets by podcaster James D’Amato and has since evolved into a viral, extremely elaborate parody of the young Trump administration’s stumbles.)

Now that we are properly provisioned, let us commence our journey. It begins on the electoral cliffs of 2016, where powerful forces stood in the way of Trump’s party of adventurers.



Against all expectation, Trump defeated the wizard Hillary Clinton. He and his followers discovered amazing new abilities as they pressed on.



Trump led his party to the land of Washington, where he battled many monsters.


Some foes were of this country, and some were from distant lands.




A few doubted their leader’s abilities, but Trump always prevailed.


Finally, the adventurers were strong enough to face their strongest enemy yet — Obamacare. They were armed with the spell, repeal and reform.



But the party suffered many losses, and the battle lasted many days. Finally, the climax:


Which was, honestly, sort of a confusing ending. But that can happen after a long quest.

The one on the right gets especially triggered. CBC has one too, love that our taxes go to someone telling Canadians everyone is racist for voting for Trump. It was bad enough that we paid for Don Cherry's awful suits.

I didn't follow the campaigns of each major party. I guess Martin Schulz, the EU leech is such a bad candidate that they sort of voted for Angela.
That state always had a large number of Muslims (mining, car and steel manufacturing in the past) and there has been a massive influx of migrants.
Voters were probably fed up with the situation and they punished the people in power, totally forgetting who caused the mess in the first place. The power of BILD and the MSM supporting the CDU/ Merkel.
 
Appears she does....funnily enough two of my associates are trying to get out of Belgium, one to the USA, the other's daughter has just been gang raped and he's looking for an escape route after he's found and killed the culprits. Seriously.

All getting ugly on the continent, whilst I feel immune somewhat here in the suburbs, it's only a temporary oasis.

That's where we are heading, but the time will come when the world on the outside is bigger and stronger than the world in the gated community. That is for my children's generation to sort out. What a terrible legacy, I hope they can forgive us.

All jest aside it can't be that bad. Afrikaners have been doing it in South Africa since apartheid ended. You just need to end up on the right side of the fence.

I was getting news from the forum and thought I'd point out Le Pen, Wilders, Hofer, and Farage aren't running any countries (yet?). Things are not as dire for the globalists as some portray it.

Some of them are who moved from Kosovo. But whoever they are, likely they will just disappear especially if they are illegals. Belgium is a bit like Italy in the 1970s without the spaghetti. Things happen there that wouldn't happen elsewhere in Europe. The Church there use to have pamphlets, in the 1990's, on how to accuse your ex-husband of child abuse during divorce to ensure you take him to the cleaners and he doesn't get any custody rights. Allegedly. Quite picturesque in parts, but a bewildering banana republic. Perfect place to locate the EU parliament.

The suburbs, in the English middle class sense, is the place to be. You can pretend all you like, some Victorian slum dwelling for foreman navvies and high levels of lead in the tap water where you can hear you neighbours having sex, taking the plug out, with no guaranteed car parking, is whichever way you polish it, crap. Despite the price and rumours that everyone in these places is some hotshot.

I've lived up town, down town, in penthouses and at street level, but nothing beats the suburbs for quality of life. Of course, if you asked me would I like to live in Ipanema or the North Zone of Rio in one of the "suburbs" like Caxias. Well that's a different proposition, but then again Ipanema off the beach is tree lined suburbia.

Strange, there's a weird and unfounded nostalgia for the public owned railways. It was just another inefficient, ineffectual and job creation scheme for sinister ticket collectors who looked like overweight nonces. It was awful. I would walk or get the bus.
 
Before German railways got privatized they might have been overstaffed (as usual in the administrative sector), but the trains were running according to schedule. The Deutsche Bahn looked after their tracks and trains.
You would set your clock to match the big ones at the train stations, and if the schedule said "due to arrive at 12.00" the train would arrive at 11.59 the latest.
After the part privatization the DB hired "experts" to help them make it more efficient.
So, naturally first they reduced staff (not in the administration, of course), mostly in the maintenance sector (they shut down a lot of the repair workshops for locomotives and wagons).
Next step was to pay staff for suggestions on where to get rid of tracks, also shutting down some smaller, mostly rural stations.
They then invested heavily in faster tracks and trains to shorten travel times between larger cities. Naturally the faster trains (Intercity's) had preference, so commuter trains had to wait and /or make way for the Intercity to pass.
Today, the German railway system is a total mess. The intercity trains are practically always delayed, often too crowded to get a seat and insanely expensive.
Daily commuters pay a hefty sum for their subscription tickets and constantly face delays or complete breakdowns of trains.

And from what I hear it's not much different in the UK.
The promises made by all parties (should they win the election) on a daily basis are pretty hilarious, and so are the accusations.
Over in Germany the SPD (Social Democrats) face similar problems as Labour does. There is not a big difference in policies between CDU and SPD and after a short media hype around Martin Schulz the MSM now blame him for the election defeats in the last few weeks.
Whoever wins in the upcoming general election in the UK or Germany, it will be more of the same lunacy we have seen (in Germany) since 1982.
 
Propaganda? I was more interested in something else. Those two girls can vote for anyone anytime in my books.

I'm really baffled why the federal Conservatives in Canada chose Toronto as their convention site to choose their new leader. They will never have an MP in any of the urban Toronto ridings.

Oh wait..they're not in Toronto. They're in a suburb next to the airport thinking they're in Toronto.

Unfortunately, the politician with the best sock game did not even make it to the final round in the French elections. It is ironic that it was partly his - shall we say - enthusiasm about dressing well that held him back:
