RL's look better, as they're a bit bolder, but 2 out of the half dozen above look reasonable plaids.

No. That's not how it works.
There are a mass of forums and they all have their trolls, the accepted short form for the prodders and rubbers- up you mention.
However, a troll on a cooking forum ultimately has an interest in cooking, and a troll on a menswear forum has more interest in how trousers ought to break than in how much kidney should go in a steak and kidney pudding, and so on. They troll forums which deal with topics which are essentially of interest to them.
Arguably, too, those who earnestly see themselves as honest, topic -focussed forum members - and I mean on any forum- might write such drivel that they are more annoying than the trolls, who can be amusing.
This was JFM's take on it and I believe it is Mr FNB's, too , who started FNB following his persecution by the moderators on AAAC. Many of the initial FNB forum members were similarly escapees from that forum and others like it and thus the FNB forum became known as Devil' s Island. It is this which I believe Shooey has in mind when he talks about the moderators who drove old posters away. It really was ironic how the forum began to be policed.
To be an effective troll you have to have some knowledge of the subject matter. Trolls are okay if they can be amusing or if they contribute something of value now and then, some do neither, know what I mean? No. That's not how it works.

Following the departure of Woof on TI, manic poster Sadness first hints he will go too, but then decided the place is thriving.
'The announcement of the demise of 'Talk Ivy' turns out to have been a shade premature. New postings have put fresh heart and spunk into me. I was overjoyed, whilst sipping my breakfast orange juice, to read a number of interesting posts from our chum Horace; and others have been steadily chipping in.
But where is our Alvey?
Nice try, Sammy, but no cigar.'

AFS = Sadness
Look for a poster with a first name which means the sound of a dog and a second name which means one who fights.Woofy is posting here??
Andy's putting up a stoic rearguard action. But it doesn't matter that FNB has got the website domain going to 2050, the problem will be the legacy software of the website itself which will be ever increasingly incompatible with browsers, etc. A good example is not being able to post photos.Following the departure of Woof on TI, manic poster Sadness first hints he will go too, but then decided the place is thriving.

Only for you Sammy.Look for a poster with a first name which means the sound of a dog and a second name which means one who fights.
That means Woof Boxer has morphed into Barking Pugilist. Sounds like fighting talk.
That's true. I suppose Andy must be AFS. He is trying his best but I really don't know why he refuses to give it a go over here. Do iGents get stubborn in old age? Looks like it.Andy's putting up a stoic rearguard action. This might interest you, Barking.Only for you Sammy.
Thanks SammyThis might interest you, Barking.
You were used along with Jim and WM.
You don't know how many poor people gave the scammers their credit card numbers. But as you say, you obviously have a look that the scammers reckoned would bring in the business. Thanks Sammy
Used and abused without even knowing it. The worst thing is that I was only valued at $18.18 and still no one applied.
I’ve missed my calling, I could have been an influencer.
feel like this was just taking shots at doghouse :An Ivy wearer gets captured by Craptom on Permanent Style. The Talk Ivy boys rejoice but then start to fall about about 'the look'. Our Bongo player has had enough and starts shouting at them.

"What a load of bitter, depressing shit this forum can so often be. Anything that's not ivy by numbers and/or by a 1980s JS customer is a threat."

Fair comment. He probably drinks something fashionable like a negro
Whilst reading WM Brown magazine
He's doing the Lord's work W. Let's the rest of us mind things like our actual jobs and suchYou seem to be checking it several times a day though.
He does write beautifully (about menswear) though. Albeit, a lot of it is bloviation.RJman aka Reginald Jerome de Mans. Your go-to guy If you want endless drivel about some obscure French menswear brands.
Lots of good stuff on there for small minds. I love it.View attachment 43892
These old threads provide us not only with the history of thinking regarding menswear but also the general concerns of the posters. I hope someone is methodically keeping a record of it somewhere for the amusement of future generations.Blast from the past! I hadn’t thought about RJ in ten years. Or cell phone tower radiation protection!
Yes this loss of pics is sad - it was a great trove of historical pics often used to illustrate points of view -The worst part are the lost pictures across all forums. Without them the context of many posts is lost or worthless. If they would still exist they would serve as the most comprehensive archive of men's style dating back more than 20 years. What was lost there weren't only photos of user outfits but also shop windows, shoe models and so on.
Now that is embarrassing. I used to use the occasional bad word back in those days. These days l wouldn't dare.Lots of good stuff on there for small minds. I love it.View attachment 43892

Ok let’s keep that opinion on the insideDo you mock or take unseriously the real danger of cell towers?
There really more than 25.000 scientific studies about. I have readed a few hundred
He seems to have tried but didn't follow the rules and had a thread deleted. You attempts to bring him over here seem to have sent him over the edge.
That would really surprise me, the only place where the mods are more lenient is probably 4chan.He seems to have tried but didn't follow the rules and had a thread deleted.
