This is the fifth or sixth raid deep inside Russia that we are aware of. Targets have all been military or oil and gas production/storage.

Expect a Hollywood treatment of the Ukrainian partisans and CIA teaming up to beat Putin in the future.

We'll see, but if the brother-in-law is still on his LNG ship (what better reserved occupation?) it may yet fall on me to go and get the mother-in-law and the brother-in-laws wife's parents out. I won't be going in the Polo, I'll take his Mercedes SUV, as you do for these types of missions.

Shouldn't he be fighting the good fight, by being a doctor for the troops and civilians left behind? Surely that was the right move for a doctor in a war zone, especially in a country he had called home for the last 8 years.

I've seen conflicting reports on this, one African student had a Youtube channel and he didn't have any issued getting out, or experienced any racism.

Also the Red Crescent is very active on the borders and welcoming refugees - many brown and black faces there.

Surely after living for 8 years on Ukrainian soil this "doctor" should have asked to be naturalized, why didn't he do that? Especially since he claims that he "doesn't know Ghana anymowe" his country of citizenship. What's the holdup then? Ukraine will grant you a Ukrainian citizenship after just 5 years of continuous residency there. He just has to show that he can communicate in Ukrainian and renounce his Ghanaian citizenship. Why didn't do just that? it's not that difficult to do.... These nuclear engineers and neurosurgeons from Afwica never cease to amaze me.

Residents who aren't going back to their own countries of citizenship are just looking for some freeloading, they just want an easy time and blame Europe for not kissing their dirty ass. Ukrainians can't go back to their home countries, residents can. That's the difference between being a refugee and a leech.

It's interesting that the BBC are naive enough to think we should feel sympathy towards him. If he was a man, he would be using his skills in the country that adopted and trained him. Instead this ''doctor'' as you correctly identify him as, is looking for the refugee ticket. He's not looking to practice medicine any time soon. And that's very revealing. Since when have MD's in the final stages of specializing considered themselves students?

But the truth will out: you see now in the UK local councils turning on the government with their plans to house 100's and some cases 1000's of the dinghy arrivals in their communities. As they now know, this is the next generation of those looking to live on the dole. And it's costly.

Here the government has asked the local councils to build temporary pods or accommodation for refugees. Not for the Ukrainian ones, they're entitled to arrive and work straight away. All of my wife's family who have arrived are already gainfully employed. But these are for the more tricky ones, those next generation of doctors, engineers and scientists who it takes many years to integrate into polite society. Think there's some pods being built by my office, I will try and take some photos over the weekend. They look cheap and nasty.
