This Week In News That Makes You Doubt Your Committment To Humanity

It’s Not Just Mike Pence. Americans Are Wary of Being Alone With the Opposite Sex.

This is insane. I thought it was the land of the free except Mike Pence's home state.

60% of women, and 48% of men think having a drink alone with the opposite sex who isn't your spouse is inappropriate.
53% of women, and 45% of men think having dinner alone with the opposite sex who isn't your spouse is inappropriate.
44% of women and 36% of men think having lunch alone with the opposite sex who isn't your spouse is inappropriate.

I have drinks, lunches and dinners with married and engaged women every week. Crikey, if only I picked single women my pool would expand!

The worst is that statistic at the bottom. 34% of evangelicals think having a work meeting with the opposite sex who isn't your spouse is appropriate. I have female direct reports. I'm never going to have a one on one with them if I'm evangelical. And whomever thought that having a work meeting *WITH* your spouse alone in a conference room with a closed door is at all appropriate? That would ring even more alarm bells.

It's probably because you're non-threatening. If you were tall, handsome and well coiffed it'd probably be a different story and they wouldn't go out for platonic drinks.

Do people shag each other *every* meal or drink? You have to eat - usually three times a day. Maybe that's why porn consumption is high.

It'd be nice if they did a survey of whether you'd go out with a gay or lesbian. Suggested questions include: "If you're a woman and you go out with a married lesbian, would it be inappropriate?" "Evangelicals, if you were a man and you went out with a single gay man, are you at risk of being gay too?"

People are just people. Men, women, married or unmarried, gay or straight will jump you or cry rape regardless. You just have to take a risk. Like crossing the street.

the age breakdown was indicative as well. more younger women thought it was inappropriate than older women. feminism run amok has made speaking with the opposite sex a dicey proposition. the comments are interesting as well. many male professionals saying they completely avoid these interactions just so they can avoid the suspicion of wrong doing.

India woman attacked with acid for fifth time

Some TopTop™ logic behind this:

The woman, 35, had been receiving round-the-clock police protection because of the previous attacks, which were linked to a property dispute.

Anger is growing at the authorities' inability to protect her.

She was allegedly gang-raped and first attacked with acid by two men in 2008, over a property dispute, the details of which are not clear.

The same two men are then accused of throwing acid at her twice more - in 2012 and 2013 - to try and get her to drop the criminal charges against them.

An 18-Year-Old Is Accused Of Driving Drunk And Livestreaming When She Crashed And Killed Her Sister
Authorities say Obdulia Sanchez was driving drunk when she veered off the road and crashed. The teen was live on Instagram and recorded her sister's death.

An 18-year-old is accused of veering off the road Friday while driving drunk, killing her younger sister in the ensuing crash, all while livestreaming on Instagram.

Authorities say Obdulia Sanchez, from Stockton, California, was driving under the influence of alcohol around 6:40 p.m. when she lost control of the Buick and swerved across lanes, crashing through a barbed wire fence and overturning in a field, ejecting her sister, Jacqueline Sanchez, and another 1girl who sustained "major injuries," California Highway Patrol Sergeant Darin Heredia told BuzzFeed News on Sunday.

The two 14-year-old girls were sitting in the backseat and not wearing seat belts, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

Sanchez, who has more than 7,400 followers on Facebook and Instagram, is being held in the Merced County Jail on felony charges of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Before crashing, Sanchez had been recording herself singing along to music and flipping off the camera, capturing glimpses of the two younger teens in the back as she turned her phone from herself onto the empty road. The footage then goes blurry and red when the car swerves and screams and sounds of metal scratching can be heard.

Sanchez screams Jacqueline's name before she faces the camera while positioning it so that her sister's body can be seen lying in a field behind her.

"I fucking love my sister to death. I don't give a fuck. We about to die. This is the last thing I wanted to happen to us but it just did," she says. "Jacqueline, please wake up. This is the last thing I wanted to happen... I killed my sister, but I don't care. I killed my sister. I know I'm going to prison, but I don't care. I'm sorry, baby. I'ma hold it down.... rest in peace, sweetie."

CHP spokesman Wyatt Foster told BuzzFeed News on Monday that the graphic video was "absolutely" being used as evidence in the investigation and would be presented, along with the CHP report, to the Merced County District Attorney's Office.

Foster said that the CHP was working closely with the district attorney to see if Sanchez should face "more severe charges."

Authorities are in the process of determining the 18-year-old's exact level of intoxication, according to Foster. He said he was unable to disclose if Sanchez had a prior criminal record because that is "protected information."

The other 14-year-girl was transported to an undisclosed hospital for "major leg trauma," Foster said. He did not know what her current condition was.
Mary Hernandez, who recorded a copy of the video, told BuzzFeed News that Sanchez is a friend of a friend and when she heard about the footage, she recorded it from Instagram's Stories feature before it could disappear after 24 hours.

Hernandez said that Instagram did not remove the content and it had been up for 19 hours when she saw and recorded it.

"So many people kept saying 'What video? I wanna see it,'" so she posted the recording on her Facebook page because she "couldn't believe it was real."

"At first I was skeptical, but the more people reached out to me, then her cousin confirmed it was her," she said. "It's just so insane to believe that happened to girls from my city. It is for sure an eye-opener. I see people on their phones on social media all the time."

"I think this video can get a lot of people to think twice about using their phones while driving now," she added.

People in the community and on social media are shocked and horrified by the footage, Hernandez said.

"No one wanted to believe it, it was so crazy how desensitized and careless she seemed about someone as close to her as her sister," she noted. "Who in the right mind continues to record?"

She says the video got up to 700,000 views before Facebook took it down.

Before the crash, Hernandez says Sanchez recorded herself on her Instagram story driving recklessly, swerving toward an oncoming car that was crossing in front of her while a younger girl waves her hands and yells from the passenger seat. Hernandez shared the video with BuzzFeed News.

Sanchez's sister, Jacqueline, was supposed to celebrate her quinceañera on Sunday. A GoFundMe page was set up to help with funeral expenses.

The teens were coming from the Fresno area that evening, but Darin says police do not know what they had been doing previously or where they were going.

"They were very uncooperative after the arrest and [Sanchez] was screaming about her sister," he said.

Operation Sanctuary: Newcastle child sex network convicted

More "Asians" running a sex ring for older "Asians" (ab)using young English girls and women.
Just a few of the 26 convicted criminals so far.

Intergration worked really well:
Those prosecuted were from the Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Iraqi, Iranian and Turkish communities and mainly British-born, with most living in the West End of Newcastle.

However, there has been outcry over this:

A police force paid a child rapist more than £10,000 for help during an investigation, it has emerged.

On a recent flight from Washington to Phoenix, naturopath Josh Axxe jumped out of his seat when the captain asked if anyone on board was a doctor. A passenger near the rear of the plan had begun seizing and was unconscious on the floor. The passenger also had a deep laceration on her forehead after hitting it on the seat.

According to reports, Mr. Axxe laid the patient, 30-year old Genna Hill, on her back and asked someone to get him his carry-on bag. He apparently tried applying several different essential oils to the patient with no success. It was at this point that Axxe declared the patient’s chakras were completely out of sync and he needed healing crystals stat.

“No one really knew what he was talking about,” said one passenger. “He kept asking for healing rocks and muttering about subluxations or something.”

Eventually one of the other passengers, a medical receptionist, mentioned to Mr. Axxe that maybe he should apply some pressure to her head wound to help stop the bleeding. She also told Axxe that he shouldn’t move her neck around so much and perhaps move her onto her side. It was at this point that Axxe sank back onto his heels and declared “I think we lost her.”

Moments later the woman came to and slowly sat up with help from the medical receptionist, who was holding a towel on her head wound.

According to witnesses, Axxe then rushed in and helped the woman to her seat, explaining that he had probably just saved her life.

I would prefer payment for a one way ticket back to his ancestral homelands where he can practice his cultural norms amongst his own kith and kin.

I did notice that the MSM has changed its narrative somewhat over this issue. Clearly it's so bad something must be done before the vigilantes start stringing them up by their balls and the militias form.

Compared to earlier reports the BBC was now openly stating the countries of origin. But in the news bulletins the child abusers were still called "Asians". Overall they still avoid the "Muslim" connection. They also hardly mentioned that they are British born, so integration clearly has worked.

My comments were based on Sky News which I consider as odorous and as on message as the Beeb. It was good to watch. But I see the BBC News is right on form today making an issue of which UKIP leadership candidates are against Sharia courts. Our Establishment is truly rotten to the core and must be purged by blood if necessary. We have arrived at a point where the Beeb considers the UK's system of Common Law and equality under the law as subservient to Sharia. Truly remarkable and an indicator of how late the hour is and how low the establishment is. Common Purpose muppets the lot of them.

Houston isn't really flood prone. They just got a years worth of rain in 3 days.

It varies by locality, but here your floor has to be at a certain elevation for this reason.

Montana mauling which ends with mule trek to safety

A grizzly bear has mauled a bow hunter in the US state of Montana, slashing a 41-centimetre cut in his head that required 90 stitches.

"I could hear bones crunching, just like you read about," Tom Sommer said as he recovered in hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

The 57-year-old said he and a hunting partner were looking for an elk they had been calling on Monday morning.

His partner spotted a grizzly bear feeding on an elk carcass in the southern end of the Gravelly Range, just north of the Idaho border. "The bear just flat-out charged us," Mr Sommer said, saying it closed the nine-metre distance between them in three or four seconds. His hunting partner fired his bear spray, which slowed the bear's charge. Mr Sommer said he grabbed his own canister so quickly that he couldn't release the safety and he couldn't afford to look down as the bear closed in. He ran around a tree twice and dropped his bear spray in the process.

Mr Sommer then grabbed his pistol and turned to confront the bear. He still had his pistol in his hand and was going to shoot the bear in the neck when it swatted his arm down, Mr Sommer said. "Just like that it stopped," he said. "He stopped biting me, he got up and started to run away."

His hunting partner had been able to fire the rest of his bear spray, ending the attack, which lasted about 25 seconds.
"It could have been a lot worse," Mr Sommer said. Mr Sommer's hunting partner had some blood coagulation powder and they made a turban, stopping the bleeding after about 15 minutes. They walked 1.6 kilometres back to their camp and rode mules another 6.4km out to their base camp, followed by a two-hour ride in a ute to get to the hospital in Ennis. "Through it all I was very conscious, very level-headed and low key about it," Mr Sommer said.

"Besides some scars, it doesn't appear that I will have any problems.

"I've been a hunter my whole life. I have no grievance against the bear. He was just doing what bears do. "But I would have shot him just the same."

"Canada's largest school board is phasing out the word 'chief' from senior staff job titles, saying the move is being made out of respect for Indigenous peoples. When The Saints Of First Baptist Church Were Murdered, God Was Answering Their Prayers
Sometimes, God's will is done by allowing temporal evil to be the means through which he delivers us from eternal evil.

NOVEMBER 6, 2017

“Prayers don’t work. We need legislation.” This has been many secular progressives’ mantra in response to recent mass shootings in America. On Sunday, after a gunman murdered more than 20 people during a church service in Sutherland Springs, Texas, some of them found proof of the powerlessness of prayer.

People of goodwill can certainly disagree over the merits of gun control legislation, just as we can disagree over how long we should wait after a tragedy to discuss its political ramifications. However, we should all recognize that pointing to a couple dozen warm corpses and saying, “Fat lot of good your Jebus-begging did you” is an act of profound ugliness.

It’s also an act of profound ignorance. For those with little understanding of and less regard for the Christian faith, there may be no greater image of prayer’s futility than Christians being gunned down mid-supplication. But for those familiar with the Bible’s promises concerning prayer and violence, nothing could be further from the truth. When those saints of First Baptist Church were murdered yesterday, God wasn’t ignoring their prayers. He was answering them.

“Deliver us from evil.” Millions of Christians throughout the world pray these words every Sunday morning. While it doesn’t appear that the Lord’s Prayer is formally a part of the worship services at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, I have no doubt that members of that congregation have prayed these words countless times in their lives.
Evil Isn’t Just Temporal
When we pray these words, we are certainly praying that God would deliver us from evil temporally—that is, in this earthly life. Through these words, we are asking God to send his holy angels to guard us from those who would seek to destroy us with knives and bombs and bullets. It may seem, on the surface, that God was refusing to give such protection to his Texan children. But we are also praying that God would deliver us from evil eternally. Through these same words, we are asking God to deliver us out of this evil world and into his heavenly glory, where no violence, persecution, cruelty, or hatred will ever afflict us again.

We also pray in the Lord’s Prayer that God’s will be done. Sometimes, his will is done by allowing temporal evil to be the means through which he delivers us from eternal evil. Despite the best (or, more accurately, the worst) intentions of the wicked against his children, God hoists them on their own petard by using their wickedness to give those children his victory, even as the wicked often mock the prayers of their prey.

During Christ’s crucifixion, for example, the same chief priests, scribes, and elders who conspired to put Jesus to death mocked him, saying, “He saved others; he cannot save himself. He is the King of Israel; let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. He trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he desires him. For he said, ‘I am the Son of God’”

Yet God proved his son’s divinity by, three days later, lifting him up out of the death those men gave him. Despite the chief priests, elders, and scribes doing all they could to silence the one who claimed to be the savior of the world, God turned their hatred into the catalyst of the world’s salvation.
Your Evil Has Secured My Eternal Bliss
Because of Christ’s saving death and resurrection, death no longer has any power over those who belong to him through faith. So the enemies of the gospel can pour out their murderous rage upon Christians, but all they can truly accomplish is placing us into the arms of our savior.

Saint Stephen was stoned to death after proclaiming the glory of Christ, but those who took his life only succeeded at being God’s instrument for answering his penultimate prayer, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Those who put the early martyrs to the sword surely mocked the God who wasn’t there to protect his followers. Yet through this very persecution God honored his promise to welcome his faithful into his eternal protection.

So when a madman with a rifle sought to persecute the faithful at First Baptist Church on Sunday morning, he failed. Just like those who put Christ to death, and just like those who have brought violence to believers in every generation, this man only succeeded in being the means through which God delivered his children from this evil world into an eternity of righteousness and peace.

“We do not need to fear the day of persecution that’s coming to the church, because God said it’s going to come. He warned us over 2,000 years ago the day was coming. And rather than fear it, He said just endure it. Now ‘endure it’ is a hard word. ‘Endure it’ doesn’t mean that they might take your ice cream away today. ‘Endure it’ means it may be a rough day. It may be a rough few years. But the one who endures to the end will be delivered.”

These are words that First Baptist’s pastor, Frank Pomeroy, preached on October 19, 2014—a little more than three years before his 14-year-old daughter and 25 other members of his congregation were murdered. Despite the immense sorrow he, his family, and his congregation are now experiencing, I pray they will still trust in these words.

Despite the horror that madman made the saints of First Baptist endure, those who endured it with faith in Christ have received his victory. Although the murderer filled their eyes with terror, God has now filled them with his glory. Although he persecuted them with violence, God seized that violence and has now used it to deliver his faithful into a kingdom of peace. Although this madman brought death to so many, God has used that death to give them the eternal life won for them in the blood of Jesus.

Those who persecute the church and those who mock Christians for trusting in Almighty God rather than Almighty Government may believe that the bloodshed in Texas proves the futility of prayer. But we believers see the shooting in Texas as proof of something far different—proof that Christ has counted us worthy to suffer dishonor for his nameand proof that no amount of dishonor, persecution, or violence can stop him from answering our prayer to deliver us from evil.

^I'm almost speechless.

I didn't realise that, for want of a better word, such mediaeval attitudes towards religion still existed. In essence, he's saying that the families of the victims should be grateful for the death of their loved ones as they are now martyrs in heaven.

“By 2014, both Russia and China, people didn’t just want designer brands anymore… they wanted class, they wanted culture – they wanted what money can’t buy, which they tried to buy.”

You can't buy class. You can't simply adorn yourself in material goods and co-opt in to a culture. And for the Chinese and Russian nouveau riche you certainly show your humble roots by your dearth of manners.

India's a dump, but what great marketing. They've suckered quite a few major companies in my business sector on the strength of their knowledge and engineering export and prowess. We've also come across and won against the infamous Gupta Brothers in South Africa.

It's a caste ridden and corrupt hell hole and the best you can hope for being over there is trapped in a 5 star hotel on the company tab.

I got the sad story of two Danish chaps Larsen and Toubro not being able to return to Denmark due to WW2. Somehow engineering expertise doesn't mean it moves through generations nor horizontally into different disciplines, but some of us signed up to be suckers. In moments of drunkenness they even confessed we bought into their story.

It's a caste ridden and corrupt hell hole and the best you can hope for being over there is trapped in a 5 star hotel on the company tab.

I heard that's good for when you get food poisoning. There's a soft rug and good climate control for when you are praying in front of the porcelain goddess.
