All the seasonal shirts I wanted by Turnbull & Asser over the last 18 months or so, have all been available in their online sales in my size. Not this time though! Such is the risk of waiting and not paying full whack.

Anyway, I bought this 120 shirt which will be a good asset until the end of September:

One thing I've noticed, is that they haven't done the Sea Island shirts in the seasonal range for awhile. I picked up a few of them at seriously cost effective prices over the last couple of years. The 120s are good, but the Sea Island Quality are superb in the summer and I imagine if you lived in the Tropics and needed to wear a suit/jacket or long sleeved shirt this would be the way to go...if you could afford it, as they're €295 a pop and the West Indian Sea Island are €400 a shirt. I don't have the true West Indian Sea Island shirts, but I imagine you could function fully suited up in Rio with such a shirt.

depends on what they've got in stock really. most down here are garbage. i've heard of the ones up north having great pieces.

The ones here on Long Island are great for XL sizes of Bugatchi shirts...

Have picked out my box car for my next trip so I figured I needed a new hobo coat

26 ounce ombré plaid wool. Detachable very sheepy collar

Of course we do. We are tackys

And you refuse to raise the quality of the thread by posting yours.

Ofc we are all tackys. That hobo coat is horrid though.

The stuff nightmares are made of.

Is this how you'd don yours?:

Ololo. Horses for courses. YMMV.

Too mixed media for proper top top farmer, lumbersexual, workwear vibe

Wool hobo coat/mackinaw works well casually plus is functional while doing chores in the cold and wet at 5:30 AM with or without this accessory when you are planning the day's office CosPlay

Truth, l greatly admire that you own a tractor, it's a very manly thing to own. I can see how the clothes you own are perfect for the conditions which you are in (to do farm stuff).

I have admired tractors for many years and used to know all the various models well and what they did and I loved checking them out, so when l see your tractor here you definitely get the thumbs up from me. The old FCB backhoe loader was my favourite, but l also liked the old CAT and loved the vintage John Deere front loaders.

Two beauties, both JCB backhoes:

Damn Shooey, that is great. Did not know you were a tractor man! Tractors and Big Johnny Lobbs.

I miss my Bobcat that I sold with all the various buckets, a Post hole auger and the front mounted backhoe. But it was reluctant to start at -30

Yep, tractors and BIG Johnny Lobb, the two great things in life.

Bobcats are pretty cool,l have always loved those too. Actually l love all the tractors. If l had my way i'd own all the great vintage tractors, and if l had nothing to dig up i'd just dig something up for the heck of it....i'd wanna get on that tractor and do manly stuff and have the tractor energy racing through my blood. Living in the city is a sacrifice, i'd much prefer to get out in the country and ride a tractor and dig up the dirt AND wear big John Lobb while i'm doing it.

I was up at Swan Hill the Grand Final weekend and against my better judgement allowed Ms fxh to talk me into going to the Pioneer Museum (its about 5 hectares of indoor outdoor village stuff). A bit to expensive but OK in the end. They had a huge collection of old steam engines and tractors. Even an old single cylinder Bulldog which I had experience of as a kid on the farm. Steel wheels. You cranked it by hand and if you got it wrong it went backwards. They started it up for me.

In bed all day with this virus/flu that's going around, in-between the BBC Supernatural series from 1977 and some Hammer gothic horror, I pulled the trigger online for the Greve Breda brogues in black and burgundy country grain. I've done my research, these are the elusive Dutch shoes that match Northampton made ones. At least that's what I believe p and I've just ordered two of the blighters. I will update when they arrive.

Also pulled the trigger on this Cordings Shetland tweed blazer:

https://www.cordings.co.uk/shetland-tweed-blazer.html

Not a big fan of ticket/watch pockets on jackets, always considered them an anachronism, but I figured it was time to explore Cordings and this was pretty much their entry level jacket and with winter approaching....

All I need now is a tractor

Nice jacket!

I think so, but we'll soon find out next week.

I have to discipline myself: left to my own devices it will always end up being green/brown themed jackets and various shades of brown shoes. I have to discipline myself into not buying what I get enticed with. That's why I've done well with navy blazers recently, but my shoe pyramid is so top heavy with brown shoes it's ridiculous.

The Greve's Breda's arrived this morning:

The above are the scoth grain in burgundy, I also got a black pair.

The last, at least side on, are reminiscent of some of the Johnny Lobb's RTW, but for a quarter of the price. They're a little bit different to my normal brogues, so a good change.

Nice leather soles too, but they're getting a rubber topsy on them this week.
