I bought Phil Howard's cookbook and I've been reading it for 3 hours straight.
That is ridiculous. You also wouldn’t perform the Ring at home, on your own, for a few friends. Even if you enjoy cooking more than eating (which I certainly don’t).10 to 30 hours... now I get even more pressure.

That's an intriguing, if not comical proposition, the Ring cycle performed at home, on piano or on guitar. Over several nights. By one person. That is ridiculous. No pics for the show thread?Picked up my pair of shoes from the cobbler. Sole and heel completely re-done, rubber and tap. I promised not to muck it up with salt. Going into the head office with them today so plenty of use on polished concrete.

I saw they were in the sale sub last week and had EEE sizes. For those of us who aren’t Big Shoo Daddies, they seem like decent value along with the Dalton boot. It's a lowly AE Park Avenue.

How do you know I have wide feet? I think E will do but it always depends on the model.

I just realised I am here to entertain the facilities staff because the return to office rules were to be decided today and in effect next week. I'm a week early.
it is not all about you Fwiffs.Dropbear and
Grand Potentate have wide feet. They've mentioned it many times in posts.
don't be a tone deaf cunt like the recently departed Pimpernel/CucklyDropbear. Yes. Wide feet. I thought was E.
It is not all about you - what my CxO often said to me in my old company and I'm following his footsteps now into redundancy.
right on, JI did my annual check-up with my doc yesterday. I told him to do every damn test that’s covered by my insurance and he did. I was sure they would find something for me to be concerned about but all of my labs are excellent. I felt like the last two years aged me 20 but the blood work says otherwise. The good die young and I will live forever.
That's great news. How many tests are we talking here? What were they?I did my annual check-up with my doc yesterday. I told him to do every damn test that’s covered by my insurance and he did. Thanks. I’m still a little shocked. I was sure something would come back high enough for him to tell me to moderate intake of something, but everything is between good and great. That's great news. How many tests are we talking here? What were they?
More than one person or household can get into the lift! Hurray coronavirus.
Fwiffs likes to be a faux EnglisherElevator?
That vesting period mantra is a bit of a bitch, isn't it? I walked away from a gig a while back and it was a VSOP vesting period of five years and I didn't peruse all the clauses and sub-clauses and left in year two and walked away from a seven figure sum as the company's valuation rose exponentially and was eventually bought out. That stung and still stings to this day.Getting my money tomorrow. Part 2 of 3.
It doesn't look like I'll see part 3 of 3 because the vesting period isn't how I understood it when I first signed up.

Hence, why I am poor.
Indeed. I thought a size 42L/44 was the kind of chest size with a bit of muscle a man should have? But I am 185cms with a heavy weight boxers reach, but sadly, wasted on me, on account of my delicate hands. I could of been a contender, if I had inherited my grandfathether's hands.36S? Mate, you probably need to to be adding more mass (lean tissue, not fat) than cutting down.
Kudos on the discipline of ditching crap though.

Towards the end of this month I will go on a vegetarian (mostly) eat once a day diet. Also the weather should be better, so I can get out biking which will help get the muscles toned. As I've got older, I have zero interest in high wind/bad weather cycling. I will do weights everyday at home. I don't eat any biscuits and very careful with my diet, but still not easy to keep my weight in the zone of 34-36 waist. The vintage 501's I got I needed to get 38'', although they've loosened up, but they'll shrink first time I wash them.I have one jacket and two suits that are 36S which I bought at the peak of my weight loss a few cycles ago. The rest are 38S - obviously wide ranging of brands, cuts and fit.
I was afraid the dreaded middle age metabolism crash finally hit me. I read about the tragedy of losing X% of muscle mass every Y years but that was a joke for me given only my thighs are big. I was never built up.
After the first lockdown, I started to lose weight in the summer of 2020 and was nearly back to "normal" by the beginning of winter 2020. I skipped lunch and walked 50km/60km and simply stopped eating like the world was ending tomorrow. I did start some medication during that summer. Then everything started accumulating again. After the start/end of the 3rd lockdown a year ago, the walking I maintained didn't make a dent. When gyms reopened my 1 or 2 weekly elliptical visits didn't do much either so I started adding some weights at the end of 2021. I don't have any muscle definition but I can carry a briefcase with two laptops in one hand and a basket filled with groceries in the other so that's a marked improvement from before.
When I finally start losing weight I tend to overshoot my weight loss targets so I'm crossing my fingers there was simply a lot of inertia in the beginning of this cycle. Otherwise I have to admit I'm old or drop the medication and accept defeat, but the money I spent on my wardrobe makes me a determined man.
